Corrupt elements within PTI government making accountability process ineffective and controversial: Liaqat Baloch

Lahore, January 08, 2019 (PPI-OT): Secretary General, Jamaat e Islami, Liaqat Baloch, has said that the extension of the military courts was inevitable as the civilian judicial system had not been reformed till now but the entire issue must be discussed in the joint session of the parliament. He was talking to a delegation of the Ulema and Mashaikh at Mansoora. The JI Secretary General said that the constitution of the military courts in the wake of the terrorist attack at the Army Public School, Peshawar had been controversial but all political parties had accepted it in order to wipe out terrorism.

However, he said, that no reforms had been initiated in the general judicial system so far that could make it effective and trustworthy. He said that corrupt elements within the PTI government were making the accountability process ineffective and controversial due to which the corrupt mafia was being protected. While talking to a delegation from Balochistan, Liaqat Baloch said that Balochistan was the most sensitive province of the county and was also rich with minerals.

He said the Baloch youth had always foiled the conspiracies of the enemy independently. He said that since CPEC was the game changer from the economic viewpoint, it was imperative that all the provinces were given their due share in the massive project. He said the security forces and the masses had offered huge sacrifices for restoration of peace in Balochistan but certain forces were mishandling the political situation to achieve their selfish ends.
