Alumni Office Organizes Seminar on Digital Entrepreneurship 

Islamabad, December 17, 2022 (PPI-OT):The Alumni Office at International Islamic University, IIUI arranged a seminar titled “Digital Entrepreneurship” in the Council Hall of Administration Block. Mr. Arshad Mahmood Akif, Director and CEO of ASK Development, a successful entrepreneur, was the seminar’s resource person. The purpose of the seminar was to raise students’ understanding of the trends and problems of digital entrepreneurship in Pakistan and throughout the world, as well as to teach them vital strategies on “How to Become an Entrepreneur.”

Mr. Arshad Mahmood Akif, the speaker, greeted students for the session, shared his experience and addressed the entrepreneur’s abilities to create and organize limited resources, take the initiative, and deal with uncertainty to succeed. While talking about Entrepreneurship, he explained it is more of mind set and innovation; the way forward to be developed as a nation and prosperous is to be an Entrepreneur. Digital entrepreneurs have transformed the world. The scope and pace of digitization are fundamentally altering enterprises; new digital firms produce a lot more value than conventional ones. Finally, the speaker shared some success stories of leading entrepreneurs and their achievements. The experience of the resource person in developing the ASK development was highly beneficial to the students for their future professional endeavor.

During the one-and-a-half hour session, students from different programmes and majors interacted with the guest speaker to learn more about digital entrepreneurship resources and processes involved in designing and implementing the business idea. The speaker encouraged students to explore and develop their business startup ideas. Mr. Arshad guided the students in online business management and encouraged them to hone their skills. A fruitful question and answer session was held at the end to address students’ fears of market conditions and misconceptions about digital entrepreneurship.

Dr. Sumayya Chughtai, Student Advisor, Female Campus, IIUI, briefed the guests from ASK development about university and different programmes and acknowledged the seminar’s importance. In-Charge Alumni Office of IIUI, Dr. Sonia Irum thanked Mr. Arshad Mahmood, the resource person of the seminar for sharing valuable experiences about successful entrepreneurship and key factors for a successful entrepreneur. On this occasion, Dr. Sonia also thanked participants who hailed from the Faculty of Management Sciences, Department of Media and Communication, Department of Computer Sciences, and Department of Software Engineering of the university.
