Chief Minister Punjab Chaudhry Parvez Elahi inaugurates release of funds to 55000 flood affectees

Lahore, November 17, 2022 (PPI-OT):Chief Minister Punjab Chaudhry Parvez Elahi has started the release of relief money for more than 55 thousand flood victims. While addressing the ceremony of distributing relief funds to the flood victims, the CM said that he was also given an opportunity by Allah Almighty and he delivered but did not beat the drum like Shehbaz Sharif. Ireland and Pakistan players look ahead to Women’s League

Lahore, November 17, 2022 (PPI-OT):The first-ever tour of Ireland’s national women’s team to Pakistan completed on Wednesday (16 November). The two teams played three ICC Women’s Championship matches and three T20Is over the two weeks. Pakistan completed a comfortable clean-sweep in the ODIs, but the tourists fought back to won the closely contested T20I series 2-1.

After witnessing the culture of Pakistan, the Irish players have expressed their desire to return to the country to be part of the inaugural The Women’s League set to be played in March 2023 in Rawalpindi.

T20I Player of the series, Ireland’s Gaby Lewis said, “Everything has been great here and if I get an opportunity [to play in The Women’s League] I will definitely come here and play. Everyone has looked after us so well, it’s great, we have been looked by all very well.”

Orla Prendergast, who scored 96 runs and bagged three wickets in the T20I series, said, “That’d be a great opportunity. I think anyone who gets the opportunity to come over and play, it’s obviously a great country to come to and play.”

Eimear Richardson said, “Yes, absolutely. I think all the players here; they’re really excited for the opportunity to be available for The Women’s League. And then I suppose, the exposure, the experience of what that opportunity would bring. We’re all just so excited to be available for selection.”

Muneeba Ali – who scored her maiden ODI century during the series – said, “This has been a great initiative from the PCB, the league will help us understand foreign players’ game plan. The league will provide us a platform to learn from foreign players, it will increase our confidence when we play with foreign players and ultimately players will benefit from it.”

VC Engr. Prof. Dr. Athar Mahboob and other delegations of IUB participated in All Punjab University Innovation Expo 2022

Bahawalpur, November 17, 2022 (PPI-OT):A delegation of the Islamia University of Bahawalpur, under the leadership of Vice Chancellor Engr. Prof. Dr. Athar Mahboob, participated in the All Punjab University Innovation Expo 2022 at the Punjab Higher Education Commission. In the exhibition, 259 projects were presented by 135 private and public universities of Punjab.

Projects in civil, chemical, mechanical, meta-allergy, electrical, electronics, computer science and IT, health, medicine, biomedical sciences, agriculture, veterinary sciences, social sciences, business, economics and arts were placed in the exhibition.

Samina Ejaz, Associate Professor, Institute of Biochemistry and Biotechnology, the Islamia University of Bahawalpur, was awarded the first prize for presenting the best project in the field of Biomedical Sciences. Her scientific research is related to cancer treatment and food industry, which was presented at the conference.

The scientists, experts and industrialists present in the conference appreciated it a lot. On this occasion, Vice Chancellor spoke in detail about the current scenario, changing conditions, opportunities and challenges in the field of higher education at the national and global level.
