Islamabad, October 05, 2017 (PPI-OT): According to a Gilani Research Foundation Survey carried out by Gallup and Gilani Pakistan, a vast majority (77%) of Pakistanis think it is possible that close companions and family members were involved in the assassination of Benazir Bhutto.
A nationally representative sample of men and women from across the four provinces was asked “Some people accuse Benazir Bhutto’s close companions and family members for their involvement in her murder, while others call this type of accusation an opponents’ propaganda. In your opinion, what is the possibility that her close companions and family members were involved in her murder?” In response, 32% said it is very much possible, 45% said somewhat possible and 13% said not possible. 10% did not know.
The study was released by Gilani Research Foundation and carried out by Gallup and Gilani Pakistan, the Pakistani affiliate of Gallup International. The recent survey was carried out among a sample of 1781 men and women in rural and urban areas of all four provinces of the country, during September 11-September 18, 2017. Error margin is estimated to be approximately ± 2-3 per cent at 95% confidence level.
