The conference focuses on the use of ijtihad— a traditional Islamic legal tool — to address contemporary issues within the framework of Islamic law.

According to Allama Iqbal Open University, the conference aims to explore the application of ijtihad, which involves making informed legal decisions by considering the purposes of Shariah in the context of modern challenges.
