Department of Urdu organizes One-Day Post-Doctoral Research Workshop 

Islamabad, October 23, 2022 (PPI-OT):The Department of Urdu, Faculty of Languages and Literature, FLL of International Islamic University Islamabad has organized a one-day post-doctoral research workshop titled “Formalities of Research and Academic Prose Writing” at Zafar Ishaq Ansari Hall, Imam Abu Hanifah Block of Mail Campus, IIUI.

The one-day training workshop titled “Formalities of Research and Scientific Prose Writing” which was consisted of two sessions. During the first session of workshop Dr. Najiba Arif, Dean Faculty of Languages and Literature, IIUI and Dr. Abid Syal, Associate Professor, National University of Modern Languages, NUML, Islamabad addressed to the participants. Dr. Aziz Ibnual Hassan, Associate Professor / Chairman, Urdu Department (Male), IIUI and Dr. Rauf Parekh, Director General, National Language Promotion Institute, Islamabad were speakers of the second session of the workshop.

Dr. Najiba Arif, Dean Faculty of Languages and Literature, presented the definitions of academic prose writing during the workshop, Dr. Najiba also briefed about the planning, formal and standard language, logical method, objective method, intellectual and linguistic connections are necessary for academic prose. During the workshop Dr. Syed Kamran Abbas Kazmi, Assistant Professor, Urdu Department highlighted the need and importance of organizing the training workshop.

Dr. Ghulam Farida (in charge of academic programs) and focal person of the workshop gave a detailed introduction among the scholars regarding the first post-doctoral program under the supervision of Department of Urdu, Faculty of Languages and Literature, FLL of International Islamic University, Islamabad.

Dr. Aziz Ibnal Hassan shared the topic “Scientific Prose and Modern Concepts”. Dr. Aziz categorized various texts by appropriating scholarly and literary prose and provided detailed information to the audience regarding modern prose. He added that academic prose should be reasoned, comprehensive and concise, academic prose should be balanced, non-objective and impartial.

Dr. Rauf Parekh shared punctuation and writing issues in Urdu with participants and clarified how to write Urdu scripts. He added that the language is the evolution of the entire civilization. Dr. Bibi Ameena, Lecturer / sub editor, Me’yar, IIUI also briefed about the need and importance of the workshop. Dr. Abid Syal, Associate Professor, National University of Modern Languages, NUML, and Islamabad presented all the steps of Research in detail with the workshop participants.

The scholars of the workshop include, Dr. Salman, Assistant Professor, Higher Education Commission, Swat, Dr. Azmat Rabab, Assistant Professor, Lahore College Women University, Dr. Shahida Rasool, Assistant Professor, President of Department of Urdu Women University, Multan and Dr. Tahir Nawaz, Assistant Professor, Karakoram International University Gilgit, Pakistan.

CM Ch Parvez Elahi attends Diwali Festival and jointly cut a cake with the Hindu and other minority communities 

Lahore, October 23, 2022 (PPI-OT):In connection with the Diwali festival a special ceremony was being organized at CMO in which Chief Minister Punjab Chaudhry Parvez Elahi graced the occasion as a chief guest. CM jointly cut the cake with the Hindu and other minority communities and in connection with the Diwali festival felicitated the Hindu Community living in Pakistan. CM was presented with an ajrak gift on behalf of the Hindu and other minority communities.

CM on this occasion stated that we fully participate in the rejoice and festivities of the Hindu community on the eve of Diwali. He revealed that the minority students are being awarded scholarships from Matric to PhD level in the government educational institutions adding that 2 percent quota has been fixed for the minority communities in the higher educational institutions.

He stated that directions have been issued to ensure implementation on the 5 percent quota in the employments for the minority communities adding that 50 percent scholarships under the educational scholarship scheme in the central Punjab, 35 percent in the south Punjab and 15 percent in the northern Punjab are being awarded to the minority students. He apprised that scholarships up to 50 thousand rupees are being awarded to the minority students obtaining 50 percent marks from Matric to higher education level.

CM underscored that by participating in one another merriments promotes tolerance and brotherhood and to safeguard the rights of minorities is the responsibility of the state. CM highlighted that all the minorities including the Hindu community have equal rights adding that the Hindu and other minority communities are being provided equal opportunities to attain education. CM outlined that giving better treatment and respect to the minorities is the essence of the religion of Islam.

CM Ch Parvez Elahi visited the shrine of Hazrat Baba Farid-ud-Din Masood Ganj Shakar

Lahore, October 23, 2022 (PPI-OT):Chief Minister Punjab Chaudhry Parvez Elahi visited the shrine of Hazrat Baba Farid-ud-Din Masood Ganj Shakar Rehmat Ullah Aleyh at Pakpattan today. CM laid wreath at the shrine of Hazrat Baba Farid-ud-Din Masood Ganj Shakar Rehmat Ullah Aleyh and prayed for the prosperity, integrity of Pakistan and for the prosperity of the people. CM later talked informally with the journalists and announced the construction of an overhead bridge for the facilitation of the devotees and stated that an overhead bridge will be constructed for the facilitation of the visitors for visiting the shrine.

He said that the parking problem will also be resolved and work will soon be started after making an estimate of the construction of an overhead bridge. He apprised that facilities for the visitors visiting the shrine will further be improved. CM stated that the promotion of fortitude, tolerance and brotherhood is the essence of the teachings of Aulia Karram adding that Islam had been spread in the subcontinent due to the teachings of Aulia Karram and the religious scholars. He highlighted that the religious scholars had spread the immortal message of Islam.

He stated that visiting the shrines of Aulia Karram gives solace and spiritual comfort. CM assured to give a sympathetic consideration to the problems being faced by the journalists’ community. He revealed that further steps will be taken after demarcating the land for establishing the Pakpattan Press Club at the earliest. CM underscored that establishing a Journalist Colony for the journalists of Pakpattan will be reviewed and directed the Deputy Commissioner Pakpattan to make demarcation of the land in this regard as soon as possible.

Karachi, October 23, 2022 (PPI-OT):Pakistan People’s Party Secretary General Syed Nair Hussain Bukhari has said in a message on Begum Nusrat Bhutto’s death anniversary that Begum Nusrat Bhutto won the title of mother of democracy from the democratic forces for her courageous struggle by becoming the national leader of the Movement for the Restoration of Democracy. Begum Nusrat Bhutto of which leadership won the honour of raising the slogan of Shabkhon Naanzoor on democracy.

It has been further said that Begum Nusrat Bhutto, the mother of democracy, kept the candle of democracy burning in the dark era, endured severe hardships in the democratic struggle, taught the workers to stand firm against oppression, oppression and abuse. Karachi, October 23, 2022 (PPI-OT):Former President of the State and President of Pakistan People’s Party Parliamentarians Asif Ali Zardari while congratulating the Hindu community of Pakistan and the world celebrating Diwali on the occasion of Diwali said that Diwali is a symbol of the victory of good, former President Asif Ali Zardari said.

That the founding chairman of Pakistan People’s Party, Quaid Awam Zulfikar Ali Bhutto Shaheed, gave equal rights to non-Muslim citizens in the 1973 constitution, the right to religious freedom has been ensured in the Constitution of Pakistan, he said Ms. Benazir Bhutto Shaheed has always supported religious freedom. And advocated the rights of non-Muslim Pakistani citizens, Asif Ali Zardari said that Pakistan is a country of all citizens.
