Digi-Qabliyat UoH and Presidential Initiative on AI and Computing Joined Hands Together to offer courses on Emerging Technologies 

Haripur, January 31, 2023 (PPI-OT):Digi-Qabliyat, an entrepreneurial initiative of Department of Information Technology at The University of Haripur signed a MoU with Presidential Initiative on artificial intelligence and computing (PIAIC) on January 5, 2023.

Vice Chancellor, Prof. Shafique ur Rehman, Dean Faculty of Information Technology and Numerical Sciences, Prof Mukhtaj Khan, Registrar, Mr. Riaz Muhammad, Deputy Treasurer , Imran Muhammad, Focal Person HEC DLSEI Project, Dr. Muhammad Faizan Khan, Focal Person BIC, Mr. Maed Zaman, Chief Operating Officer PIAIC, Mr. Zia Khan, and COO Metaverse Mrs. Wania participated in the Ceremony, In this agreement they decided to offer courses leading to certifications at The University of Haripur in the field of Metaverse, Web 3.0, AI and Deep Learning, Cloud-Native Computing, Ambient Computing and IoT.

It was further discussed to train students for entrepreneurship through these emerging technologies as per aspiration of UOH to be an entrepreneurial University. The university of Haripur along-with PIAIC is committed to start the above-mentioned programs in the field of metaverse in the beginning and many more to come. It will help to support the community of Haripur and this region in terms of skill-based education and globalization. The ceremony ended with high spirits and commitments for an entrepreneurial and technologically learned nation.

Reception Ceremony of Newly Elected Officers of Red Crescent Youth Club Held at Hasan Abdal Cadet College

Hasan Abdal, January 31, 2023 (PPI-OT):The Chairman of the Pakistan Red Crescent, Sardar Shahid Ahmad Laghari, stated that service to humanity has become a notion and that we must reawaken this hope so that everyone is always willing to assist others.

Volunteerism promotion is an urgent need and a shared national responsibility for all of us. He expressed these views while addressing the introductory ceremony of the Red Crescent Youth Club at Hasan Abdal Cadet College. He further said that Red Crescent volunteers are the backbone of the ongoing flood relief operation because they work day and night to serve the flood victims.

Sardar Shahid Ahmad Laghari said that Hasan Abdal Cadet College is an excellent institution of historical importance, producing future leadership. Collaboration with Red Crescent will reach new heights in spreading awareness and serving the people. He said that club members would get red jackets, caps, and umbrellas, just like they get bicycles.

Youth Club Secretary Cadet Hasnain Mumtaz Naqvi held a media briefing about the club’s activities. In his remarks, Vice Principal Kaleem Mustafa reaffirmed his commitment to maintaining the stability and vitality of the seven-year collaboration with the Red Crescent, stating that the Red Crescent has given the cadets’ volunteerism new hope.

The efforts of the youth club are commendable. We are proud of this partnership and mutual trust, he added. Deputy Vice-Principal Shaukat Mehmood thanked the guests for coming and welcoming the newly elected officers of the Youth Club in the welcome speech.

On behalf of Hasan Abdal Cadet College, Vice Principal Kaleem Mustafa presented souvenirs to Pakistan Red Crescent Chairman Sardar Shahid Ahmad Laghari, Secretary General Obaid ullah Khan, and Assistant Director of Youth and Volunteer Department Misbah Mushtaq.

Moreover, Moazzam Ali Saqib, former head of the youth club, was given a certificate of appreciation and an honorary certificate for the cadet college by the Red Crescent. Newly elected Head Youth Club Mirza Saeed, Secretary Youth Club Hasnain Mumtaz Naqvi, and Vice Principal Kaleem Mustafa were presented with Red Crescent souvenir shields.

Later, during the college visit, Chairman Red Crescent Sardar Shahid Ahmed Laghari was briefed about various wings, sports facilities, and extra-curricular and co-curricular activities. Chairman PRCS also visited the grave of the founder of the college.

ITT issued for Official Apparel Supplier of the ICC 

Dubai, January 31, 2023 (PPI-OT):The International Cricket Council (ICC) has issued an Invitation to Tender (ITT) to partner with a world-class and well-established brand to be its Official Apparel Supplier to provide clothing at ICC events from 2024 to 2027.

The ICC is offering exclusive supplier rights at global events including branding exposure, digital features and other commercial benefits. The ITT requires an ICC Workforce and Match Officials Clothing provider who will be responsible for providing all clothing and apparel requirements at its World Cup events across the world.

This ITT is intended to attract responses from companies with extensive experience in providing clothing and apparel at global sporting events. Following the ITT process, companies will be notified if their submission was successful.

86% Pakistanis say that their doctor listened to them carefully the last time they were examined and rate their experience as good 

Islamabad, January 31, 2023 (PPI-OT):According to a survey conducted by Gallup and Gilani Pakistan, 86% Pakistanis say that their doctor listened to them carefully the last time they were examined and rate their experience as good.

A nationally representative sample of adult men and women from across the country was asked the following question regarding, “Thinking back to the last time you were examined by a health care professional, i.e. a doctor, how did you find the doctor in the following aspects? -listening to you carefully?” In response, 35% rated their experience as very good, 51% said it was good, 8% responded that they felt neutral about their experience while 5% said it was bad and 1% said it was very bad.
