Poster Making Competition on Promotion of Peace Through Literature and Arts on “Peaceful and Safer Campuses” at the Institute of Applied Psychology

Lahore, November 13, 2021 (PPI-OT):Institute of Applied Psychology, University of the Punjab in collaboration with School of Communication Studies and Media Training and Research Center (MTRC) organized a Poster Making Competition on Promotion of Peace through Literature and Arts on “Peaceful and Safer Campuses (PSC)” at the Institute of Applied Psychology.

It was a hands-on learning experience and an engaging activity that ended with the declaration of winners, prize and certificate distribution ceremony by the notable Prof. Dr. Rafia Rafique; Director/ Professor, IAP, Prof. Dr. Noshina Saleem; Director School of Communication Studies, Dr. Fatima Kamran; Associate Professor at IAP, Dr. Omama Tariq; Assistant Professor at IAP, Dr. Afifa Anjum; Assistant Professor at IAP and Mr. Faiz Younas; Lecturer at IAP.

8th Merit List of BS Program of Various Disciplines

Kohat, November 12, 2021 (PPI-OT):For the information of all applicants who have applied for admission in BS Programs of the FATA University that the Eight Merit Lists of short-listed candidates have been placed on the website and FATA University official Facebook page. The short-listed candidates are directed to appear for interview at the relevant department, scheduled on 12th November, 2021. The candidates are further directed to bring original and attested photocopies of the following documents:

(i) Printed copy of Admission form

(ii) Original Bank Draft

(ii) All DMC, s and Certificates

(iii) CNIC or form B

(iv) Domicile Certificate

(v) Admission fee Rs 11,000/- for Erstwhile FATA students and Rs 16,500/- for other students.

Furthermore, the admission of those candidates who will deposit the admission fee upto 04:00 PM on 12th November, will be confirmed. Karachi, November 12, 2021 (PPI-OT):In continuation to this office earlier notice dated 13-09-2021, it is hereby informed for information of all students, Batch 2020 who have applied for CoD/RoD that they are required to be present in Main University Auditorium on 19-11-2021 at 14:30 hrs. for “Change of Discipline”.

Students are hereby advised to carefully check/select desired discipline, no request for revert to parent discipline shall be entertained after CoD.

Kindly note that absence in any circumstances shall be treated as withdrawal from Application of CoD.

Walk on Social and Religious Tolerance

Khairpur, November 12, 2021 (PPI-OT):A Walk on Social and Religious Tolerance in line with the Social Action Plan (SAP) of Inter-University Consortium for the Promotion of Social Sciences (IUCPSS) organized by the All Departments and Institutes of Faculty of Social Sciences and Department of Public Administration was taken out from the New Academic Block which terminated at the Main Gate of Faculty of Management Sciences. Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto, Vice Chancellor led the Walk.

Speaking to the participants of the Walk, Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto advised the students to adopt policy of peaceful co-existence, national cohesion and tolerance in their practical life. He said youth is the agent of change so you could play your dynamic role in the social and religious tolerance because you belong from different backgrounds and you have to disseminate the soft message of tolerance in the society. He said Islam is the religion of peace, and harmony. It teaches interfaith dialogue and discourse. Dr. Ibupoto appreciated the role of Mr. Muhammad Murtaza Noor, National Coordinator, IUCPSS for construction of Students Societies Service Building and provided an opportunity of two training sessions for teachers capacity building.

Prof. Dr. Taj Muhammad Lashari, Dean Faculty of Social Sciences cordially welcomed the participants. He commended the patronage of Vice Chancellor Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto for providing a viable platform for the students activism. He also appreciated the contribution of all the Directors and Chairmen of Institutes and Departments of Faculty of Social Sciences and Department of Public Administration for organizing this awareness walk.

Prof. Shahida Amir Chandio conducted the proceedings of the event. She shed light on this significance of social and religious tolerance in the society. It is our collective duty to maintain peace, cooperation and tranquillity in the society. A large number of teachers and students participated in the walk.

All Pakistan Inter-University Volley Ball Zone-H (Boys) Championship 2021-22 inaugurated

Khairpur, November 12, 2021 (PPI-OT):The All Pakistan Inter-University Volley Ball Zone-H (Boys) Championship 2021-22 organized by the Sports Section, Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur in collaboration with Higher Education Commission inaugurated at Syed Qaim Ali Shah Indoor Sports Complex of University. Prof. Dr. Khalil. Ahmed Ibupoto, Vice Chancellor, Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur inaugurated the Championship while Prof. Dr. Syed Madad Ali Shah, Vice Chancellor, Benazir Bhutto University of Technology (BBSUTSD), Khairpur was the Chie Guest and Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ibrahim Keerio, Principal, Govt. Agriculture College, Khairpur was the Guest of Honour.

Speaking on this occasion, Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto said sport is as old as humanity itself. It’s kept societies fit, healthy and assertive. It builds strong communities, cooperation, understanding and boosting morale. Dr. Ibupoto remarked that in this digital age and modern world of iPhones and laptops, the importance of sports is more relevant and concerned. Competitive physical exercise not only motivates youth to get outside and keeps them fit, but it also promotes the important values of tolerance and passions.

Prof. Dr. Syed Madad Ali Shah said that sports activities are integral part of life the co-curricular activities at campuses. Such activities create a healthy society. The social evils could be eradicated with the help of sports activism. Dr. Shah appreciated the untiring efforts of Vice Chancellor Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto for promoting the sports culture at the campus.

Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ibrahim Keerio said Higher Education Commission, Islamabad is committed to promote the sports culture at the campuses. Sports culture may be promoted at college level also so the best teams and players may be produced for the country. Dr. Syed Baqir Ali Shah, Chairman Sports Section welcomed the guests and participants. He said we are striving to provide better and possible sports facilities to our students.

Mr. Muhammad Murad Pirzada, Director Physical Education accorded vote of thanks to Vice Chancellor and Higher Education Commission, Islamabad for organizing this event at this University. It is recalled that the teams from Sufi University, Bhitt Shah, Sindh Agriculture University, Tandojam, Sukkur IBA University, Mehran University of Engineering and Technology, Jamshoro and host Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur are participating in this championship.

A large number of teachers and students witnessed the ceremony. In today’s matches, Sindh Agriculture University, Tandojam beat Sufi University, Bhitt Shah by 3-0 and Sukkur IBA University beat Mehran University of Engineering and Technology, Jamshoro by 3-0.
