35% Pakistanis opine that budget for fiscal year 2018-2019 is worse than the previous budgets; 1 in 5 say it is better than the previous years: Survey

Islamabad, June 12, 2018 (PPI-OT): According to a Gilani Research Foundation Survey carried out by Gallup and Gillani Pakistan, 35% Pakistanis opine that the budget for fiscal year 2018-2019 is worse than the previous budgets; 1 in 5 say it is better than the previous years.

A nationally representative sample of men and women from across the four provinces was asked, “In your opinion, is the latest budget presented for fiscal year 2018-2019 better, worse or the same as last year?” In response to this question, 21% said it is better, 35% said it is worse and 31% said it is the same. 13% did not wish to respond.

Question: “In your opinion, is the latest budget presented for fiscal year 2018-2019 better, worse or the same as last year?”

The study was released by Gilani Research Foundation and carried out by Gallup and Gilani Pakistan, the Pakistani affiliate of Gallup International. The recent survey was carried out among a sample of 1607 men and women in rural and urban areas of all four provinces of the country, April 30 – May 7, 2018. Error margin is estimated to be approximately ± 2-3 per cent at 95% confidence level.
