Punjab Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Malik Taimoor Masood greets Pakistan cricket team for reaching T20 World Cup semi-final 

Lahore, November 23, 2022 (PPI-OT):Provincial Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Malik Taimoor Masood has felicitated the national cricket team for reaching the semi-final stage of T20 World Cup in a dramatic manner. In his greeting message on Sunday, Punjab Minister for Sports Malik Taimoor Masood said that Pakistan team has played the best cricket against Bangladesh at Adelaide. He said national team exhibited best strategy and hard work in the semi-final clash.

Provincial Sports Minister lauded the performance of Mohammad Rizwan (32 runs), Haris (31), Shan Masood (24*), Shaheen Shah Afridi (4 wickets) and Shadab Khan (2 wickets) in the must-win game. He expressed his hope that Pakistan team will continue the streak of match winning performance in the semi-final encounter and once again emerge winners in a World Cup on Australian soil.

Punjab Govt working on comprehensive programme to provide sports facilities to youth of far-flung areas: Secretary Sports and Youth Affairs Punjab Ehsan Bhutta 

Lahore, November 23, 2022 (PPI-OT):Secretary Sports and Youth Affairs Punjab Ehsan Bhutta has said that the Punjab government is working on a comprehensive programme to provide sports facilities for the youth of remote areas under which various sports grounds and stadiums are being constructed; he said this while addressing a review meeting of ongoing sports schemes in Sahiwal Division at the Commissioner’s office on Wednesday.

Commissioner Sahiwal Division Javed Akhtar Mahmood, Additional Commissioner Coordination Shafiq Ahmad Dogar, Divisional Sports Officer Faisal Ameer Ahmed Khan and District Sports Officer Mian Nisarul Haq and Tehsil Sports Officers also attended.

Secretary Sports and Youth Affairs Punjab Ehsan Bhutta said that the development work is underway on 11 projects with an amount of Rs 71 crore, 78 lakh in Sahiwal Division. The laying of synthetic athletics track at Zafar Ali Stadium will be completed by June 2023 at a cost of Rs 21 crore 40 lakh, he added.

Secretary Sports and Youth Affairs Punjab Ehsan Bhutta also agreed to the construction of two squash courts adjacent to Zafar Ali Stadium on the request of Commissioner Sahiwal Division Javed Akhtar Mahmood.

Secretary Sports and Youth Affairs Punjab Ehsan Bhutta said the work will also start soon on the repair of Sahiwal Gymnasium with the cost of Rs 5 crore, 48 lakh while Rs 2 crore, 87 lakh is being spent on the construction of the new kabaddi stadium. He expressed his displeasure over the delay in the construction of the sports complex in Chicha Watni and directed to speed up the work.

Secretary Sports Ehsan Bhutta also inspected the under-construction athletics track and directed that the standard of construction work should be maintained in any case. “The completion of this track would greatly help in the promotion of athletics in Sahiwal Division and players will get modern facilities for training”.

Addressing the meeting, Commissioner Sahiwal Division Javed Akhtar Mahmood said that sports play an important role in the physical and mental development of the young generation, therefore organizing more sports competitions is the need of the hour.

Secretary Sports and Youth Affairs Punjab Ehsan Bhutta appreciates the performance of young swimmers in their respective age group competitions 26th Boys National Age Group Swimming Championship concludes 

Lahore, November 23, 2022 (PPI-OT):26th Boys National Age Group Swimming Championship concluded at Punjab International Swimming Complex, Nishtar Park Sports Complex under the auspices of Sports Board Punjab on Sunday evening.

Secretary Sports and Youth Affairs Punjab Ehsan Bhutta was the Chief Guest on this occasion. President Pakistan Swimming Federation (PSF) Zoraiz Lashari, Chief Sports Consultant Hafeez Bhatti, Provincial coach Rafi uz Zaman and other officials were also present on this occasion.

Secretary Sports and Youth Affairs Punjab Ehsan Bhutta witnessed the exciting competitions and later distributed medals and prizes among the top performers of the championship. The participants also had group photos with Secretary Sports and Youth Affairs Punjab Ehsan Bhutta.

Talking on this occasion, Secretary Sports and Youth Affairs Punjab Ehsan Bhutta appreciated the performance of young swimmers in their respective age group competitions. “Sports Board Punjab will continue to provide such opportunities to young athletes to express their sports potential,” he added.

Secretary Sports and Youth Affairs Punjab Ehsan Bhutta further said that the Boys National Age Group Swimming Championship was a suitable platform for budding swimmers to demonstrate their swimming skills. He advised the top performers to maintain their level of performance and keep on hard working for their future swimming events.

Mikail Azfar Mir (Sindh), who got five Gold Medals and established four New National Records, was adjudged the Best Swimmer in U-12 event.

Syed Azlan Sohail (Sindh) who clinched five Gold Medals and set up as many New National Records was declared the Best Swimmer in U-14 event.

M Ahmad Durrani (Army) who got five Gold Medals and established four New National Records, was adjudged the Best Swimmer in U-16 event.

Youth Affairs and Sports Department Punjab, on the directions of Secretary Youth Affairs and Sports Ehsan Bhutta, launches an awareness campaign among youth against the ‘Addiction of Drugs and Electronic Gadgets’

Lahore, November 23, 2022 (PPI-OT):Youth Affairs and Sports Department Punjab, on the directions of Secretary Youth Affairs and Sports Ehsan Bhutta, has launched an awareness campaign among youth against the ‘Addiction of Drugs and Electronic Gadgets’.

In this regard, the first awareness workshop was organized at Govt College for Boys Gulberg on Thursday. Director Youth Affairs Syed Umair Hassan, Principal Gulberg College, Project Development Specialists, Youth Affairs and Sports Department officers, college professors, Procurement Specialist Qasim Zia, Research Associates Sadia Pervaiz, Abdul Malik, Office Assistant M Adil, Computer Assistant Hafiz Amir Nazir and a large number of students also attended awareness workshop.

Talking on this occasion, Director Youth Affairs Syed Umair Hassan said that talented youth has been a valuable asset of the country and Youth Affairs and Sports Department Punjab is organising awareness workshops to save our youth from the menace of drugs and electronic devices. “We are planning to hold more such awareness workshops in other boys and girls colleges of the province,” he added.

Director Youth Affairs Syed Umair Hassan further said that top health and IT experts are delivering lectures to highlight the damages of drugs and electronic devices. “We are quite upbeat that we will be able to show right direction to our thousands of young boys and girls through our awareness workshops,” he elaborated. Principal Gulberg College on this occasion expressed his gratitude to Secretary Youth Affairs and Sports Ehsan Bhutta for organizing much needed awareness workshops to save the future of thousands of young male and female students of the province.

Lahore, November 23, 2022 (PPI-OT):Extra-curricular activities play an important role in the development of students; this was stated by Vice-Chairman Sports Board Punjab Nadeem Abbas Bara while talking to media on the second day of Annual Sports Day of Dar-e-Arqam School in New Garden Town on Wednesday.

Vice-Chairman Sports Board Punjab Nadeem Abbas Bara, who was Chief Guest on the second day of Annual Sports Day of Dar-e-Arqam School, lauded the school management for organising healthy activity for young students. “School management is giving equal attention to physical and mental health of students which is highly appreciable. Participation in sports activities builds self-esteem in students,” he added.

Leader of Jamaat-e-Islami Lahore Ahmad Salman Baloch, Managing Director Dar-e-Arqam School M Yaseen Khan, Director M Arifeen Khan and Sports Secretary Dar-e-Arqam School Jahangir Esar were also present on this occasion. Vice-Chairman Sports Board Punjab Nadeem Abbas Bara also witnessed tug-of-war, martial arts, fruit race and other competitions on this occasion. Vice-Chairman Sports Board Punjab Malik Nadeem Abbas Bara awards a cheque of Rs 200,000 to Gujranwala’s brave university student Bisma Shahid 

Lahore, November 23, 2022 (PPI-OT):Vice-Chairman Sports Board Punjab Malik Nadeem Abbas Bara awarded a cheque of Rs 200,000 (Rs two lakh) to Gujranwala’s university student Bisma Shahid, who demonstrated wonderful courage and foiled a robbery attempt by snatching gun from thieves.

Vice-Chairman Sports Board Punjab Malik Nadeem Abbas Bara gave the cheque of Rs 200,000 to Bisma Shahid at his office in National Hockey Stadium on Monday. Bisma’s mother Yasmeen Shahid, Ch Shahid Iqbal, Mian Zahid, Ch Nasrullah Wariach, Ch Shabeer Wariach, Ch Majeed Wariach, Shahbaz Bara, Tariq Bara, Yasir Bara and Atif Joiyya were also present on this occasion.

Talking on this occasion, Vice-Chairman Sports Board Punjab Malik Nadeem Abbas Bara lauded the bravery of university student Bisma Shahid and said that all the young boys and girls should act like courageous Bisma Shahid in such situations. “We are proud of her bravery and definitely it is the best example for young generation to follow,” he added.
