Lahore, January 16, 2023 (PPI-OT):UCP, Faculty of Science and Technology (FOST) has signed an MoU with Enrichers Investment Group, which is a leading investment company of Pakistan that manages strategic investment consortium and expanded into multiple groups of companies where Enri-Farms is one of them. The main aim of this MoU is to work on a joint project “Applied research on Nano-clay commercially manufacturing for arid land’s irrigation and water conserving capacity building”.

Bahawalpur, January 16, 2023 (PPI-OT):Directorate of Public Relations, Islamia University Bahawalpur Dean Faculty of Online and Distance Education Islamia University Bahawalpur Professor Dr. Akhtar Ali has said that according to the vision of Vice Chancellor Engineer Prof. Dr. Athar Mehboob, steps are being taken for standard distance education in Jamia Islamia. Learning Management of the University The system is tried and tested and ideal for the university’s distance learning system. Islamia University Bahawalpur was the first university to launch online classes immediately during the Covid crisis.

Thanks to this timely initiative, thousands of students were saved from wasting their valuable semester. The Higher Education Commission rated the online disc board as excellent with a score of 100 percent. He said that with the approval of the Vice-Chancellor, admissions to associate degree programs in Computer Science, Arts and Languages, Islamic Studies and Social Sciences are ongoing. Similarly, admissions in Bachelor programs in Computer Science, English, Urdu, Business Administrative and Sports are ongoing are Bachelor Program 5th Semester Admissions are ongoing for these programs including 1.5 year B.Ed. program.

Inclusivity in Sports: Women’s Tennis Championship Begins at Government College University 

Lahore, January 16, 2023 (PPI-OT):The Inter-University Women’s Tennis Championship 2023 officially began today at the GC University Lahore, marked by a vibrant inauguration ceremony attended by sports officials, participating teams, and a large number of spectators. The tournament, organized under the Higher Education Commission, features 16 teams representing universities from all over the country, including last year’s winner, Lahore College for Women University.

The first day of the tournament saw some exciting matches, with the University of Management Technology (UMT) defeating Government College Women University, Sialkot and Punjab University beating the Islamic University of Bahawalpur (IUB). The tournament is expected to showcase some of the top talent in women’s tennis from universities across the country, as they compete to be crowned the Inter-University Women Tennis Champion of 2023.

During the ceremony, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Asghar Zaidi emphasized the significance of events like this in advancing women’s athletics and their role in fostering a more inclusive and equitable society. He said, “This tournament will provide an excellent opportunity for talented women from different universities to showcase their skills in tennis and compete at the highest level.” He also recognized the hard work of GCU Director Sports Waseem Akhtar and his organizing committee in putting the tournament together.

The tournament will be held for three days, with the finals scheduled for January 16th. Students, faculty members, and the university community are encouraged to come out and support the teams, as this event is a great opportunity to come together and promote women in sports, encouraging more participation and further advancing gender equality in the athletic arena.

In-House Meeting with Mr. Ubaid Ur Rehman Nizamani, Pakistan’s Head of Mission in Afghanistan

Islamabad, January 16, 2023 (PPI-OT):The Centre for Afghanistan, Middle East and Africa (CAMEA) at the Institute of Strategic Studies, Islamabad held an In-House meeting with Mr. Ubaid Ur Rehman Nizamani, Pakistan’s Head of Mission in Afghanistan. The meeting was chaired by Ambassador Sohail Mahmood, Director General, and ISSI. Ms. Amina Khan, Director CAMEA and members of the CAMEA research team participated.

During the meeting, the myriad dimensions of the situation in Afghanistan and Pakistan-Afghanistan relations were discussed. Ms. Amina Khan also apprised the Head of Mission of the various research and outreach activities undertaken by CAMEA relating to Afghanistan and the adjoining regions.
