22nd Dr. M.A. Shah Night Trophy-2017

Karachi, June 13, 2017 (PPI-OT):Karbala Heroes, Quetta make big upset when they defeated Tournament’s favourite team Omar Associates by 28 runs in 1st Quarter Final of 22nd Dr. M.A. Shah Night Trophy, 2017 being played at Asghar Ali Shah Stadium Karachi organized by Asghar Ali Shah Memorial Sports Foundation collaboration of A.O. Clinic. While another upset been in 2nd Quarter Final in which Advance Telecom lost against Rehman Foundation Lahore by 04 runs in thrilling encounter. Both winners team qualify to play semi final.

In first Quarter Final played at Asghar Ali Shah Stadium Karbala Heroes Quetta after winning the toss decided to bat first, they posted 188/6 runs in score board in stipulated 18 overs. Khushdil Shah blasted fine century, he scored 103 runs in just 49 balls with the help of 7 fours and 9 massive sixes, Sami ur Rehman also cracked half century in 36 balls including 5 fours and 3 towering sixes.

L.L.S. Kashif Bhatti took 02 wickets for 25 runs. In reply Omar Associates were all out for 160 runs in 17.5 overs. Usman Khan made 35 runs with the help of 4 fours and 2 sixes, Azam Khan son of Test star Moeen Khan made brisk 28 runs in 13 balls includes 7 fours. Kashif Bhatti made 27 runs including 3 sixes, Muhammad Waqas scored 24 runs. L.M.F. Naseer Khan bowled extremely well and took 03 wickets for 28 runs, R.O.S. Sohrab Baloch 2/28, L.L.S. Waseem Qureshi 2/36, R.M.F. Zeeshan Khan 2/36 Khushdil Shah declared Man of the Match.

In 2nd Quarter Final Rehman Foundation skipper after winning the toss decided to bat first. They score 121/8 in 20 overs. Raheel Mirza scored 28 runs with the help of 3 sixes, Haider Hasan made 22 including 1×4, 1×6, Abdul Ghaffar made 19 runs. L.M.F. Taj wali took 2/29, R.M.F. Waqas Ahmed 2/20. In turn Advance Telecom could scored 117/9 runs in 20 overs. Mukhtar Ahmed scored 27 runs with 3 fours and 2 sixes Sahibzada Farhan and Salman Afridi scored 19 runs each. R.O.S. Raheel Mirza took 3 valuable wickets for 13 runs. L.L.S. Muhammad Rizwan took 3/17, R.O.S. Ghulam Dastagir 02/21. Raheel Mirza of R.M.F. declared man of the match umpires were Irfan Habib, Azizur Rehman and Tahir Qureshi, Match referee 1st class cricketer Waheed Mirza. Scorer Muhammad Ali Lakha.
