The international community should ensure the right of self-determination to the people of Occupied Jammu and Kashmir in accordance with the resolutions of the United Nations Security Council, said Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari

Karachi, January 05, 2023 (PPI-OT): Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, while reiterating his commitment to support the right of self-determination of the people of Jammu and Kashmir, has emphasized that the international community, especially the United Nations, should follow through on its promises and take steps that will help Jammu and Kashmir.

The people should be ensured the right to self-determination according to the resolutions of the United Nations Security Council. In his message on the occasion of Self-Determination Day on Thursday, he said that on this day in 1949, the United Nations Commission on India and Pakistan (UNCIP) unanimously held a free and impartial referendum organized by the United Nations.

He said that the right to self-determination is a fundamental principle of international law which has been upheld in international human rights documents. In its annual resolution on self-determination the foreign minister said that this day highlights the need for the international community, especially the United Nations, to respect the determination of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.

He said that the last 75 years of Indian occupation of Jammu and Kashmir under the illegal rule of India is a sad story of oppression of the Kashmiri people. He said that India has fuelled the market of terror in Occupied Jammu and Kashmir and refuses to give these oppressed people the right to exercise their inalienable right to self-determination and to live a life of dignity.

India 5 August 2019 has taken illegal and unilateral actions, India is making demographic and political changes in the occupied valley to turn Kashmiris into a powerless minority in their own land. Bilawal Bhutto said that it is time that the international community, especially the United Nations To fulfill its commitments and take steps that will allow the people of Jammu and Kashmir in the UN Security Council Resolutions

CM Chaudhry Parvez Elahi hands over allotment letters of plots among B-block affectees of Journalist Colony

Lahore, December 11, 2022 (PPI-OT): Chief Minister Punjab Chaudhry Parvez Elahi resolved a 17 years old issue of Journalist Colony Lahore. CM alloted substitute plots to the affectees of B Block today. A ceremony was organised at CM office for the allotment of plots to the 84 affectees of B Block. CM handed over allotment letters to the affectees of B Block. The Chief Minister while addressing the ceremony stated that during first phase such affectees have been given plots in the Journalist Colony on whose plots constructions had already been made.

The affectees of B Block have been given plots in the Journalist Colony through balloting and 17 years old issue of B Block affectees has been resolved. The other affectees of B Block will be alloted plots on the land available in the Journalist Colony in the next phase. CM promised to give plot to every affectee of B Block adding that such affectees of B Block whose plots are clear can build their houses immediately. He asserted that there is no scope of any land-grabber mafia in the Journalist colony. A Police chowki will also be built in the Journalist Colony adding that possession of F Block plots has also been given.

CM apprised that approval for phase 2 of Journalist Colony has also been accorded and other journalists can also build their houses. The Phase 2 members were not only granted 700 kanal land but development work is going to be launched on it soon. Directions have been issued to RUDA and LDA for Phase 2 construction. All journalists will be given 5, 5 marla plots each in phase 2. CM outlined that sick and disabled journalists not having membership of press club will also be given plots. CM announced to grant 150 percent Special Allowance to the officers and staff members of DGPR along with granting two months’ salary as honorarium to the officials of Punjab Journalists Housing Foundation.

President Lahore Press Club Azam Chaudhry remarked that CM Parvez Elahi as always has won the hearts of journalists adding we are deeply grateful to the Chief Minister for granting approval of F block, B Block, Phase2, restoring annual grant along with the payment of insurance premium by the Punjab government every year ACS(Home) Captain(Retd) Asad Ullah Khan, Secretary Information Asif Bilal Lodhi, Press Secretary to CM Iqbal Chaudhry, DGPR Rao Parvez Akhtar, ADGPR Rubina Zahid and others participated in the ceremony. While President Lahore Press Club Azam Chaudhry, Secretary General PFUJ Rana Muhammad Azeem, Shahbaz Mian, affectees of B Block, senior journalist khawar Naeem Hashmi, Khalida Yousaf and others participated in the ceremony. CM also distributed shields among the officers and staff members of PJHF.

CM Chaudhry Parvez Elahi chaired the cabinet standing committee for wheat

Lahore, December 11, 2022 (PPI-OT): Chief Minister Punjab Chaudhry Parvez Elahi presided over the second meeting of Cabinet Standing Committee for Wheat at CM office in which wheat release policy and issuance of its quota came under consideration afresh along with available stock of wheat and its needs were reviewed. The Chief Minister while addressing the meeting stated that the Punjab government by adopting an effective strategy saved rupees 55 billion in wheat sector during a period of one month.

CM disclosed that rupees two billion extra were also being saved by imposing financial discipline adding that it has been decided to enhance quota of wheat in big cities including Lahore and Rawalpindi. CM outlined that the Punjab government is strictly adhering to its policy to make itself self- sufficient in the production of wheat for being an agricultural province. CM directed to impart awareness to the farmers about usage of such seeds yielding more wheat production adding that no stoppage should arise with regard to provision of wheat to the people.

Secretary Food and Director Food apprised the chair about available wheat stock position and its needs. Provincial Ministers Raja Muhammad Basharat, Muhammad Mohsin Leghari, Sardar Hasnain Bahadar Dreshak, Syed Hussain Jahania Gardezi, Chief Secretary Abdullah Khan Sumbal, Principal Secretary to CM Muhammad Khan Bhatti, Secretaries of Food, Agriculture, Finance, Former President Bank of Punjab Hamesh Khan, Director Food and other concerned officials attended the meeting.

CM Chaudhry Parvez Elahi chaired 5th cabinet meeting

Lahore, December 11, 2022 (PPI-OT): Chief Minister Punjab Chaudhry Parvez Elahi presided over the 5th Provincial Cabinet meeting at CM office today in which a strong protest was made against the demeanour of the federal government for not signing an agreement with the Asian Development Bank over Greater Thal Canal Project. The Federal government demeanour was strongly condemned as well during the meeting. CM denounced that a surplus foreign exchange of one billion dollar is getting wasted from the national exchequer due to inefficiency of the federal government adding that in case of again making an agreement with the ADB the cost would increase more than two times.

The federal government by not making an agreement with the ADB not only did enmity with Punjab but also with the country. CM censured that the federal government is doing economic murder of the farmers of Punjab adding that the demeanour of the federal government equates to ruining the efforts to make Punjab a food basket. Had the Greater Thal Canal Project been in place then the farmers would have received surplus water and could become self-sufficient in wheat due to which wheat would not have been imported and one billion dollars could have been saved.

The federal government denied its share in the Greater Thal Canal Project. CM underscored that the Punjab government would go to the last limit to attain its due right adding that how come those ruining the country can sustain the sinking economy. During the Punjab Cabinet meeting the former decision to constitute a Joint Investigation Team under Anti-Terrorism Act 1997 of section 19(1) about the Model Town tragedy was endorsed. A principle approval was accorded during the meeting for the fast track launching of waste to energy project to provide cheap electricity to industries.

The Chief Minister directed Local government, Energy and Industries department to collaborate in this regard. The cabinet also granted approval for grant in aid for the Journalists Housing Society Faisalabad and payment of outstanding dues to Justice Retd Shabbar Raza Rizvi in One Man Inquiry Tribunal. Approval was granted for the transfer of industrial and residential unit’s condonation fee which has been fixed at 50 percent along with fixing time period, automation of stamp duty, and lifting ban for making recruitments on new posts for E- Stamping and increasing the expenditure cost of PICIIP project in Sahiwal.

The decisions made during the first, second, third and fourth cabinet meetings were also endorsed during the meeting. 17 Provincial Ministers, Advisers, Special Assistants, Chief Secretary and senior officials attended the meeting. While Provincial Ministers Doctor Yasmeen Rashid, Murad Raas, Hussain Jahania Gardezi, Raja Yasir Humayun, Latif Nazir, Khayal Ahmad Kastro, Amir Saeed Rawn and others attended the meeting via video link.

During Imran Khan’s era, the economy worsened and the economic condition of Imran’s family and supporters improved

Karachi, December 11, 2022 (PPI-OT): Pakistan People’s Party Secretary General Syed Nair Hussain Bukhari has said that the economy was the worst during Imran Khan’s era and the economic condition of Imran’s family and assistants improved. This is the change and Utern (infidelity). Imran Khan has praised the establishment in the morning and criticized it in the evening.
