Youth Affairs and Sports Department Punjab organizes Iqbal’s Pegham-e-Khudi Digital Conference 

Lahore, November 23, 2022 (PPI-OT):Youth Affairs and Sports Department Punjab has organized Iqbal’s Pegham-e-Khudi Digital Conference in connection with Iqbal Day on Monday. Leading speakers Muneeb Iqbal, Khurram Elahi, GM Shah and Waqar Tayyub addressed the Pegham-e-Khudi Digital Conference moderated by Hassan Mirza. The speakers during their speeches emphasized upon youth to follow the life-changing and revolutionary message of Iqbal.

GM Shah presented Kalam-e-Iqbal in a beautiful tone. Speakers said that Iqbal’s poetry is definitely a great source of motivation for the young generation of the country. “Pakistan can achieve great success on all fronts by following the message of Iqbal,” they added.

“In the present era, it’s the responsibility of parents, teachers and elders to make the young generation aware of Iqbal’s philosophy of khudi (self). “It is the need of the hour and a major requirement of the modern era to make the young generation aware of Allama Iqbal’s philosophy of khudi (self) and thoughts”.

They urged the young generation to follow Iqbal’s philosophy of Khudi (self) in their practical lives. “We can achieve true progress by providing proper guidance to our talented youth”. Director General Sports Punjab Muhammad Tariq Qureshi in a statement on Monday said that Punjab Govt has decided to celebrate ‘2022 as Year of Iqbal’ and in this regard Youth Affairs and Sports Department Punjab has planned several programmes to highlight Iqbal’s Pegham-e-Khudi in the collaboration with Sports Board Punjab and Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) from Nov 7 to 10, 2022.

Director General Sports Punjab Muhammad Tariq Qureshi informed that as per schedule the programme of ‘Karvaan-e-Iqbal’ will be presented on Nov 8, Pegham-e-Khudi on Nov 9 while a grand exhibition of paintings and artworks regarding Iqbal’s revolutionary poetry and Pegham-e-Khudi will be presented on Nov 10, 2022.

Youth Affairs and Sports Department Punjab and Civil Services Academy sign MOU for providing training, coaching facilities to under trainee officers in CSA 

Lahore, November 23, 2022 (PPI-OT):Taking another key step Youth Affairs and Sports Department Punjab will provide top class sports training, coaching and other relevant facilities to under-trainee officers of Civil Services Academy (CSA).

In this regard, Youth Affairs and Sports Department Punjab and Civil Services Academy have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) at Civil Services Academy on Tuesday.

Secretary Sports and Youth Affairs Punjab Ehsan Bhutta, Director General Sports Punjab Muhammad Tariq Qureshi, Director General Civil Services Academy Omer Rasool, Additional Secretary Sanaullah, Directors Civil Services Academy Ms Ayesha Zarin, Mr Asim and other officials were also present at the occasion.

Talking on this occasion, Secretary Sports and Youth Affairs Punjab Ehsan Bhutta said that around 200 probationary officers took training in the highest training academy of civil servants every year. “Besides their highest professional training, these officers must also focus on their physical health and it could be possible only through featuring in regular sports activities”.

Secretary Sports and Youth Affairs Punjab Ehsan Bhutta further said that Civil Services Academy will arrange multiple training courses for trainee officers with an aim to update their knowledge and skills in management, sports science and doping issues etc. “Youth Affairs and Sports Department Punjab and Sports Board Punjab will extend every kind of technical help to Civil Services Academy in the carrying out these valuable courses,” he elaborated.

He informed that Youth Affairs and Sports Department Punjab and Sports Board Punjab will also provide all out help to under training officers not only in Civil Services Academy but other training academies like MPDD, QAED, NSPP etc.

Director General Sports Punjab Muhammad Tariq Qureshi on this occasion said that the under training officers can play an important role in the promotion of sports after their deployment. “There is no doubt that the progress and uplift of any country is closely linked to development of sports and that’s why we need to promote sports culture as much as possible in our country,” he added.

Director General Civil Services Academy Omer Rasool expressed his gratitude to Sports and Youth Affairs Department Punjab for conducting sports courses for under-training officers. “Sports and Youth Affairs Department Punjab is taking effective measures for the growth of true sports culture across the province,” he added.

Olympian Arshad Nadeem appointed as Icon Athlete of SBP Athletics Academy 

Lahore, November 23, 2022 (PPI-OT):Director General Sports Punjab Muhammad Tariq Qureshi said that Sports Board Punjab is going to establish a top standard Athletics Academy at Nishtar Park Sports Complex on November 11, 2022.

In this regard, Pakistan’s Commonwealth Games Gold Medallist and Olympian Arshad Nadeem called on Director General Sports Punjab Muhammad Tariq Qureshi at his office at National Hockey Stadium on Tuesday.

Director General Sports Punjab Muhammad Tariq Qureshi on this occasion also appointed Olympian Arshad Nadeem as Icon Athlete of SBP Athletics Academy. Director Admin Syed Umair Hassan, Divisional Sports Officer Tariq Khanzada, senior athletics official Salman Butt and others were also present on this occasion.

During the meeting, Director General Sports Punjab Muhammad Tariq Qureshi and Olympian Arshad Nadeem discussed different features and details about the functioning of the SBP Athletics Academy.

Talking on this occasion, Director General Sports Punjab Muhammad Tariq Qureshi informed that 30 selected emerging athletes of 73rd Punjab Games will also be invited at SBP Athletics Academy for training. “These academies in Punjab are being established as per our plan to spread a network of different sports academies to provide top standard training to our talented athletes,” he added.

Olympian Arshad Nadeem on this occasion thanked Director General Sports Punjab Muhammad Tariq Qureshi for establishing athletics academy. “This academy will prove to be a milestone for the promotion of athletics in the Punjab province. Sports Board Punjab has always encouraged talented male and female athletes”.

Arshad Nadeem further said that it is Sports Board Punjab’s valuable cooperation and support due to which I managed to attain a respectable status among the international athletics community. “I am ready to extend full support for the promotion of athletics among the young generation of the province,” he added.

Youth Affairs and Sports Department Punjab arranges visit to Javed Manzil and Mazar-e-Iqbal under the title of ‘Karvan-e-Iqbal’ in connection with 145th birth anniversary of Allama Iqbal

Lahore, November 23, 2022 (PPI-OT):Youth Affairs and Sports Department Punjab has arranged a visit to Javed Manzil and Mazar-e-Iqbal on double decker tourist bus under the title of ‘Karvan-e-Iqbal’ in connection with 145th birth anniversary of the national poet Allama Iqbal on Wednesday.

Secretary Sports and Youth Affairs Punjab Ehsan Bhutta cut the ribbon and sent off the ‘Karvan-e-Iqbal’ to Javed Manzil and Mazar-e-Iqbal at Punjab Stadium.

Director Youth Affairs Syed Umair Hassan, Assistant Director of Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) Ms Hina, Project Director Tourist Bus Ashfaq Ahmed Dogar, PRO SBP Abdul Rauf Roofi and a large number of male and female students of different colleges were also present on this occasion.

On arrival at Javed Manzil, Muneeb Iqbal, the grandson of Allama Iqbal, welcomed Secretary Sports and Youth Affairs Punjab Ehsan Bhutta and other participants. The Tourism Squad also presented parade on this occasion. Secretary Sports and Youth Affairs Punjab Ehsan Bhutta and Muneeb Iqbal paid tribute to Allama Iqbal and laid a wreath of flowers at Javed Manzil.

Speaking at the ceremony, Secretary Sports and Youth Affairs Punjab Ehsan Bhutta said that living nations celebrate the days of their heroes in a grand manner. “Allama Iqbal gave a new hope and encouragement to the nation. The youth are Shaheen of Allama Iqbal”.

Secretary Sports and Youth Affairs Punjab Ehsan Bhutta further said that Allama Iqbal spread the awareness about ‘Khudi’ among the youth of the sub-continent through his revolutionary poetry. “It is right time for our youth to follow Iqbal’s philosophy of Khudi. By doing so, our youth can save Pakistan from several prevailing challenges”.

Secretary Sports and Youth Affairs Punjab Ehsan Bhutta further said that the visit to Javed Manzil and Mazar Iqbal have been arranged only to make the young generation aware of the thoughts of Allama Iqbal. “Department of Youth Affairs and Sports Punjab has started many programmes to guide the youth of the province”.

Muneeb Iqbal, the grandson of Allama Iqbal, speaking on this occasion said that Allama Iqbal had many expectations from the youth. “The present day youth must understand the philosophy of Allama Iqbal and try to follow it in their practical lives”. He urged the youth to study Allama Iqbal and understand his philosophy”.

Muneeb Iqbal also threw light on the life and poetry of his grandfather Allama Iqbal and the stories he heard about him from his father late Justice Javed Iqbal. He also shared the details of historic meetings of Quaid-e-Azam and Jawahar Lal Nehru with Allama Iqbal at Javed Manzil.

At the end of the ceremony, Secretary Sports and Youth Affairs Punjab Ehsan Bhutta gave souvenirs to Muneeb Iqbal, the grandson of Allama Iqbal. Certificates were also given to the students who visited Javed Manzil and Mazar-e-Iqbal.

Secretary Sports and Youth Affairs Punjab Ehsan Bhutta inaugurates Co-Working Place for young entrepreneurs at NPSC E-Library

Lahore, November 23, 2022 (PPI-OT):Secretary Sports and Youth Affairs Punjab Ehsan Bhutta inaugurated Co-Working Place for young entrepreneurs at Nishtar Park Sports Complex (NPSC) E-Library on Thursday. Co-Working Place for young entrepreneurs was launched in collaboration with Youth Affairs and Sports Department Punjab and Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB).

Additional Secretary Sports Sanaullah, Director Youth Affairs Syed Umair Hassan, representatives of PITB and NGO Rehnuma were also present on this occasion. Mentor Syed Sarfraz Kazmi gave a thorough briefing to Secretary Sports and Youth Affairs Punjab Ehsan Bhutta.

Talking on this occasion, Secretary Sports and Youth Affairs Punjab Ehsan Bhutta said that initially two dozen students will work on their business ideas in the Co-Working Place. “Rs 3 lakh cash prize will be given to each top youth performer Co-Working Place”.

Secretary Sports and Youth Affairs Punjab Ehsan Bhutta further said that Youth Affairs and Sports Department Punjab has provided a suitable platform for youth of the province to move forward. “Our youth is quite talented. They should utilise their talents and play an effective role to win respect for the country at international level,” he added.

Secretary Sports and Youth Affairs Punjab Ehsan Bhutta said that the young entrepreneurs have been selected through a process by NGO Rehnuma in coordination with United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) as part of Arab countries club of International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF). Young male and female participants of Co-Working Place also had group photos with Secretary Sports and Youth Affairs Punjab Ehsan Bhutta on this occasion.

Punjab Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Malik Taimoor Masood to inaugurate Sports Board Punjab’s Cricket Academy on Nov 18: Director General Sports Punjab Muhammad Tariq Qureshi 

Lahore, November 23, 2022 (PPI-OT):Director General Sports Punjab Muhammad Tariq Qureshi said that Sports Board Punjab is going to take another significant measure for the promotion of sports culture among the young generation. In this regard, Punjab Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Malik Taimoor Masood will inaugurate Sports Board Punjab’s Cricket Academy outside Punjab Stadium on Nov 18, 2022.

Director General Sports Punjab Muhammad Tariq Qureshi in a statement on Monday informed that Punjab Chief Secretary Abdullah Khan Sumbal, Secretary Sports and Youth Affairs Punjab Ehsan Bhutta, Director Admin Syed Umair Hassan and other top officials will also attend the launching ceremony.

Director General Sports Punjab Muhammad Tariq Qureshi further said that expert cricket coaches will impart top class training to young players at the newly-constructed five cricket pitches. “This academy is a continuation of our talent hunt campaign in different games. In recent days, we have launched tennis, swimming and table tennis academies in Nishtar Park Sports Complex,” he informed.

Director General Sports Punjab Muhammad Tariq Qureshi further said that cricket has been quite popular in Pakistan and our academy will play a key part in further popularizing the game of cricket in the province. “The Cricket Academy is being launched with an aim to polish cricket skills of young players under the supervision of qualified coaches”.
