IBA Karachi celebrated notable graduates at the Alumni Excellence Awards 2023

Karachi, March 16, 2023 (PPI-OT): The Institute of Business Administration (IBA), Karachi on Friday honoured thirteen members of its alumni community for their professional achievements and service to the community. Attended by more than 350 alumni, the event acknowledged contributions of the awardees in a wide range of professional fields, including entrepreneurship, environment, governance, diversity and inclusion, arts and media, philanthropy, and sports. The event was moderated by Ms. Malahat Awan, Director Alumni Affairs and Resource Mobilization, IBA Karachi who welcomed the guests to IBA’s 1st Annual Alumni Excellence Awards.

Delivering the welcome address, Executive Director IBA, Dr. S Akbar Zaidi, lauded the growing community of IBA graduates for their efforts in shaping the society. He recognized other guests present in the room including, Dr. Ishrat Husain, Professor Emeritus and former Dean and Director IBA, Dr. Miftah Ismail, former Finance Minister, Mr. Muneer Kamal, former Chairman NBP and Pakistan Stock Exchange, and Mr. Tariq Kirmani, Chairman Oil and Gas Pakistan Ltd.

Mr. Mohammad Sohail, Alumni Representative on the BoG of IBA, also spoke at the occasion. He welcomed the support of the IBA fraternity and shared the recent initiatives taken by the IBA to engage its alumni fraternity.

Winners from diverse backgrounds were present at the ceremony. The list includes: Ms. Mahoor Shahzad for her excellence in Badminton (Graduate of 2018), Mr. Asif Peer, CEO Systems Ltd. (1999), Ms. Narmeen Khan, Managing Director (Malaysia and Singapore) Mondelez International (1997), Mr. Shakir Moin, Chief of Marketing North America Coca Cola (1993), Mr. Zafar Masud, CEO Bank of Punjab (1993), Mr. Sabir Sami, Global CEO KFC (1988), Mr. Amir Adnan, Owner Amir Adnan (1987), Mr. Ruhail Muhammad, CEO Lucky Electric Power Co. (1986), Mr. Sulaiman Shahabuddin, President The Aga Khan University (1986), Mr. Asad Umar, former Minister Finance Pakistan (1984), Mr. Shabbir Diwan, CEO Gatron Industries Ltd. (1983), Mr. Mohammad Zubair, former Governor of Sindh (1981) and Ms. Shahla Aly, Vice President, gTech Ads Product and Tools Operations at Google. Each of the recipients have excelled in their domains and have helped place IBA and Pakistan on the map through their achievements.

The event was attended by senior faculty, deans, and members of the staff.

Prominent alumni who attended the event included, Mr. Mohsin Nathani, President and CEO Habib Metropolitan Bank, Mr. Shahid Khan, Country Head UBER, Dr. Owais Shaikh, Leading IP legal expert in Pakistan, Ms. Huma Adnan, Founder FnkAsia, Dr. Shahid Zaki, Former CEO Philips and others. The event closed with dinner and networking as old colleagues and classmates came together to celebrate this iconic moment of celebrating brilliance at IBA.

Opening Doors to Opportunities: The University of Sargodha’s Job Fair 2023

Sargodha, March 16, 2023 (PPI-OT): The University of Sargodha organized a Mega event titled ”Job Fair 2023” on Thursday. The Job Fair was aimed at providing students and alumni with the opportunity to interact with potential employers and learn about job openings and career prospects in various fields. More than 50 leading companies and organizations from different sectors conducted on-spot interviews with the candidates.

The fair featured booths and stalls set up by various companies and organizations where students could learn about job requirements, salary packages, and the selection process. The participating companies included national corporations from various sectors including banking, technology, education, healthcare, government, and non-profit organizations.

The organizers received an overwhelming response from the participating companies and the students and alumni who attended the event. The Vice-Chancellor University of Sargodha, Prof. Dr. Qaiser Abbas graced this event and expressed his satisfaction with the success of the Job Fair and congratulated the organizers on their hard work and dedication. He reiterated the university’s commitment to providing its students with the best possible opportunities to build successful careers and contribute to society. We extend our sincere appreciation and gratitude to our partner organizations for their active participation and unwavering support in making this event a resounding success, he added.

He also said ‘’this is the first job fair of its kind in the university. We are trying to organize such events in the future as well so that students get employment opportunities.’’ A Mass Communication Student Tahreem Shahid while expressing her feeling said that the Job Fair 2023 is a remarkable occasion for students to expand their knowledge about various career paths, engage with seasoned professionals in their fields of interest, and acquire a competitive advantage in the job market.

IIUI President Holds Meeting with Differently Abled Students

Islamabad, March 16, 2023 (PPI-OT): President, International Islamic University, Islamabad (IIUI) H.E. Dr. Hathal Homoud Alotaibi, held an interactive meeting with the differently abled male and female students studying in various departments of the university. Worthy President said that if any of these students face an issue he/ she must directly approach his office where they will be heard completely.

He assured that all the differently abled students shall have full support and cooperation during their studies and their issues shall be solved on priority basis. IIUI President paid tribute to their parents for encouraging and making arrangements for the studies. On the occasion, students thanked IIUI President for continuous support and conveyed regards and wishes from their parents.

Meanwhile, Dr. Muhammad Khan, Director Academics, on the directives of President IIUI listened to the issues of the students and assured that all the problems shall be solved as soon as possible. Addressing the students, he said they were the omen of encouragement for all of us while he also vowed that anyone creating issues in the campus for the differently abled students shall not be tolerated.

Habib University’s Graduate School Expo 2023: Connecting Students with Top Universities Worldwide

Karachi, March 16, 2023 (PPI-OT): The pursuit of higher education is a journey that demands dedication, hard work, and a passion for learning. For students who aspire to explore new horizons of knowledge and broaden their career prospects, the Graduate School Expo 2023 at Habib University was an event not to be missed. On March 11, 2023, the campus was abuzz with excitement and curiosity as students and professionals gathered on a bright Saturday morning, eager to discover the vast array of graduate programs offered by top universities across the globe.

Organized by the University’s Office of Career Services, the Expo aimed to provide an opportunity for students to explore various graduate programs offered by leading universities worldwide. The Expo partnered with USEFP, Education USA, Campus France, and M.R. Consultants, who offered focused sessions that promised to open new vistas of knowledge and career opportunities.

The Expo was a showcase of the various programs available, and an opportunity for students to gain valuable insights and tips on how to embark on the journey of higher education in foreign lands. Enthusiastic students attended the enlightening sessions by Campus France and USEFP in Rangoonwala Classroom at Habib University, gaining invaluable knowledge and inspiration to pursue their dreams of studying at world-renowned universities overseas. From “Discover University in France through Campus France” to “Researching Graduate Programs in the US by Education USA,” the sessions were packed with informative content to help students plan their future academic and career goals. The sessions were designed to help students navigate the complex admission procedures and offer tips on securing scholarships and financial aid to pursue their academic goals.

Networking was a key element of the event, and representatives of Campus France, Education USA, USEFP, and M.R. Consultants engaged in productive conversations with Shoaib Khan, Assistant Director, Office of Career Services and Office of Alumni Relations and Engagement at Habib University. The Expo also recognized the contributions of the various partners who made the event a success. representatives of Campus France, USEFP, Education USA and M.R. Consultants were honoured with tokens of appreciation by the Habib University’s Office of Career Services, in recognition of their invaluable contribution towards the Expo. IIIE Organizes Seminar On “New Development Framework in The Light of Sustainable Development Goals” at Female Campus

Islamabad, March 16, 2023 (PPI-OT): International Institute of Islamic Economics (IIIE), of International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) organized a seminar titled “New Development Framework in light of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)” at female campus in Auditorium of Fatima Block.

M. Ali Kemal, Chief of Sustainable Development Goals SDGs Section at Ministry of Planning, Development and Special Initiatives was Guest Speaker, Prof. Dr. Abdul Rasheed Director General (IIIE), IIUI also participated in the seminar while, Assistant Prof. Dr. Hajra Ihsan, In-Charge Department of Economics (Female Campus), IIIE was the focal person for the seminar.

During the seminar speakers highlighted the importance of SDGs and shed light on revised strategies to achieve SDGs targets by emphasizing upon sustainability, resilience, long term investments, systematic and participatory approach and grassroots level development. The seminar was attended by faculty members and a large number of female students of the International Institute of Islamic Economics.

Saudi delegation visits PU

Lahore, March 16, 2023 (PPI-OT): A 5-member delegation from Umm Al-Qura University, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia led by the Vice President Prof Dr Fahd bin Ahmed Al-Zahrani visited Punjab University. PU Dean Faculty of Information and Media Studies Prof Dr Khalid Mehmood, Director External Linkages Dr Sobia Khurram and others were present on the occasion. Dr Khalid said that PU enhancing international connections with world’s leading academic and research institutions.

The delegates thanked PU administration on providing friendly atmosphere to international students with good opportunities of higher learning and stressed the need to promote academic relations between the two countries. Later, souvenirs were presented to the delegation.
