Department of Sociology and Management Sciences, University of Chitral in Collaboration with ACTED Pakistan arranged a seminar with the theme of “Lessons Learned from Covid-19 and the way forward”

Chitral, September 24, 2020 (PPI-OT): Department of Sociology and Management Sciences, University of Chitral in collaboration with ACTED Pakistan arranged a seminar with the theme of “Lessons learned from COVID 19 and the way forward”. Guests from different walk of life participated in the seminar and presented their paper on COVID 19. The speakers highlight the importance of domestic research and public health capacity during COVID 19 pandemic. Governments and their leaders must respect science, understand its value, and act on it in a way that is best for society.

Achieving rapid and effective implementation of control measures for COVID-19 requires broad community engagement. Community solidarity has been unprecedented during the COVID-19 outbreak. Control measures that could sacrifice individual freedom, like mandatory mask-wearing in public areas, were most important tool for countering the pandemic. Mr. Kamran Zeb Project Manager Acted Pakistan highlighted the impact of COVID 19 globally.

Mr. Zulfiqar Ali from Aga Khan Education Service discussed the Impact of COVID 19 on Education Sector. Mr. Siraj UL Mulk highlighted how tourism sector has been negatively affected by COVID 19.Mr. Hayat Shah, Additional Deputy Commissioner lower Chitral highlighted the endeavours of District Administration Chitral to tackle the pandemic. Provost University of Chitral thanked the guests for their participation.
