Islamabad, June 13, 2018 (PPI-OT): According to a Gilani Research Foundation Survey carried out by Gallup and Gillani Pakistan, 53% Pakistanis say that taxes imposed by the government are unjustified.

A nationally representative sample of men and women from across the four provinces was asked, “In your opinion, are the taxes imposed by the government justified or unjustified?” In response to this question, 31% said they are justified, while 53% said they are unjustified. 16% did not know or did not wish to respond.

Question: “In your opinion, are the taxes imposed by the government justified or unjustified?”

The study was released by Gilani Research Foundation and carried out by Gallup and Gilani Pakistan, the Pakistani affiliate of Gallup International. The recent survey was carried out among a sample of 1607 men and women in rural and urban areas of all four provinces of the country, April 30 – May 7, 2018. Error margin is estimated to be approximately ± 2-3 per cent at 95% confidence level.
