Islamabad, May 06, 2018 (PPI-OT): Department of Humanities, Air University in collaboration with Regional English Language Office, US Embassy, Islamabad launched English Access Micro scholarship Program at Air University for 100 students studying in schools of Federal Directorate of Education, Islamabad. The program aims at enhancing English language proficiency, developing critical thinking, and inculcating life skills in the students of class 8th and 9th.
Deputy Chief Mission, John Hoover was the chief guest of the ceremony who awarded certificates of scholarships to the selected students. Prof. Dr. Wasima Shehzad, Dean Faculty of Social Sciences and Director of English Micro scholarship Access Program at Air University congratulated the students who were awarded with this scholarship. She emphasized over the role of Universities in playing positive role in community service activities and university-School partnership.
Director General, Federal Directorate of Education, Mr. Hasnat Qureshi also congratulated the students and thanked Air University and Regional English Language Office for starting this fabulous program at Air University. Access Program Coordinator, Mr. Akhtar Abbas shared detailed plan of Access Program and objectives to be achieved by this program. Ms Maria Snarski and Mr. Abdul Majeed, officers of Regional English Language Office, Principals of schools, faculty and students of Air University attended the ceremony.
