Lahore, October 21, 2022 (PPI-OT):The event was organized by Syed Fakhar Ali Shah, President Pakistan Federation Baseball and Business Community Leader Mr. Jamal Nasir was the Chief Guest. News Coordinator Rana Javed supported the inclusion of children of Pakistanis living in the US in the baseball arena.
Syed Fakhar Ali Shah Syed Fakhar Ali Shah President PFB and Vice President of BFA has made an effort to reach out to the community, raise awareness and train American-based baseball players of Pakistani origin and join the Pakistan team in the future. In this regard, a dinner ceremony has been arranged at Serena Restaurant Dewan Avenue. Chief Guest Mr. Jamal Nasir (Business and Community Leader) and Rana Javed of Pakistan News played an important role in organizing the event.
Compere Azeem Khan explained the aims and objectives of the program. Pakistan team coach Tariq Nadeem, media coordinator Aftab Mehboob, WBSC players Aman Khan, Zain Dan and personalities from different departments including Sen Freeman (XXXX Coach), Phil Laurel, Raja Abdul Razzaq, Salman Aftab, Yousaf (JOS), Anwar Rohi, Tariq Khawaja, Ch. Nazir has participated in the event.
Speaking at the event, Syed Fakhar Ali Shah gave a briefing about the beginning, evolution and difficulties encountered during the baseball game in Pakistan. He mentioned the lack of resources, unsatisfactory arrangements and training conditions in the initial period. Mentioning the formation of the team, preparation and participation in the competitions and the results, he revealed that when baseball was announced to be included in the 1992 Olympics, his father, former DG Punjab Sports Board late Syed Khawar Shah took the responsibility of starting baseball in Pakistan.
During this time, the national team achieved significant success despite all the unfavourable conditions, lack of resources and non-availability of facilities. Today, Alhamdulillah, this plant planted by him has become a fruitful tree and Pakistan Federation Baseball is playing an important role for the promotion of this sport.
He also said that our mission is to include the children of Pakistanis living in America in the baseball arena and by providing them with the best training to join the Pakistan team. He cleared that only for children born in America to join the MLB and represent the national team of Pakistan, it will only depend on their performance. An honorary souvenir was given to Chaudhry Nazir.
