CM Chaudhry Parvez Elahi chaired a high-level consultative meeting regarding delimitations of Union Councils

Lahore, January 07, 2023 (PPI-OT):Chief Minister Punjab Chaudhry Parvez Elahi chaired a high-level consultative meeting at CM Office today in which Speaker Punjab Assembly Muhammad Sabtain Khan, Senior Provincial Minister Mian Aslam Iqbal, Provincial Ministers Raja Basharat, Mian Mehmood-ur-Rasheed and MNA Brigadier (Retd) Ijaz Shah attended. The notification of the Election Commission about delimitations of union councils was comprehensively reviewed.

The meeting unanimously rejected one-sided notification of the Election Commission about delimitations of union councils and expressed that the one-sided notification about delimitations of union councils does not fulfill legal requirements. The participants vehemently remarked that the Punjab government does not accept this one-sided notification of the Election Commission.

CM Parvez Elahi stated that the one-sided notification of the Election Commission is an attempt to bulldoze public opinion adding that the local people and administration have not been included with regard to delimitations of union councils nor any consultations have been made in this regard.

CM maintained a legal and a constitutional course will be adopted about the one-sided notification of the Election Commission regarding delimitations of union councils adding that the Punjab government will play its due role according to the constitution and law. CM underscored that the local government institutions are the nurseries of democracy.

CM highlighted that the problems of the masses can only be resolved at their doorsteps only through a strong democratic government. CM apprehended that if the delimitations took effect according to one-sided notification of the Election Commission than strong local governments cannot be formed under any circumstance.

CM outlined that prima facie this one-sided notification is based on malafide intentions and a nefarious attempt to benefit a special political party adding that we hold strong reservations regarding this one-sided notification of the Election Commission. The legal and constitutional sides with regard to one-sided notification of the Election Commission were also reviewed during the consultative meeting.

Special Assistant to Sindh Chief Minister for Human Rights Surinder Vilasai expressed his satisfaction over the arrest of the main accused in the Daya Bhil murder case

Karachi, January 07, 2023 (PPI-OT):Special Assistant to Chief Minister Sindh for Human Rights, Surinder Valasai, has expressed his satisfaction over the arrest of the main accused in the Daya Bhil murder case and advised the Modi government of India to investigate every incident that happened in Pakistan. Stop looking through your lens and twisting.

Daya Bhil, a 40-year-old widow belonging to a minority community, was brutally murdered two weeks ago in village Dipti Sahib in Sanghar district, the body was recovered from a field near the village. The gruesome murder of a working-class woman sparked outrage across the country.

In his statement, Surendra Vilasai said that after this reprehensible incident, India’s diplomatic and propaganda machinery had become active and had spread the word to the whole world that there had been massive atrocities against minorities in Pakistan. He said that according to the facts that have come out after the investigation, the members of his own family and black magic priest Rupu Bhel were involved in the murder of Daya Bhil. He further said that the accused brutally murdered the unfortunate woman during the so-called black magic.

Surendra Vilasai emphasized that crime was a part of every society, and crime should be limited to crime. He said that using titles like injustice and cruelty to minorities should be avoided. He further said that instead of interfering in Pakistan’s internal affairs, the Modi government should provide protection and rights to minorities in India, especially Muslims, Dalits and Christians. He said that attempts to defame Pakistan unjustly in the world will always fail, as minorities in Pakistan are more secure than in India.

Sindh Chief Minister’s Special Assistant on Human Rights said that the identification and arrest of the accused in a blind case like Daya Bhil’s murder is a proof of the police’s investigation using scientific methods and working on merit. He appreciated the efforts of the police officers investigating the Daya Bhil murder case. Sanghar police have arrested 4 accused, who have also confessed their crime.
