Islamabad, December 08, 2022 (PPI-OT):A landmark achievement for #NUST and also for #Pakistan, A high-level delegation from Arçelik Global Türkiye, which is the second largest electronics manufacturing company in #Europe and also the parent company of Pakistan’s largest electronics manufacturing company Dawlance Pakistan, visited NUST, which was facilitated by Innovation and Commercialization Office NUST (ICON), and signed an agreement for the opening of their global R and D center in NUST.
The delegation comprised Research and Development Director Arçelik Global, Mr Emre Oguz, and Mr Umar Ahsan Khan, Chief Executive Officer, Dawlance Pakistan, and held a meeting with Dr Rizwan Riaz, Pro-Rector (Research, Innovation and Commercialization).
Mr Muhammad Anwar Fareid, Director ICON and Dr Salman Raza Naqvi, Director National Science and Technology Park (NSTP), and Dr Hammad Cheema, Principal, School of Interdisciplinary Engineering and Science (SINES) were also present at the meeting. Our distinguished guests also agreed to utilize the robust and impactful capabilities of the research-centric environment of NUST for their ongoing and future R and D projects.
Arçelik team was also given a guided tour of NSTP, SINES, and the School of Mechanical and Material Engineering (SMME) where they were elated to see the level of research projects and technological development by the faculty and students of NUST. We hope that this partnership will open up new avenues of innovation at NUST and will strengthen the industry-academia linkages as well.
