3-Days training programme on ‘Entrepreneurship in Dairy Industry’ complete at UVAS

Lahore, February 03, 2023 (PPI-OT):The Department of Dairy Technology of the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) Lahore in collaboration with Livestock and Dairy Development Department Punjab (L and DD) under the project of ‘Capacity Building of dairy farmers and industry stakeholders on milk value chain’ organised concluding ceremony of three days training programme on “Entrepreneurship in Dairy Industry”.

Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Nasim Ahmad (SI) chaired the concluding ceremony of training and distributed certificates among participants while Project Director Dr Muhammad Junaid and 15 participants / professionals from public and private sectors were present.

UVAS ink MoU with Alltech Pakistan working together for planet of plenty-climate change, food security and sustainability 

Lahore, February 03, 2023 (PPI-OT):The University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) Lahore and Alltech Pakistan signed a memorandum of understanding with Alltech Pakistan working together for planet of plenty-climate change, food security and sustainability.

Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Nasim Ahmad (SI), Chairman Department of Animal Nutrition Associate Prof Dr Naveed ul Haq from UVAS and Chief Executive Officer Dr Shahzad Naveed Jadoon and Marketing Manager Obaid-ur-Rehman from Alltech Pakistan signed the MoU in a ceremony held at City Campus. Dean Faculty of Animal Production and Technology Prof Dr Saima, Dean Faculty of Life Sciences Business Management Prof Dr Muhammad Azam, UVAS faculty members and officials from Alltech Pakistan were present in the ceremony.

Speaking on the occasion, Prof Dr Nasim Ahmad said that this cooperation will be very beneficial for both organizations especially for learning/shearing each other experience, innovative knowledge, new ideas and practical skills. He urged self-reliance and enhancement of milk and meat production is key way to solve financial crises in Pakistan. He acknowledged the role of Alltech Pakistan for providing technical and financial assistance to UVAS.

Dr Shahzad Naveed Jadoon said that agriculture is a future and working together for planet of plenty is the only way forward. Under the MoU, both the parties will provide academic and administrative support where required. They will develop research proposals as well as will conduct joint research and development projects and Alltech Pakistan will provide opportunities for the students regarding internships.

Both parties will jointly arrange joint conferences, trainings workshops, symposia and seminars. Information related to mutual workshops, symposia and conferences will be shared with students and faculty and intellectual property developed during joint activity will also be owned by both organizations etc.

A day-long workshop “Database Development with Oracle ADF, Oracle Apex, Oracle OAF, Oracle Database and JDeveloper 12c”

Larkana, February 03, 2023 (PPI-OT):Sindh University Campus Larkano Organized A course titled “Database Development with Oracle ADF, Oracle Apex, Oracle OAF, Oracle Database and JDeveloper 12c” under the leadership of Pro Vice Chancellor Dr. Azhar Ali Shah for the final year students of Computer Science. A day-long workshop was organized, in which Parvez Ahmad Tunio, working as a senior ADF and Apex developer in Muscat, He gave a detailed briefing to the students on the futures of technology and hard work, insisted on doing.

Speaking on this occasion Parvez Ahmad Tunio said that technology is progressing day by day and introducing new futures every day, so the youth should acquire practical skills that will help them in the future. To live a happy life, this is the age of technology, urge the youth to improve their techniques instead of any useless gossip, so that they can reach a destination, compared to Pakistanis, Indian citizens are performing important feats in technology. But we also have to pay attention so that the name of Pakistan can shine all over the world.

The vice chancellor chaired the meeting of deans committee

Khairpur, February 03, 2023 (PPI-OT):Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto, Vice Chancellor, Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur presided over the meeting of Deans Committee. While talking to the participants of the meeting, Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto said that promotion of quality education is our utmost priority because education is a catalyst of change and development of the society and it contributes in the nation building.

After detailed deliberations various important decisions were made. It was decided that the classes of First Semester-2023 will commence from Monday February 06, 2023. The results of Academic Year 2022 will be submitted till February 10, 2023.

The admission process for classes of B.S Part-II, III, IV and Final Year will start from February 06-10, 2023. The students are advised to deposit their admission fees within stipulated time. The Directors, Chairmen and Incharges of Teaching Institutes and Departments will nominate the panel of tabulators and checkers to the Controller of Examinations office on or before February 07, 2023. It was decided that the results of the Academic Year-2022 will be announced in the month of February.

Department of Psychology, FoHSS organized a seminar on Psychosocial Determinants of Addiction 

Lahore, February 03, 2023 (PPI-OT):Department of Psychology, FoHSS has organized an online seminar on Psychosocial Determinants of Addiction. Dr. Joseph Meagher (a consultant in general adult psychiatry) was the guest speaker at this seminar.

Dr. Joseph spoke about the legal issues that have been attached to addiction all over the world. He specifically spoke about the US and how the prohibition of Alcohol lead to a drug epidemic afterward. He raised a very pertinent question about the prohibition of drugs and how it leads to crime.
