2023 China International Big Data Industry Expo confirmed 93 enterprises to participate in the exhibition including Huawei and Alibaba

GUIYANG, China, March 20, 2023 /Xinhua-AsiaNet/– On March 17, it is learned from the exhibition group of 2023 China International Big Data Industry Expo Executive Committee that so far 93 enterprises including China Electronics Corporation, Huawei and Alibaba have confirmed to participate in the Expo, which will be held from May 26th to 28th this year.

The Expo exhibition group general contact Luo Geng introduced that this year the Expo will set up six offline theme exhibition halls, including international pavilion, east number west calculation pavilion, digital industry pavilion, industry digital pavilion, innovation scene pavilion and digital life pavilion. The Expo plans to attract 320 enterprises to exhibition, focusing on new technologies, new products, new plans, new applications of big data field, and the exhibition area covers 60,000 square meters. The Expo exhibition group has issued invitations to big data industry-related enterprises to participate. Now, 93 enterprises have been confirmed to participate in the exhibition, including 12 international enterprises and 81 domestic enterprises.

The Expo will roll out professional customized exhibition routes. Focusing on the needs of enterprises and the hot areas of the industry, the professional customized exhibition routes will be designed such as “east number and west calculation”, data element circulation, intelligent manufacturing, data security, smart city and cloud services and so on.

UVAS Alumni Association holds 13th annual reunion in befitting manners

Lahore, March 20, 2023 (PPI-OT):The Alumni Association of the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) Lahore arranged its 13th annual reunion here at City Campus Lahore. Founder Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Manzoor Qureshi presided over the reunion function while former Vice-Chancellors Prof Dr Muhammad Nawaz and Prof Dr Talat Naseer Pasha were the guests of honours and a large number of alumni from abroad, across Pakistan and officers from the Livestock Department participated.

Various activities like special prayers for the deceased alumni members, sports competitions (rifle shooting, rowing), stage performances (singing, derwaish raqs, dhamaal, cultural walk), fireworks, funny questions and answers featured the event. Renowned comedian Jawad Waseem also performed and entertained the participants with his stand-up comedy. Speaking on the occasion, founder Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Manzoor Qureshi said that UVAS is a historic institution where students are getting education from all over the Pakistan and even from different parts of world. He said it is direly needed to share across Pakistan the cultural activities performed by UVAS students for national integration. He said I am glad to see the day by day progress of UVAS through its quality of education and research to solve livestock issues emerging challenges including deadly diseases and plays its key role in the uplift of livestock sector and national economy.

In his welcome address, Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Nasim Ahmad welcomed the participants and spoke about UVAS flood relief activities in the worst flood affected areas in different provinces of (South Punjab, Sindh, KP and Baluchistan) during flood 2022. He called for more donations from UVAS alumni for providing livestock under the initiative “Economic revival of flood affected families”. He said UVAS added a new course “Livestock Emergency and Disaster Management” to DVM curriculum. At the end of event, Prof Manzoor along with Prof Nasim and other dignitaries distributed prizes and gifts among the winners of rifle shooting and rowing competitions.

Al-Shifa Trust announces “Vision 2028” expansion plan

Rawalpindi, March 20, 2023 (PPI-OT):The Al-Shifa Trust President Maj. Gen. (Retd) Rehmat Khan has said that due to the increase in diabetes, and unawareness the number of eye patients is increasing significantly in Pakistan, therefore, we have planned to double our capacity over the next five years to better serve the masses. The expansion will not only increase our capacity but we will also improve procedures, enhance overall care, and ensure better accessibility, safety, and delivery of service, he said while sharing his vision with the media persons.

Maj. Gen. (Retd) Rehmat Khan said that under the “Vision 2028” we will boost patient care to new heights from the time the patient enters the hospital until discharge, he said, adding that we have designed the expansion in such a manner that all processes take place next to each other creating an easy flow and minimizing patient movement. He said that we have planned to double the scope of services from the current level of 1.3 million patients annually to 2.5 million in our five hospitals located in Rawalpindi, Chakwal, Kohat, Muzaffarabad, and Sukkar.

The president of the trust informed that a new block is under construction at Chakwal Hospital and a full-fledged hospital has been planned in Quetta. A camping structure is to be set up in Gilgit to provide free treatment to the people of remote areas of Gilgit-Baltistan and the establishment of low-vision departments in Lahore and Karachi is on the cards. Giving more details, he said that outreach teams are added to the Sukkar and Kohat eye hospitals expanding free eye camps throughout the country.

Mobile health vehicles have been arranged to give pick-and-drop services to the poor patients of rural areas of Rawalpindi, Chakwal, Sukkar, and Kohat, he added. After the basic screening, patients will be brought to the hospitals for complete treatment that will include free medicine, free night stay, and meals and patients would be dropped at their homes after the procedure.

He informed that during the last three decades, the trust has treated 30 million patients, a service worth Rs13 billion while thousands of these patients were suffering from glaucoma, catric, and cancer. He said that the government should come forward and upgrade eye treatment facilities at the district level to handle the increasing number of eye patients.

Annual General Council Meeting of All Pakistan Newspapers Society held

Karachi, March 20, 2023 (PPI-OT):The Annual Meeting of the APNS General Council held on March 20, 2023 at APNS House, Karachi unanimously elected Nazafreen Saigol Lakhani as President, Imtinan Shahid as Senior Vice President, Muhammad Aslam Kazi as Vice President, Sarmad Ali as Secretary General, S.M. Munir Jilani as Joint Secretary and Shahab Zuberi as Finance Secretary of the Society. The AGM was held under the chairmanship of Mr. Sarmad Ali, President of the Society. The Council unanimously approved the report of the Executive Committee for the year 2022-2023 as well as the Annual Accounts of the Society for the year 2022.

The General Council attended by 128 members from across the country, formed an Election Commission headed by Dr. Waqar Yousuf Azeemi with Nasir Daad Baloch and Mumtaz Ahmed Phulpoto as members. The Election Commission conducted the election of the Executive Committee for the year 2023-24. Following dailies and magazines were elected un-opposed to the Executive Committee of the APNS for the next tenure:

The new Executive Committee elected Mrs. Zahida Abbasi of Daily Nau Sijj, Karachi on woman – publishers seat. The newly elected Executive Committee appreciated the performance of the Election Commission. The AGM in a resolution, expressed its profound concern on the state of print media due to the present economic situation which has caused severe financial crisis for newspapers, many of them are at the verge of collapse. In this situation, the media expected support from the government to brave the financial crunch.

The AGM urged upon the Federal Government to pay the long outstanding dues of newspaper industry amounting to over Rs.2 billion, increase the quantum of advertisements and allocate a separate share of print media in the advertising budget so that the newspaper industry would be able to survive in the present situation. The AGM reiterated that the Federal Government has not yet implemented the recommendation of 8th Wage Board to increase the government advertising rates in proportion increase in the wages despite various assurances.

Rawalpindi, March 20, 2023 (PPI-OT):Candidates of MS / M.PHIL. / Ph.D. Programs who have qualified for the Merit Lists can deposit their fee by March 22, 2023 (from 09:00 am to 12:00 pm) in the University.

All candidates must have the exact amount of fee dues as provided on FJWU website in order to avoid any inconvenience and unnecessary delays in payment procedure.

Classes / Semester for MS / M.Phil. / Ph.D. Programs is scheduled to commence form March 27, 2023.

It is to inform to all concerned that MS / M.Phil. classes in any degree program will not be initiated, if the number of enrollment of students is less than 5.

They have completed their research work under the supervision of Dr. Muhammad Haroon, Assistant Professor, Chemistry Department.
