Karachi, November 25, 2022 (PPI-OT):Chairman Pakistan People’s Party and Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has congratulated Prime Minister of Spain Pedro Sanchez on his election as President of Socialist International. It may be mentioned here that Socialist International is a 71-years-old worldwide organization of political parties, mostly socialist and labour-oriented organizations having 119 political parties and 13 affiliated organizations as its members.
Earlier, the PPP leader and Federal Minister for Poverty Alleviation and Social Safety and Chairperson Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) Shazia Marri was elected as Vice President, Socialist International Women from Asia Pacific region.
Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that his Party has always struggled for the restoration and strengthening of democracy. He said the election of Pedro Sanchez as President will further boost the democratic values and socialist vision in the world. PPP, as the only social democratic party from Pakistan, will continue its mission for promoting democratic values in the world.
