Military Attached of Sudan calls on IIUI President

Islamabad, October 29, 2022 (PPI-OT):H.E. Brig. (PSC) Aldie Abdallah Altieb Ahmad, Military Attached of the Republic of Sudan, called on H.E. Dr Hathal Homoud Alotaibi, President, International Islamic university Islamabad (IIUI) at his office in Faisal Masjid Campus. During the meeting issues pertaining to mutual interests were discussed. Role of IIUI in Muslim societies and services of its large number of Alumni hailing from Sudan also came under discussion.

Both the IIUI President and Military Attached agreed that more opportunities to facilitate the students such as exchange of delegations, be provided to the students of African countries. On the occasion, IIUI President apprised of the vision, new strategic plan and future objectives of the university. The Military Attached hailed the services of IIUI adding that its Alumni in Sudan are contributing in the development and progress of country.

IUB organized a seminar titled “Nation and State Building Strategy of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) 

Bahawalpur, October 29, 2022 (PPI-OT):Directorate of Public Relations, the Islamia University of Bahawalpur Department of political science, faculty of social science and centre of peace and conflict resolution conducted a seminar in the wake of “Ashraa e Rahmat” entitled “Nation and State Building strategy by Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)” in Faculty of Arts Auditorium. Mr. Husni Mubarak, lecturer department of political science moderated the Session. Guest Speaker Prof Dr. Muhammad Ibraheem Lodhi, Director Seerat Chair, BZU addressed students about contemporary issues of Nation and State Building. He thoroughly discussed the Importance and relevancy of Religion with State and quoted several examples about Strategic Leadership of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

Prof Dr. Abdus Sattar from Islamic learning also joined the Session. He shared his views on seminar topic and led dua at the end of the session. Ending remarks were given by Dean Faculty of Social Sciences Prof. Dr. Rubina Bhatti. The Seminar was concluded with Vote of Thanks by Chairman Department of Political Science, Prof. Dr. Syed Musawwar Hussain Bukhari. Seminar was attended by large number of students, faculty members and civil society. Guest speaker answered many questions of students at the end of his speech. Chairman along with Dean Faculty of social sciences together presented souvenir to guest speaker.

HEC has approved the Islamia University of Bahawalpur to start MS Biomedical Engineering program 

Bahawalpur, October 29, 2022 (PPI-OT):Directorate of Public Relations, the Islamia University of Bahawalpur Higher Education Commission has approved the Islamia University of Bahawalpur to start MS Biomedical Engineering programme. The MS Biomedical Engineering program will be launched in the Department of Information and Communication Engineering, Faculty of Engineering. The Islamia University of Bahawalpur is the first university in South Punjab to launch a state-of-the-art MS Biomedical Engineering program.

For this program, Dr. Engr. Muhammad Ali Qureshi, Associate Professor and Dr. Engr. Asjid Amin, Associate Professor has been appointed to initiate this program. The Higher Education Commission has approved the 49 MS and 23 PhD programs in the last three years. Vice Chancellor Engr. Prof. Dr. Athar Mahboob, Pro Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Naveed Akhtar congratulated Dean Faculty of Engineering Engr. Third International Corrosion Conference 

Lahore, October 29, 2022 (PPI-OT):At the conference, Ameeq Farooq, Lecturer, Institute of Metallurgy and Materials Engineering (IMME), Faculty of Chemical and Materials Engineering, University of the Punjab, Lahore and also the Secretary, AMPP Pakistan Chapter presented a paper titled “Performance of bismuth added Al-Zn sacrificial anodes for marine applications”. His paper was greatly appreciated for the R and Decried out by him and his team for the development of Al-Zn anode used extensively in marine and concrete structures along the shoreline. These anodes are used by Pakistan ship yard and Pakistan Navy. Also he was the only speaker representing the academic community.

The main sponsor of the event was M/s Inspect test (Pvt.) Ltd (Deacon Group) active as an internationally certified integrated service provider, co-sponsored by M/s Valois Integrity and Safety Pakistan (Pvt.) Limited and supported by The Association of Materials Prevention and Protection (AMPP) Pakistan Chapter. The main aim of the conference was to enhance corrosion awareness and offer solutions to the stake holder, people in Pakistan, provide a platform for networking between the corrosion professional, academia and R and Institute and service provider companies for corrosion mitigation. The event was held on September 27, 2022 at the Pearl Continental Hotel in Karachi.

Ltd from China and his local representative Qaiser Armughan, Javaid Iqbal Niazi, Corrosion Engineer from Mari Petroleum Company Limited (MPCL), Muhammad Khurram Yousaf, Chief Operating Officers, Ma’Aref Technologies (Pvt.) Ltd and Nizar Marjaba, Cortex, UAE representative also presented in the conference.

The conference was attended by well over 165 professionals from all over Pakistan. In the concluding session, Maqsood Ali, President HR, Deacon (Pvt.) Ltd, Habib Raza Khan, General Manger Inspectest (Pvt.) Limited and Liaquat Raza Member At-Large AMPP Pakistan Chapter presented the shields to the invited speakers who presented papers at the Conference.

Eminent businessman and an industrial tycoon of Pakistan Sir Anwar Pervaiz calls on CM Ch Parvez Elahi 

Lahore, October 29, 2022 (PPI-OT):Chief Minister Punjab Chaudhry Parvez Elahi met with an eminent businessman and an industrial tycoon of Pakistan Sir Anwar Pervaiz at CMO today. Sir Anwar Pervaiz appreciated the conducive steps being taken by the CM for the promotion of business and investment in the province. He lauded that the Chief Minister took exemplary steps for the investment opportunities in a short span of time. He said that the steps being taken by the CM for the facilitation of the investors are praiseworthy adding that the CM is also performing invaluable work to resolve the problems of the overseas Pakistanis.

CM while talking with Sir Anwar Pervaiz stated that the investors busy in eradicating the poverty and making endeavours for the economic prosperity are worthy benefactors of the country. He disclosed that our government provided a conducive environment for making real investment for the first time in the province adding that Punjab is a fertile land for doing investment. He said that he is himself monitoring to safeguard the foreign investment adding that we will not let the file relating to investment to red-tapism and no one will be allowed to interfere in the matters of overseas Pakistanis.

CM highlighted that we are resolving all the problems of the investors under a single roof. He informed that in order to increase investment in the real estate and for the facilitation of the people we have reduced 100 percent stamp fee on the transfer of property and have fixed one percent fee across Punjab. CM Ch Parvez Elahi approves Rs 12 billion funds for the rehabilitation and settlement of the flood-affectees – Press Release issued by Mediacell, Pakistan Muslim League

Chief Minister Punjab Chaudhry Parvez Elahi presided over a high level meeting at CMO in which the Head of Punjab Ehsas Program Dr. Sania Nishtar, Provincial Minister Mohsin Leghari and former Federal Minister Moonis Elahi attended. CM accorded approval of the funds amounting to Rs 12 billion on the whole for the rehabilitation and settlement of the flood- affectees. CM revealed that the Punjab government will provide Rs 9 billion for the rehabilitation and settlement of the flood-affected people adding that Rs 3. 2 billion were being collected in the telethon on the appeal of Chairman PTI Imran Khan in which he also participated.

He disclosed that Rs10 billion have been allocated to redress the losses of houses and the livestock while Rs 2 billion have been allocated to provide financial assistance to the farmers whose fields were ruined due to the flood. He apprised that the farmers having less than 12. 5 acres of land will be disbursed Rs 5000/per acre while Rs 2 lac/financial aid will be given on the falling down of adobe houses while Rs 4 lac/financial aid will be given to the owners of the bricked houses. He informed that the owners of the livestock will also be given financial aid in the flood-affected areas.

CM highlighted that the Punjab government is doing the rehabilitation work of the flood-affectees from its own resources and from the CM Flood Relief Fund. He vowed that we will fulfil our responsibility by redressing the losses of all the food- affected people. CM denounced that the financial assistance not being given to the flood- affectees of Punjab by the Federal government is highly sorrowful and worth condemnation adding that the Federal government left the flood-affectees of Punjab alone.

CM censured that the Federal government did not give even a single penny to help the flood-affectees of Punjab adding that the attitude of the Federal government tantamounts to doing an injustice with the flood-affectees of Punjab. CM underscored that the Punjab government is determined to rehabilitate the flood-affectees from its own resources. Principal Secretary to CM Muhammad Khan Bhatti, Senior Member Board of Revenue, concerned Secretaries and other officials also attended the meeting.
