Karachi, June 21, 2018 (PPI-OT): Aligarh Muslim University Old Boys Association’s President Jawaid Anwar and General Secretary Muhammad Arshad Khan have expressed their profound grief over the death of the internationally acclaimed Urdu humourist and satirist Aligarian Mushtaq Ahmed Yousufi who passed away due to the protracted illness.

In a condolence message they said that Mushtaq Ahmed Yousufi has left a void impossible to fill. With his death, an era of humour ended. His humour and writings will always be remembered. He brought smiles to the faces of millions of his readers and will always be remembered in Urdu literature. In recognition of his valuable contribution in Urdu literature, he was awarded Sitara-e-Imtiaz and Hilal-e-Imtiaz.

Mushtaq Yousufi was a renowned banker and he had been the President of United Bank. Translations of his books in other languages were also very popular among the people. They prayed to Almighty Allah for grant of eternal peace to the departed soul and strength and fortitude to the bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss with equanimity.
