CM Ch Parvez Elahi felicitates Chinese President

Lahore, October 24, 2022 (PPI-OT):Chief Minister Punjab Chaudhry Parvez Elahi has congratulated Chinese President Xi Jinping on being elected for the third time. In a statement issued on Monday, the CM said that the election of President Xi Jinping for the third time is an expression of the full confidence of the people of China in him. This unique honour is an acknowledgement of his devoted services to the nation; he said and noted that Xi Jinping is a sincere friend of Pakistan as well as an eminent world leader.

The Chinese President’s ideology is based on high human values and broad thinking of public interest. Under his leadership, China has developed at a very fast pace. He also laid the foundation for a secure future through the avant-garde belt and road project. President Xi Jinping’s brilliant advocacy of economic globalization is based on strong people-to-people ties, he further said.

CM Ch Parvez Elahi condemns slaying of senior anchor Arshad Sharif in Kenya 

Lahore, October 24, 2022 (PPI-OT):Chief Minister Punjab Chaudhry Parvez Elahi has strongly condemned the slaying of senior anchor-person Arshad Sharif in Kenya and extended heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved family. Parvez Elahi has expressed a deep sense of sorrow and grief over the incident and prayed that may Allah Almighty grant patience to the heirs. Arshad Sharif’s programs used to be different and unique; he noted and concluded that the government equally shares grief.

CM Ch Parvez Elahi message on World Polio Day 

Lahore, October 24, 2022 (PPI-OT):Chief Minister Punjab Chaudhry Parvez Elahi asserted that all are required to contribute to establishing a polio-free society and added that this responsibility should be fulfilled at all costs. In his message issued on Monday, the CM said that polio continues to challenge lives by crippling children’s lives. Today, we pledge to eradicate this disease from its roots; he stated and maintained that we could make society polio-free for future generations. Parents are requested to give their children anti-polio drops to protect them from the deadly disease, he added. He said: ‘I salute the polio workers working as vanguards in this war. Disability is very painful but it could be avoided with the polio vaccine.

The CM noted that the fight against polio is the battle for the future of the nation’s youth. The Special Campaign to Eradicate Polio (SNIDs) is starting today from Lahore, Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, Mianwali, Khushab, Sialkot, Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar, Layyah, Multan, Muzaffargarh, Rahim Yar Khan, DG Khan and Rajanpur. This campaign would continue for seven days in Lahore, Rawalpindi, and Faisalabad and it would be run for five days in other districts, he mentioned.

Giving further details, he said that more than 97, 000 workers would administer anti-polio drops to 11. 18 million children less than five years of age. No polio case has been reported in Punjab for a long time, while its virus has been found in the environment of big cities (Lahore and Rawalpindi). The presence of the polio virus is a warning to parents to give their children two doses of the anti-polio vaccine during each campaign, he concluded.

President Asif Ali Zardari condemns slogans against institutions

Islamabad, October 24, 2022 (PPI-OT):Former President of Pakistan and President Pakistan Peoples Party Parliamentarians, Asif Ali Zardari has strongly condemned sloganeering against institutions in an event held in Lahore yesterday [Sunday]. President Zardari said that no platform should be used against institutions. President Zardari also said that the survival of Pakistan depends on our institutions and it is a pity that one person has given nothing but abuse and hatred to this country.

President Zardari said that we all know where this person is coming from and at whose request he is spreading hatred against institutions. President Zardari also said that our soldiers and officers are sacrificing their lives in their uniforms and slogans against them are highly condemnable.

In her condolence message, she said that it was saddened and shocking to learn about the sad demise of journalist Arshad Sharif’s. “We extended ours heartfelt sympathies and condolences with the bereaved family of late Arshad Sharif.”, She added. She prayed for the eternal peace of departed soul and prayers for the bereaved family for bearing this irreparable loss.

Chairman PPP and Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari addresses the parliament 

Islamabad, October 24, 2022 (PPI-OT):Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party, Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on the floor of the national assembly condemning the killing of senior journalist, Arshad Sharif in Kenya said that it is being investigated and the acting foreign secretary is in touch with the Kenyan authorities and the High Commissioner in Pakistan. We all sympathise with the family of Arshad Sharif.

Foreign Minister, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari welcomed the two newly elected members of the National Assembly, Ali Musa Gillani and Hakeem Baloch from Multan and Malir respectively. He said that we have fought the false propaganda and defeated the person who hurls baseless accusations towards every opposition party and its leaders. Chairman Bilawal also felicitated the Hindu community all over the world and especially in Pakistan on Diwali.

Talking to media persons, Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that he condoles with the family members, friends and colleagues of journalist Arshad Sharif. The Pakistani High Commission in Kenya is looking into this matter and prime minister, Shehbaz Sharif has also spoken to the President of Kenya on the issue. Pakistan is waiting for the outcome of the investigation in Kenya for future course.

Foreign Minister said that this government fully believes in human rights and freedom of expression. He said that the slogans raised at the Asma Jahangir Conference in Lahore were highly inappropriate. We, as a nation have faced and fought terrorism. The Army has combatted the terrorists valiantly. The Army is on the target of terrorists and is fighting them courageously while offering supreme sacrifices.

He said that repeating Asma Jahangir’s comment was also not appropriate for him as a federal minister. He said that he does not want to create any misunderstanding at a time when the institutions are transitioning into a constitutional role. The Asma Jahangir Conference is a noted platform for political parties, judiciary and human rights’ activists.
