Karachi, March 06, 2023 (PPI-OT): Aseefa Bhutto, the daughter of late former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto, has extended her warmest greetings to all the communities celebrating the festival of Holi. In her message, Aseefa Bhutto said, “Holi is a joyous festival of colours that brings people of all ages and backgrounds together. It is a time to celebrate love, harmony, and diversity, and to forget all our differences.”

Vehari, March 06, 2023 (PPI-OT): Former President Asif Ali Zardari responding to the questions by the media in Vehari on Monday evening said that taking U-turn is in the nature of Imran Khan. Imran Khan wanted to sell all the institutions of the country but we saved the country by ousting him from power.

 

It is the power and authority of interior minister to arrest Imran Khan in any case. He said that it is his first visit to Vehari but he has personal contacts with the people of the area. He said that politics is the art of possibilities.

 

Responding to the questions by the journalists he said that the PPP is not in the PDM but is a part of the government. The PPP and the PDM have their own views on different issues. President Zardari said that there could be negotiations with politicians and political parties but Imran Khan is not a politician. Imran Khan did not win the by-election in Rajanpur on the basis of popularity but due to price-hike and the women voted for his party because they run the kitchen for the family.

 

Regarding the digital census, President Zardari said that the Sindh has reservations on the census. Regarding alliance with other political parties in the next elections he said that we will see when the elections are held. He said that people struggle in politics and do hard work like Syed Yousuf Raza Gillani who was imprisoned for six years and that is why I chose him as the prime minister of the PPP government. Imran Khan Fears facing courts but a politician does not fear the courts or the prisons.

 

On a question about contesting election on a National Assembly seat from Vehari he, in a lighter mood, said that if you people are inviting me to contest then he does not have any objection. Responding a question about judiciary, he said that the way we have to put the economy and other things on the right track and also deal with the military mind-set we have to also deal with the judiciary. Judiciary is also from the people in the society, we have to talk to them.

 

They were lawyers before and now have become judges. Responding to a question about default, he said that Pakistan is a country and not a public limited company which will vanish. Japan and other countries have defaulted in the past and default does not mean that the country is finished. During our government 2008-13, we increased the salaries and pensions and provided employment.

Karachi, March 06, 2023 (PPI-OT): Former President of Pakistan and President Pakistan People’s Party Parliamentarians, Asif Ali Zardari strongly condemned the terrorists’ attack in Bolan, Balochistan. He expressed his deep sorrow and grief over the martyrdom of law enforcement personnel in the attack.

 

President Zardari said that terrorism is an unpardonable crime and the terrorists must not and cannot escape punishment. Asif Ali Zardari condoled with the families of the martyrs and prayed to Almighty Allah for the early recovery of the injured.

 

In a separate message, Chair Pakistan People’s Party and Foreign Minister, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari also condemned the terrorists’ attack on security personnel in Bolan area of Balochistan and expressed profound sorrow and grief over the martyrdom of nine security personnel in the attack. Chairman Bilawal said that the planners and facilitators of this attack will be brought to book. He also prayed to Almighty Allah for early recovery of the injured.

Karachi, March 06, 2023 (PPI-OT): Sindh Labour and Human Resources Minister, Saeed Ghani, has said that an attempt is being made under a conspiracy to make the recent local government elections in Karachi controversial. Talking to media persons here outside the Election Commission of Pakistan head office on Monday, Ghani said that the Pakistan People’s Party had emerged as the single largest party in Karachi in the latest local government polls as the next mayor of the city would belong to the PPP.

 

He said the ECP the previous day had issued the notification of the winning candidates of the local government polls in the city. The ECP had withheld the results of the polls in 20 union committees in Karachi, he said. Ghani, who is also PPP Karachi Division President, said that PPP had secured 84 seats in the city while Jamaat-e-Islami had clinched 82 UCs. He told media persons that PPP’s victory on two more seats in Karachi had been confirmed after the recounting of votes.

 

He said the ECP had unduly withheld results of polls on six seats in Karachi at the behest of Jamaat-e-Islami as such a decision shouldn’t have been taken in the presence of election tribunals. He said the ECP had decided to itself conduct the hearing of the cases of these six UCs.

 

Ghani informed media persons that local government elections in Karachi held on January 15 were the most transparent and fair polls in the history of the city. He said that not a single bullet was fired anywhere whereas no death was reported due to any violent incident during the polling in Karachi.

 

Ghani said that thousands of presiding officers and returning officers had performed their election duties in Karachi but none of them had been contacted by him either before the polls or after it to pressurize them. He informed the journalists that the PPP would have won at least 125 seats in local government election to form the next city government without the support of any other party had there been any plan by it to rig the polls.

 

He said the people of Karachi had completely rejected the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf in the latest polls as the PTI was also involved in the attempts to make the polls controversial. He told media persons that PPP had emerged victorious in such areas of Karachi where in the past it had traditionally won the previous elections. He said the PPP had recognized the mandate of the Jamaat-e-Islami in Karachi as the latter should do the same to acknowledge the People’s Party’s victory in the city.

Karachi, March 06, 2023 (PPI-OT): Islamabad (Staff Reporter) Minister of Labour and Manpower Sindh and President Pakistan People’s Party Karachi Division Saeed Ghani has said that an attempt is being made to make local elections of Karachi controversial under a conspiracy. The people of Karachi have badly rejected PTI and now they have resorted to thuggery.

 

The People’s Party has emerged as the single largest party in Karachi and, God willing, the mayor will also be ours. He expressed these views while talking to the media outside the Election Commission in Islamabad on Monday.

 

On this occasion, PPP leader Nasir Lodhi, newly elected Chairman Korangi Ahmed Raza, Habib Bangash and others were also present with him. Saeed Ghani said that the notification of the successful candidates of Karachi has been issued by the Election Commission yesterday and the results of 20 USCs have been withheld.

 

He said that according to the ongoing notification, the People’s Party has received 84 seats while Jamaat-e-Islami has received 82 seats. He said that the Election Commission withheld the results of 6 seats on Jamaat-e-Islami’s EMA and it was not justified after the Election Tribunal, however, the Election Commission decided to hear the cases of these 6 USCs itself and after that other parties including People’s The party also filed its cases in it.

 

He said that the Presiding Officers and the Returning Officer accused the Election Commission itself that PTI and Jamaat-e-Islami are constantly giving them a thread, but none of them have mentioned the name of the People’s Party because we understand.

 

That the municipal elections held on January 15 were the fairest and most transparent elections in the history of Karachi, in which not a single bullet was fired and no one was killed. In response to a question, Saeed Ghani said that thousands of POs and ROs have given their duties in the elections. Tell any POs or ROs that I called them before or after the elections.

 

“If we had rigged it, we would have won 125 USCs and formed the government alone,” he said. He said that the elections were very fair and transparent but PTI, which has been badly rejected by the people of Karachi, is engaged in conspiracies to make it controversial.

 

In response to a question, Saeed Ghani said that the People’s Party got seats from their own specific areas, but we do not discuss how Jamaat-e-Islami got seats and we also recognize their mandate, but we also recognize them as our mandate.

 

In response to another question, Saeed Ghani said that I am also the President of PPP Karachi Division and when the cases of my own people are going on here, I have come and will continue to come. He said that if anyone is hurt by my coming, I will continue to hurt them more.
