Students of Law Faculty completed the internship program at Law Directorate Rawalpindi 

Turbat, October 28, 2022 (PPI-OT):As per the HEC syllabus of LLB 5 years, an internship program of six to eight weeks is compulsory for each student. In the fulfilment of this requirement, ten students from the 8th semester (LLB 5-years) of the Faculty of Legal Education were selected for an internship at Law Directorate in Rawalpindi.

The three weeks internship program from 13th June to 1st July 2022 was sponsored and facilitated by the F.C South Balochistan. The event included lecture sessions by prominent scholars, presentations, and moot courts by the interns.

The students were briefed about the army and its broad organization, the Law Directorate and its mandate understanding the basics of research, Lawfare, judicial activism and challenges, defamation laws, introduction to military laws in Pakistan, the law of armed conflict, and international law, legal aspects of Kashmir Issue, Lawfare in the Russian- Ukraine Conflict, international law and national security, criminal justice system in Pakistan, corporate law and challenges of corporate governance, vetting of legal documents, promotion in the judicial system of Pakistan, the role of the bar association in the dispensation of justice, and anti-money laundering and counter-terror financing during the internship program.

Besides Islamabad and Kashmir, the interns also visited the army museum and ISPR at Rawalpindi, the Kashmir monument at Muzaffarabad, the Kashmir Institute of Management and Technology, the crossing point between Pak India Border at Titwal and Chakothi, and other prominent places. At the end of the internship program, the students were awarded certificates.

Workshop on writing an effective Research Proposal held at Turbat University. 

Turbat, October 28, 2022 (PPI-OT):The Directorate of Academics organized a workshop on writing an effective Research Proposal on October 26, 2022, in the video conference hall. The resource person for the workshop was Dr. Ghulam Jan, Assistant Professor, of Management Sciences and Director of ORIC, University of Turbat.

The workshop was attended by faculty members and students of various departments. The participants were briefed about the key components of research proposal writing. Dr. Adeel Ahmed, Director of Academics thanked the resource person and the participants for their time and participation in the workshop.

Plantation Drive by Student Affairs Department

Swabi, October 28, 2022 (PPI-OT):A plantation drive was organized by the Student Affairs Department on Friday 21 October 2022 at GIK Institute. Character Building Society, Project Topi and Horticulture Department assisted in the plantation drive. Rector GIK Institute Prof. Dr Fazal Ahmed Khalid (SI) inaugurated the plantation drive. Students, faculty members and staff members actively participated in the plantation drive. It was a step taken in the fall 2022 semester towards the Clean and Green Pakistan.

Later a session regarding green and clean campaign was delivered to the students, faculty members and staff members on the site of the plantation drive. Trees provide clean atmosphere to all the living beings, and it helps in the purification of the Oxygen. It also helps in overcoming the heated temperature and it also helps in reducing the floods. The participants were motivated to help in extending the plantation drive in their hometown.

Kashmir Black Day, 27th October, 2022 

Faisalabad, October 28, 2022 (PPI-OT):A special walk to commemorate Kashmir Black Day was organized today in the National Textile University by students’ societies. Each year, October 27th is observed as Kashmir Black Day to mark protest and resentment by Kashmiris around the world in commemorating the forced occupation by Indian security forces of the Jammu and Kashmir valley. Students, staff and faculty members participated in walk to convey to the world that India has occupied their motherland illegally and against their aspirations.

Community Service Drive on Waste Management 2022 (Session No. 1) Arranged by SPE

Faisalabad, October 28, 2022 (PPI-OT):The Society of Polymer Engineering (Department of Materials) (SPE 22-23) has initiated “Community Service Drive on Waste Management 2022”. The volunteers conducted their 1st session in public school on October 26, 2022.

The purpose of this drive was to provide awareness of plastic usage and disposal by introducing the proper ways of sorting plastic waste and methods of its utilizations. The drive also spread awareness about health issues regarding plastics usage and its adverse effects on the environment.

The objectives of this session were to introduce business start-up tips, responsibilities for business development and growing fields for polymer graduates; and to make them aware of possible industrial challenges as well as how can them avail job opportunities. The target audience was the students of final year.
