Islamabad, April 04, 2018 (PPI-OT):According to a Gilani Research Foundation Survey carried out by Gallup and Gilani Pakistan, near majority of Pakistanis (64%) say they do not use anything else for cleaning their teeth other than a toothbrush. Toothpick most cited among other products used for teeth cleaning.
A nationally representative sample of men and women from across the four provinces who answered in the affirmative about brushing their teeth yesterday was further asked, “Do you use anything else for cleaning your teeth other than brushing them?” In response to this question, 31% said yes, 64% said no and 5% did not know or wish to respond.
Those who responded yes were further asked “Please tell me what else you use for cleaning your teeth other than brushing?” In response to this question, 13% said they use a thread, 45% said toothpick, 9% said a mint or chewing gum, 13% said mouth wash, 29% said they gargle after eating, 49% said others and 1% did not know or wish to respond.
The study was released by Gilani Research Foundation and carried out by Gallup and Gilani Pakistan, the Pakistani affiliate of Gallup International. The recent survey was carried out among a sample of 1227 men and women in rural and urban areas of all four provinces of the country, February 05 – February 09, 2018. Error margin is estimated to be approximately ± 2-3 per cent at 95% confidence level.
