The Islamia University of Bahawalpur has observed World Rabies Day 2022

Bahawalpur, September 30, 2022 (PPI-OT):World Rabies Day is a Global Day of Awareness and advocacy to help raise the profile of rabies Neglected Tropical Disease. The Department of Clinical Medicine and Surgery, Faculty of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, the Islamia University of Bahawalpur has observed World Rabies Day in collaboration with Ghazi Brothers. The Department arranged a walk to create awareness about rabies. The company representative Mr. Muhammad Ejaz Bashir, Area Sales Manager, Multan, Ghazi Bothers elaborated the importance of prophylactic vaccination in dogs and cats against rabies.

Pet owners from the vicinity of the university visited the Veterinary Clinics along with their pet animals. Faculty members of the Department along with veterinary students thoroughly examined the pet animals and vaccinated only healthy ones sponsored by the Ghazi Brothers. In addition, the pet clients were also given useful tips to keep their animals healthy. Prof. Dr. Muhammad Khalid Mansoor, Dean, Faculty of Veterinary and Animal Sciences graced the event by his presence and valuable guidelines.

The Dean appreciated the efforts of the Department under the chairmanship of Prof. Dr. Abdul Qayyum, and encouraged the faculty members, para-veterinary and supporting staff, and veterinary students for organizing such type of activities. The Dean also added that such type of activities are not only useful for the veterinary clients but also provide excellent opportunity to enhance the professional skills of veterinary students. He also said to continue such professional activities in future.

Notice for expression of Interest

Peshawar, September 30, 2022 (PPI-OT):1. The University of Peshawar intends to enhance its financial viability through investment from the participation of the private sector on a build, operate and transfer basis (BOT).

2. As part of this ongoing process, the University of Peshawar hereby invites expression of interest from the private sector for submitting unsolicited proposals in respect of a Concession Agreement for the design, construction, and operation of development of un-utilized land at main University Road on Build, Operate and Transfer (BOT) arrangement. The project would involve the development/ construction/design/ management, and operation of the proposed project.

3. The Concession Agreement is offered and granted in accordance with the University syndicate’s approval to optimize private sector participation in the development, construction, and operation of various projects of infrastructure, career developments, sports, and other sectors.

4. The criteria for evaluation/selection of the successful bidder and broad terms and conditions can be obtained from the office of the Convener, Task Force on Commercialization situated at the Old Press Building, Near National Bank of Pakistan, University Campus Branch, University of Peshawar, on any working day from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM within 15 days after the publication of this notice.

5. Expression of Interest must be delivered to the Registrar, University of Peshawar, Main Administration Block, University of Peshawar, on or before 4:00 PM on October 18, 2022.

Punjab University Department of Gender Studies organizes seminar

Lahore, September 30, 2022 (PPI-OT):Punjab University Department of Gender Studies (DGS) organized a seminar on ‘Participation of Women in Politics’. On this occasion, Director Department of Gender Studies Prof Dr Raa’na Malik, Dr Qaiser Khalid Mahmood, Dr Umbreen Salahuddin, faculty members and students were present.

In her address, Executive Director WISE Ms Bushra Khaliq highlighted the research study related to the representation of women in Parliament and their performance in various positions from 1947 to 2018. She discussed the factors hindering the participation of women in politics. Dr Raa’na Malik said that social change can be brought about in the country by the involvement of young women in politics.

The Islamia University of Bahawalpur celebrated “World Tourism Day” with a theme of “Rethinking Tourism”

Bahawalpur, September 30, 2022 (PPI-OT):Department of Tourism and Hospitality Management, Institute of Business Management and Administrative Sciences celebrated “World Tourism Day” with a theme of “Rethinking Tourism”. On this occasion a seminar was arranged in the Department of Tourism and Hospitality Management, Institute of Business Management and Administrative Sciences as well as a Solidarity walk was conducted in the Baghdad ul Jadeed Campus, IUB.

A large number of students, Faculty members, representatives from Cross Route Bikers Club International and Tourism Development Corporation of Punjab participated in the Walk. A camp was also installed in the premise of Institute of Business Management and Administrative Sciences and representatives from Cross Route Club briefed the participants about installing camps during tours.

Extension in Last Date to Apply for Admissions [Except Merit-based Programs] – Fall 2022

Lahore, September 30, 2022 (PPI-OT):Virtual University of Pakistan has revised Admission Schedule for Fall 2022 semester in view of the delay in declaration of Intermediate results by the Boards/Universities and recent situation in the country due to flood. Therefore, the last date to apply for Admissions – Fall 2022 session other than merit-based programs has been extended.

2. The schedule of merit-based program will remain unchanged.

3. The last date to apply for admissions other than merit-based program is now, Tuesday, October 25, 2022.

4. Classes for Fall 2022 semester will commence with effect from Tuesday, November 1, 2022.

Admission Fee paid after due date(s) by the applicant(s) shall not be considered for admission.

The University reserves the right to make any change(s) in Admission Schedule, as required.

PU DCMR hands over relief items to PU VC

Lahore, September 30, 2022 (PPI-OT):Punjab University Director School of Communication Studies and Chairperson Department of Communication and Media Research Professor Dr Noshina Saleem along with Professor Dr Hanan Ahmed, DCMR Faculty Assistant Professor Dr Seemab Far Bukhari, Dr Tanvir Hussain and Dr Nasim Ishaq presented cash amount collected from the ‘DCMR Flood Relief Camp’ by students and faculty to PU Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Niaz Ahmed Akhtar.

On this occasion Dr Niaz Ahmed Akhtar appreciated the efforts of the faculty and students of the Department of Communication and Media Research and orders the treasure to deposit the money in the Punjab University Flood Relief Funds.
