Sir Syed University hands over flood relief items

Karachi, September 06, 2022 (PPI-OT):Sir Syed University of Engineering and Technology handed over the flood-relief items to the Public Relations Officer of Traffic Police Karachi, Naveed Ahmad Bajwa, Flood relief camp has been set up at the SSUET Campus with the support of Traffic Police Karachi.

On this occasion, the Convener of the Guidance Center and Advisor to the Chancellor, Siraj Khalji, said that the administration, teachers and students of Sir Syed University would continue to help the people and families affected by the recent floods.

Naveed Ahmad Bajwa, Public Relations Officer of, Public Relations Officer of Traffic Police, Deputy Inspector General Karachi appreciated the efforts of Siraj Khalji and the cooperation of Sir Syed University. Students of the university worked hard and their efforts are incomparable.

CSO Holds Webinar on Higher Education

Lahore, September 06, 2022 (PPI-OT):The Career Services Office (CSO) at LUMS held a Higher Education Webinar as a part of its Webinar Series on September 2, 2022. The theme of the webinar was ‘Social Sciences/Humanities and Law Graduate School’. The webinar was held with the aim to provide students with the knowledge that a discipline different from their major can also be chosen as a post-graduate degree to add diversity to their future careers if they deem it right. The event also answered general questions pertaining to admissions, scholarships and profile building.

Students from the Law School and the School of Humanities and Social Sciences participated in this one-hour-long session, along with alumni who are planning on applying for their graduate school. The panellists included alumni, Muhammad Ali Ahmad (2017), Babar Taimoor, (2005) and Omer Aamir (2017). The session started off with introductions. The panellists also shared their candid experiences with the attendees to keep the session light-hearted all the while sharing their respective journeys with real-life examples.

Students were given an insight into the ‘when, how, and what’ of Master’s degree application procedures. Specific examples were shared to give the students a realistic timeline and requirements for pursuing their higher education. The panellists also shared their respective email addresses and LinkedIn profiles so students may contact them if they have more questions.

Homebridge by Beaconhouse signs MoU with British Council for digital library access 

Lahore, September 06, 2022 (PPI-OT):Beaconhouse, Pakistan’s largest network of private educational institutions, under its recently introduced Hybrid A Level School, Homebridge, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the British Council for students, teachers and staff members to access the British Council’s digital library at discounted rates. Ceremony on Pakistan Defense Day at Punjab University 

Lahore, September 06, 2022 (PPI-OT):Former Chief Justice Lahore High Court Justice (retd) Qasim Ali Khan has said that he salutes the martyrs and Ghazis of the armed forces and the people who collectively made the defense of Pakistan invincible on September 06, 1965. He was addressing a seminar organized by Punjab University College of Earth and Environmental Sciences (CEES) on the occasion of Pakistan Defense Day. Air Vice Marshal (r) Sajid Habib, former minister Tahir Ali Javed, CEES Principal Professor Dr. Sajid Rashid, social activist Chaudhry Akhtar Ali, faculty members and students participated on this occasion.

In his address, Justice (r) Qasim Ali Khan said that despite the political differences in 1965, the whole nation was united and fully supported the armed forces in the war. He said that even the children collected donations in the war of 1965. He said that the Muslims in India were still oppressed and India had not accepted the creation of Pakistan to date. He said Pakistan and India had different cultures and being a Muslim we had different traditions which could not be avoided.

He said that the British were not ready for partition of the region and that’s why they made a mess in the partition of India and deprived Pakistan of its right. He said that we must think what was the reason our nation was not united on national issues today. He said that training along with education was needed to unite the nation today. He said that we have to teach our new generation through training and knowledge to stand united in case of natural calamities and national issues. He said that the strengthened institutions strengthen the country.

Air Vice Marshal (retd) Sajid Habib said that actually the nations fight and defend while the armed forces are a part defense system. He said that Pakistan Army, Navy and Air Force made the defense of the country impregnable. He said that before September 6, clashes were going on the border of Kashmir, while on September 6, India attacked the international border. He said that 6 warplanes of Pakistan Air Force under squadron leader Sajjad Haider were flying at Chamb Jharian who was immediately instructed to reach Wagah Border.

He said that the squad reached Wagah border and destroyed Indian Army’s tanks and saved Lahore on September 06. He said that the people helped Pakistan Army and all politicians and the nation supported the army. He said that today unfortunately our elders have divided the nation. He said that there was no leader like Quaid-e-Azam and urged the students to follow his guideline. He said that economic atomic bomb was the biggest bomb and we must make efforts to improve our economy.

Addressing the students, Dr Sajid Rashid Ahmed said that they could contribute to safeguard Pakistan by obtaining higher education. He said that the development of the country depended upon the youth. He said that the youth should come forward and play its role in the development of the country. Tahir Ali Javed said that nation paid tribute to the forces for defending Pakistan. He said that India can’t dare to attack Pakistan after nuclear blasts.

He said that our army never let us down, even the war of 71 would have been won if there was no internal conspiracy. He said that good people should come into politics so that the state of politics in Pakistan could improve. Chaudhry Akhtar said that the people fought the war together with the Pakistani forces on September 6. He said that we have to play a role in the development of Pakistan as a nation.

Punjab University exams notification for “Flood Affected Areas”

Lahore, September 06, 2022 (PPI-OT):Punjab University Department of Examinations has notified that Special Examinations for the ‘students of flood affected areas’ shall also be conducted. The students of flood affected areas are at the option to either appear in the examinations which are scheduled to be started from 9th September, 2022 or in the Special Examinations.

No separate Examination Fee will be charged from the affected students for appearing in the Special Examinations. The schedule of Special Examinations will be notified later. The scheduled exams are MA/MSc Part-I, Part-II Annual 2022, Associate Degree in Commerce Part-I, II Annual 2022, BS 5th Semester Examination, Fall Semester 2021, LLB (3 Year) Part-I, II, III and LLB (5 Year) Part-I, II, III, IV and V Annual 2022.

UAE Ambassador H.E. Hamad Obaid Ibrahim Salim Al Zaabi called on former President Asif Ali Zardari and Chairman PPP and Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari

Karachi, September 06, 2022 (PPI-OT):H.E. Hamad Obaid Ibrahim Salim Al Zaabi, the UAE Ambassador in Islamabad, called on former President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari and Chairman Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and Foreign Minister of Pakistan Bilawal Bhutto Zardari here on Tuesday at Bilawal House. President PPP Asif Ali Zardari and Chairman PPP Bilawal Bhutto Zardari thanked the United Arab Emirates for its assistance to the flood-affected people in Pakistan.

During the meeting, they exchanged views on strengthening bilateral relations. President Asif Ali Zardari said that friendly ties between Pakistan and the UAE are of historical nature. He noted that whenever Pakistan faced tough times, the UAE stood by it. “Trade relations between Pakistan and the UAE should be further enhanced,” he hoped.
