ریاض، سعودی عرب، 9 جنوری 2023ء/پی آرنیوزوائر/– وزارت انسانی وسائل و سماجی ترقی کے زیر اہتمام ریاض میں کنگ عبدالعزیز سینٹر فار نیشنل ڈائیلاگ کے تعاون سے منعقدہ 12واں سوشل ڈائیلاگ فورم آج 9 جنوری سے شروع ہوا۔ ریاض میں 2023، بین الاقوامی لیبر آرگنائزیشن اور 3 پروڈکشن پارٹیوں (حکومت، آجروں، کارکنوں) کے نمائندوں کے ساتھ شرکت کی۔

سوشل ڈائیلاگ فورم نے لیبر مارکیٹ میں پائے جانے والے مواقع اور چیلنجوں پر روشنی ڈالی ، (3) اہم موضوعات کے ذریعے جن میں “قومی کیڈرز کی مہارتوں کو فروغ دینے میں تربیت اور اہلیت کے پروگراموں کا اثر”، “کاروباری ماڈل اور کام کے ماحول کی ترقی میں ان کا کردار” ، اور “اجرتوں کی حفاظت اور معاہدوں کو دستاویزی شکل دینا”شامل ہیں۔(6) اہم اقدامات ان موضوعات کے تحت آتے ہیں، جو مشترکہ قومی کوششوں کے تحت ان کے نفاذ کے لئے ایک مخصوص میکانزم کی طرف سے خصوصیات ہیں۔

انٹرنیشنل لیبر آرگنائزیشن کے نمائندے پروفیسر یوسف غلاب نے وضاحت کی کہ مملکت کی کوششیں محنت کشوں کی دنیا کی طرف سے ہدایت کردہ تیزی سے ہونے والی تبدیلیوں کے جواب میں سامنے آئی ہیں۔انہوں نے مزید کہا کہ آج ہم بڑی اور گہری تبدیلیوں کا مشاہدہ کر رہے ہیں جن کا پہلے کبھی سامنا نہیں کرنا پڑا، جو مختلف شعبوں بشمول تکنیکی ، آبادیاتی اور آب و ہوا کو چھورہی ہیں اور دنیا بھر میں کام کی حقیقت کو بھی مجروح کر رہی ہیں۔ ان تبدیلیوں کے نتیجے میں نئے کام کے نمونوں کا ظہور ہوا ہے جس میں نئی مہارتیں ، جدت طرازی اور اعلی لچک کی ضرورت ہوتی ہے تاکہ تمام شکلوں اور اقسام کے کام کے انتظامات کے لئے مکمل موافقت کو یقینی بنانے میں مدد مل سکے۔

پروفیسر یوسف نے پائیدار، منصفانہ اور جامع ترقی کے حصول میں مدد کے لئے انسانی مرکوز نقطہ نظر تیار کرنے کی ضرورت پر زور دیا، جس میں سماجی مکالمے کے کردار پر بنیادی توجہ مرکوز کی جائے، بشمول اجتماعی اور سہ فریقی تعاون، نئی پالیسیاں تیار کرنے، کامیاب فیصلے کرنے، اور سماجی انصاف، جمہوریت اور امن قائم کرنے میں، کیونکہ یہ بھی ایک منصفانہ عالمگیریت کے لئے سماجی انصاف کے بارے میں بین الاقوامی لیبر آرگنائزیشن کے بیان کے مطابق آتا ہے۔

پروفیسر یوسف نے مزید کہا کہ آئی ایل او کے بیان میں سماجی مکالمے اور سہ فریقی ڈھانچے کو فروغ دینے کی اہمیت پر زور دیا گیا ہے کیونکہ لیبر مارکیٹ کی پالیسیوں پر اتفاق رائے حاصل کرنے کے لئے سب سے مناسب ذریعہ کے طور پر، اس بات کو یقینی بنانا کہ اقتصادی ترقی سماجی ترقی میں تبدیل ہوتی ہے اور اس کے برعکس۔

Department of English Arranged a Seminar on ‘The Dimensions of Language and Criticism’

Islamabad, January 10, 2023 (PPI-OT):The Department of English organized a seminar on ‘The Dimensions of Language and Criticism’ on January 04, 2023. Dr. M. Qasim Yaqoob graced the occasion as the guest speaker. The purpose of the seminar was to highlight how language and criticism are important tools to interpret a text. The dimensions of language refer to the various aspects or elements of language that can be analysed or studied. These dimensions include phonetics, grammar, vocabulary, and pragmatics.

Criticism, in the context of language, refers to the analysis and evaluation of the language used by the writer. Criticism can be used to identify and analyze patterns, themes, and issues in language use. It was also discussed that the meanings of the words are given by society and they also depend upon the context. At the end of the seminar, Prof. Dr. M. Umar Farooq, Head of the Department, expressed his gratitude to the speaker and presented him with a souvenir.

Ramiz Raja Receives GCU Lifetime Achievement Award, Reflects on College Days and Cricket Career

Lahore, January 10, 2023 (PPI-OT):The Government College University Lahore conferred its Lifetime Achievement Award upon former international cricketer, commentator, and chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board, Ramiz Raja, at a ceremony on Tuesday at the University’s Bukhari Auditorium.

The award recognizes alumni who have made outstanding contributions in their field and is one of the highest honours GCU bestows. The award was originally announced for Raja and nine other alumni at the university’s 20th Convocation in November, but he was unable to attend the convocation due to a trip abroad.

During the ceremony on Tuesday, the Vice-Chancellor of GCU, Prof. Dr Asghar Zaidi, presented the prestigious award to Raja, who spoke about his experiences in cricket and shared personal anecdotes of his college days. Raja expressed gratitude towards GCU for recognizing him with this prestigious award and called it a great honor.

Vice Chancellor, Prof. Asghar Zaidi, commended Ramiz Raja for his outstanding contributions to the field of cricket. He believed that recognizing and honouring the achievements of alumni can help inspire current students and encourage them to strive for excellence in their own pursuits.

“It shows that the university values the accomplishments of its graduates and wants to celebrate their successes,” the Vice Chancellor said. Prof. Zaidi revealed the plans for Rs. 400 million project to construct a specialized hostel for elite athletes at GCU Lahore. The hostel will feature state-of-the-art amenities such as accommodation, training facilities and recreational areas, providing the athletes with a comprehensive environment to excel in their sports.

Speaking on the occasion, Ramiz Raja highlighted the importance of education in finding the right path in life and emphasized that education helped him stay away from match-fixing. “Don’t let technology consume you. Make time for sports and physical activity, it will pay off in the long run. It would be an injustice to this magnificent campus if you neglect sports while studying here at the Government College Lahore,” he said Raja spoke out against the change of Pakistan Cricket Board’s constitution, stating that “talent is wasted when excellence and continuity are blocked.”

When asked by a student about his plans for the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) should he be given the opportunity to lead again, Raja responded by highlighting his commitment to the welfare of cricketers. He stated that he intends to establish a cricket foundation that will support and develop young talent, and will make Pakistan a top-performing team in the world of Test cricket. Raja represented Pakistan in three Cricket World Cups, played a total of 57 Tests and 198 One Day Internationals, and served as chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board. He has gained a reputation as a commentator for his expert analysis of the game.

Punjab University issues LLB online admission schedule

Lahore, January 10, 2023 (PPI-OT):Punjab University Department of Examinations has issued the schedule for online submission of admission forms and fee for LLB (3-year) Part-I, II and III supplementary examination 2022 and LLB (5-year) Part-I, II, III, IV and V supplementary examination 2022. According to details, the last date for receipt of online admission forms with single fee of said exams for late college candidates is January 25, 2023.

Directorate of HRM and D Holds Training for Varsity Superintendents

Islamabad, January 10, 2023 (PPI-OT):A three days training program organized for superintendents of International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) is continued at new campus of the university. The program has been organized by Office of the Professional Trainings, Directorate of HRM and D. The activity is being supervised by Nosheen Syed, Incharge, and Professional Trainings section. Aim of the training is to provide full comprehension of all the requisite fields of administration, finance and academics.

Acting President Prof. Dr. N.B. Jumani visited the training program and hailed the efforts of the HRM and D. He advised the participants to pay full attention to training as it would be proved as one of the major breakthrough in strengthening their career and abilities. He opined that united efforts and keen interest along with dedication are required to make this university more prospers and progressed.

On the first day Mr. Ayaz Ali, Additional Director Finance and Administration gave training on the key elements of financial procedures, procurements, PPRA rules and delegations of financial powers.
In the second day of the training, the participants were trained on University Ordinance, statues, Instructions of Government and official procedures, by Saqib Rasheed Deputy Director (HR_I). The participants shall also attend a session on Academic Rules and regulations for undergraduate and graduate programs. The resource persons shall be Dr. Zahid Mehmood Deputy Director Exam and Deputy Director Tariq Sultan.

Punjab University Gujranwala Campus and Punjab Information Technology Board sign MoU

Lahore, January 10, 2023 (PPI-OT):Punjab University Gujranwala Campus and Punjab Information Technology Board have signed an agreement to promote entrepreneurship and establish Regional Plan9 Centre at Gujranwala Campus. In this regard, the Memorandum of Understanding signing ceremony was held in the committee room of the Vice-Chancellor’s office here on Tuesday.

On this occasion, PU VC Prof Dr Asghar Zaidi, DG Gujranwala Campus Prof Dr Naveed Ahmed, Director External Linkages Dr Sobia Khurram and others were present. In his address, Dr Zaidi said that with this agreement, the students of Punjab University and the youth of the area would get an opportunity to start their own business.

He said that Plan9 team and PU students would work on innovations and make this project successful. He said that the establishment of Regional Plan9 Incubation Center at Gujranwala Campus would also solve the employment problems of the youth. He lauded PITB’s Regional Plan9 project and said that PU would play its role to realize the motives behind the project. He also directed the officials concerned to prepare curriculum for promotion of entrepreneurship culture under Plan9.
