Director General Sports Punjab Nadeem Sarwar launches powerlifting and weightlifting camps at Gujranwala

Lahore, January 02, 2019 (PPI-OT): Director General Sports Punjab Nadeem Sarwar launched powerlifting and weightlifting camps as part of SBP’s 7-game U-16 Coaching Camp campaign at Gujranwala’s Gymnasium Hall. DG Sports Punjab Nadeem Sarwar also inaugurated volleyball training camp at Sialkot. DC Gujranwala Rai Manzoor Nasir, Divisional Sports Officer Kh Saif, DSO Aysha Cheema, Chief Librarian Imran, TSOs and international coaches were also present on this occasion.

Talking on this occasion, DG Sports Punjab Nadeem Sarwar said that SBP’s 7-game U-16 Coaching Camp campaign is a great effort to trace talent from grassroots level. “The talented players will also be given opportunities to attain training from top international trainers. We will also make every possible effort for jobs of potential players”.

At Sialkot’s volleyball camp, DG Sports Punjab Nadeem Sarwar said: “The talent hunt programmes will continue in my tenure. We will build volleyball and football grounds in Sialkot. We are also planning to hold mutual sports competitions among the camp probables of 7-game U-16 coaching camp campaign”. PTI leader Umer Dar lauds sports passion of DG Sports Punjab Nadeem Sarwar. “DG Sports Punjab has major role for revival of sports activities in Sialkot,” he added.

The opening ceremony of hockey camp was held at Gojra’s Hockey Stadium where Advisor to CM Punjab Umer Farooq graced the occasion as chief guest. DSO Attaur Rehman, Chief Consultant Shahid Faqir Virk, Olympian Shahbaz Junior, Danish Kaleem and M Khalid were also present on this occasion. Advisor to CM Punjab Umer Farooq also opened kabaddi camp at Faisalabad. DSO Tariq Nazeer and District Sports Officer Rana Hamad were also present on this occasion.

Advisor to CM Punjab Umer Farooq appreciated DG Sports Punjab Nadeem Sarwar’s efforts for the promotion of sports culture in the province. “SBP’s 7-game U-16 Coaching Camp is a historic step towards the bright future of sports in the province.” “All the camp commandants have been advised to prepare daily report of young players’ skills, performance and nutrition etc and after one month we will make final evaluation of all the camp trainees”.
