Ms. Faryal Talpur holds a meeting with Arsalan Malik, Head of United Nations Sub Office on Drugs and Crime, to discuss drug control in Sindh 

Karachi, November 23, 2022 (PPI-OT):Pakistan Peoples Party’s Women Wing President and Chairperson Standing Committee on Home, Ms. Faryal Talpur held a meeting with Arsalan Malik, Head of United Nations Sub Office on Drugs and Crime today at Zardari House, Karachi. During the meeting, the provincial strategy on fixing the fast rising ratio of drugs including its control was discussed.

For this, some collaborative initiatives by Anti-Narcotics Force with Sindh Government including UNODC support were also reviewed and appreciated. It was discussed that the Education Dept in the province would be asked to enlist the School Councillors; who’d be trained to orient the students in the province.

During the meeting it was also discussed that more drug rehabilitation related initiatives including training to the youth would also be launched in other cities of Sindh after Karachi and Hyderabad. The meeting was also attended by Sohail Anwar Siyal, former Sindh Home Minister, Qasim Soomro, Parliamentary Secretary on Health in Sindh and Saleem Raza Jalbani, Chairman STEVTA in Sindh.

Sir Ganga Ram’s great-granddaughter Kesha Ram Hinsdale calls on CM Chaudhry Parvez Elahi 

Lahore, November 23, 2022 (PPI-OT):Ms Kesha Ram Hinsdale, the great-granddaughter of Sir Ganga Ram – the father of modern Lahore, met Chief Minister Punjab Chaudhry Parvez Elahi at his office along with her husband Jacob Croteau Hinsdale.

The CM appreciated the valuable services of Sir Ganga Ram in the social sector and announced the restoration of Gangaram’s residence in Taxali Gate to convert it into a museum. Ganga Ram served the people regardless of race and colour and dedicated his life to the service of humanity; he noted and added that the world never forgets those who served human beings. Ganga Ram is still alive in hearts, he stated.

Chief Minister Parvez Elahi pointed out that he built a new 200-bed emergency block in Ganga Ram Hospital in his previous tenure and inaugurated the first phase of the mother and child block in this hospital. Medicines are available free of cost in all the emergency rooms of the government hospitals of Punjab, he remarked.

Through the health card, every citizen of Punjab can get free treatment for up to one million rupees per year. Cancer treatment through modern cyber knife technology has also been included in the health card; CM added and concluded that the Punjab government has allocated 125 billion rupees annually for free treatment through the health card.

Kesha Ram Hinsdale said that she visited Ganga Ram Hospital where patients are getting free medicines and the best treatment. It is heartening to see the mother and child block in Ganga Ram Hospital. Chief Minister Parvez Elahi’s work in the health sector is seen in the real sense for the convenience of the common man; she said and added that she will never forget it.

CM Chaudhry Parvez Elahi laid foundation stone of the construction and extension of road from bridge 114-10/r Multan-Vehari road to bridge 132-10/r Multan-Dunyapur road 

Lahore, November 23, 2022 (PPI-OT):Chief Minister Punjab Chaudhry Parvez Elahi urged to support Imran Khan as he is the only honest leader after Quaid-e-Azam. The nation has got a leader like Imran Khan and they should be thankful as well as pray for him.

CM vowed that we will work together with PTI for the welfare of the masses. Pakistan will lead under the leadership of Imran Khan and the green passport will attain respect across the globe. CM Parvez Elahi was addressing a big public rally at Jahanian today.

The Chief Minister stated that we would give such a humiliating defeat to PML-N that they would never be able to regain their ground. Shahbaz Sharif did not feel ashamed even after going to Sharm El Sheikh and Shahbaz Sharif does not know how to ask for money. He denounced that Shahbaz Sharif, Nawaz Sharif and PML-N did not do anything for the well-being of the masses.

Those rulers who come into power to mint money do not get any divine blessings and reward. He stated that he had left Rs. 400 billion surplus in the national exchequer in his previous tenure. We are working jointly with the PTI for the religion and things are getting easier with the blessings of religion. If the children do not recite Nazra and Quranic translation then they cannot become doctors and engineers.

The public will be pleased when they are provided facilities. He stated that he would visit again before elections and ask whether satisfactory public work has been done or not adding that he would frequently visit Jahanian.

The Chief Minister announced to give ownership rights to all the kachi abadies of Jahanian and disclosed that we are upgrading Tehsil Headquarter Hospital Jahanian from 40 beds to 150 beds. Blood bank and labour room will also be established in the hospital. Trauma centre will be established in Jahanian and Bahauddin Zakria University Campus will be set up in Jahanian and Kacha Khoo.

Girls Degree College of Jahanian will be upgraded and new children hospital will also be established in Jahanian. The scope of speedo bus service will be enhanced upto Jahanian and Thatta Sadiq Abad. 11 BHUs of Jahanian will be provided ambulances and rescue-1122 motorbike service will be launched in Jahanian.

Rs. 20 crore will be allocated for the sewerage system of Thatta Sadiq Abad. 100 KM Carpeted roads will be constructed in PP-210 and PP-209. 50 filtration plants will be installed in NA-147 constituency. MRI machine will be installed in the district headquarters hospital Khanewal. He highlighted that from where he had left the welfare work of the poor people will again be started from there. Female students will be awarded double scholarship in south Punjab.

Free solar pumps will given to every farmer holding less than 12. 5 acres of land. Earlier, CM Parvez Elahi laid the foundation stone of the construction and extension of road from bridge 114-10/R Multan Vehari Road to bridge 132-10/R Multan Dunyapur Road.

The total cost on the construction will amount to Rs. 71. 40 crore on the 15 KM long road and lacs of residents will be given transportation facilitation with the construction of this road. The transportation of vegetables from the fields to the market will be facilitated. The farmers will especially be facilitated to transport fruits and vegetables to the market.

MPA Faisal Niazi, PTI leader Syed Fakhar Imam, Nawabzada Abdul Razzaq Khan Niazi, Provincial Advisor Ayaz Khan Niazi, Khalid Javed Waraich and other addressed the public rally. SBP makes excellent arrangements for live screening of Pak-England T20 World Cup final on country’s biggest screen at National Hockey Stadium: Director General Sports Punjab Muhammad Tariq Qureshi 

Lahore, November 23, 2022 (PPI-OT):Sports Board Punjab, on the directions of Director General Sports Punjab Muhammad Tariq Qureshi, has finalized all preparations to show Pakistan-England T20 World Cup final match on country’s biggest screen at world’s biggest National Hockey Stadium on Sunday (Nov 13, 2022).

Director General Sports Punjab Muhammad Tariq Qureshi in a statement on Saturday said that former captain Inzamam-ul Haq and various sports and showbiz stars will also witness the T20 World Cup final match being played at Melbourne, Australia. “Crazy cricket fans will be provided with the best facilities at the National Hockey Stadium during the live telecasting of the T20 World Cup final match”.

Director General Sports Punjab M Tariq Qureshi said that there will be no entry fee for cricket enthusiasts to watch thrilling T20 World Cup final clash in National Hockey Stadium.

Director Admin Syed Umair Hassan and Deputy Director Planning Rauf Bajwa on Saturday inspected all the arrangements for showing Pak-England T20 World Cup final match on the country’s biggest screen. “We are making arrangements to accommodate around 30,000 passionate cricket spectators at the grand venue,” he added.

Director Admin Syed Umair Hassan further said that all necessary measures are being taken to provide top level security to thousands of male and female cricket fans including several families.

Lahore, November 23, 2022 (PPI-OT):Director General Sports Punjab Muhammad Tariq Qureshi and former captain Inzamam-ul-Haq announced that Sports Board Punjab is going to show the final of T20 Cricket World Cup on a giant screen at National Hockey Stadium on Nov 13, 2022 (Sunday).

Director General Sports Punjab Muhammad Tariq Qureshi and former captain Inzamam-ul-Haq made this announcement while addressing a press conference at National Hockey Stadium on Friday. Director Admin Syed Umair Hassan, Coordinator/Focal Person of Punjab Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Rana Arsalan Manj and other officials were also present on this occasion.

Addressing a press conference, former captain Inzamam-ul-Haq said the T20 Cricket World Cup title clash will be shown live on Pakistan’s biggest screen at a grand venue of National Hockey Stadium where over 30,000 spectators will enjoy the thrilling contest. “The entry for cricket enthusiasts will be totally free and I would like to invite cricket crazy fans including families to come to National Hockey Stadium and cheer for the national cricket team in the thrilling final clash,” he added.

Inzamam-ul-Haq, who was a key member of the 1992 World Cup winning cricket team, further said that history is repeating itself in the 2022 T20 Cricket World Cup. “Pakistan cricket team experienced the same circumstances 30 years ago when they struggled in the initial stages of the World Cup in 1992.

Later, Pakistan also defeated New Zealand in the semi-final match before facing England in the final encounter and eventually emerged winners”. Inzamam-ul-Haq expressed his wish that Pakistan will win the T20 World Cup at the same venue of Melbourne like 1992.

Inzamam-ul-Haq thanked Director General Sports Punjab M Tariq Qureshi for making befitting arrangements for showing the final on the big screen. “Sports Board Punjab under the leadership of Director General Sports Punjab M Tariq Qureshi is taking brilliant initiatives for the promotion and development of sports across the province,” he stated.

Director General Sports Punjab Muhammad Tariq Qureshi on this occasion said that superstar Inzamam-ul-Haq who played in the 1992 World Cup final, will watch the final of the T20 World Cup with the crazy cricket fans at the National Hockey Stadium. “Sports Board Punjab also showed the final of Asia Cricket Cup on the country’s biggest screen. Cricket fans will be provided with the best facilities at the National Hockey Stadium during the live telecasting of the T20 World Cup final match”.

Director General Sports Punjab Muhammad Tariq Qureshi further said that Sports Board Punjab is taking all important measures for the promotion of sports. “Our goal is to produce a new batch of U-16 players and for this purpose, we are conducting talent hunt schemes in all tehsils to groom young players of U-10 to U-16 age groups”.

Director General Sports Punjab Muhammad Tariq Qureshi further informed that we are planning to groom as many as 10 lakh young players from different schools of the province under the ‘Olympic Dream’ campaign. “For this purpose, the hiring process of international level master coaches and trainers is going to be started in near future”.

Director General Sports Punjab Muhammad Tariq Qureshi inaugurates Sports Board Punjab’s first ever Athletics Academy at Punjab Stadium

Lahore, November 23, 2022 (PPI-OT):Director General Sports Punjab Muhammad Tariq Qureshi inaugurated Sports Board Punjab’s first ever Athletics Academy at Punjab Stadium on Friday.

Additional Secretary Sports Malik Sanaullah, Director Admin Syed Umair Hassan, Director Sports Chand Perveen, President Pakistan Athletics Federation Maj-Gen (Retd) Akram Sahi, Secretary M Zafar, Deputy Director Rauf Bajwa, Commonwealth Games Gold Medallist and Olympian Arshad Nadeem, international athlete Shajar Abbas, Divisional Sports Officer Tariq Khanzada, DSO Tanveer Shah, Senior athletics coach Salman Butt, Divisional Athletics Coach Shaista Qaiser, several athletes and other top officials were also present on this occasion.

Addressing the opening ceremony, Director General Sports Punjab Muhammad Tariq Qureshi said that Athletics Academy is being launched for the promotion of athletics among the young generation of the province. “This academy is a continuation of our talent hunt campaign in different games. In recent days, we have launched tennis, swimming and table tennis academies in Nishtar Park Sports Complex,” he informed.

Director General Sports Punjab Muhammad Tariq Qureshi informed that 30 selected emerging athletes of 73rd Punjab Games will also be invited at SBP Athletics Academy for training. “Commonwealth Games Gold Medallist and Olympian Arshad Nadeem along with other coaches will impart training to young athletes at this academy”.

Director General Sports Punjab Muhammad Tariq Qureshi further informed that these academies in Punjab are being established as per our plan to spread a network of different sports academies to provide top standard training to our talented athletes. “Sports Board Punjab is also going to launch a cricket academy on 18th of this number”.

President Pakistan Athletics Federation Maj-Gen (Retd) Akram Sahi on this occasion thanked Director General Sports Punjab Muhammad Tariq Qureshi for playing a key role for the establishment of much needed athletics academy.

He urged the young athletes to work hard like Arshad Nadeem and Shajar Abbas. “If our youth work like these stars, we are quite hopeful to find several athletics stars like Arshad Nadeem and Shajar Abbas”. On this occasion, Girls U-12 and Boys U-14 athletes presented exhibition athletics matches.
