CM Parvez Elahi chaired a police conference at civil secretariat, former federal minister Moonis Elahi specially participated 

Lahore, September 21, 2022 (PPI-OT):Chief Minister Punjab Chaudhry Parvez Elahi presided over a police conference at Darbar Hall Civil Secretariat. CM while addressing the police conference said that no officer from Punjab will return unlawfully without our permission adding that the Punjab government can stop the officers constitutionally and lawfully under the public interest.

He revealed that we would enhance the residential facilities for the officers in GOR adding that the size of the big houses, residences of GOR will be cut down and apartments will be built as many residences in GOR consist of 8, 8 kanal areas. He highlighted that with the construction of latest designed apartments in place of 8, 8 kanal houses will cater the residential needs of the officers.

CM disclosed that we will set up 150 police patrolling posts adding that the special force will be granted a special salary package in the rural areas. He said that bunkers will be constructed in the rural areas adding that we would provide bullet proof vehicles, armed bullet proof jackets and special tracker installed in the vehicles. He assured that we would provide support and relief to the police.

CM said that the common man should be given speedy justice in the police station and asserted that it is the duty of the police to redress the grievances of every applicant visiting the police station without any discrimination. Parvez Elahi highlighted that when the attitude of a common man changes about the police only then the police culture will change.

He asserted that the need for the common man should not arise to visit the police station frequently for the redressal of their grievances and FIRs. CM directed that FIR should be strong according to law adding that the investigation process should be improved and should be made effective so that the culprits should not escape punishments.

He disclosed that the police officers holding law degrees will be made investigation officers as losing the case by the police due to weak investigation causes embarrassment. CM stated that the patrolling police force has been set up for the assistance of Punjab police adding that we will also resolve other issues of the police.

He said that we are providing vehicles for the police and asserted that three copies of FIRs for monitoring should be sent to the CM Monitoring Cell, to the concerned DIG and to the concerned SSP. CM stated that it is the duty of the police that they should serve the applicant and the applicant should see a clear difference in the police station now.

CM revealed that we are reviewing to set up a force consisting of retired Army commandos for the rural areas. CM paid tributes to the police officers and the staff members for showing excellent performance to maintain law and order during Muharram ul Haram. CM stated that he himself monitored the law and order arrangements during the Chehlum of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) and Shuhada-e-Karbala.

He said that he always adopted a mild attitude towards the officers and the staff members as a Chief Minister Punjab and as Speaker Punjab Assembly. CM appreciated DPOs of Rahim Yar Khan and Rajanpur for taking an effective action against the criminal elements and gangs. Provincial Home Minister Hashim Dogar said that the proposal to give houses to the police officers and the staff members on soft conditions will be reviewed.

Inspector General of Police Faisal Shahkar lauded that the Chief Minister Parvez Elahi resolved the problems of the police earlier and is taking effective steps for the welfare of the police even now. He assured that the police will leave no stone unturned to protect the lives and properties of the people.

Additional IG South Punjab said that we will fulfil the trust of the CM Parvez Elahi and will deliver our duties to the utmost. Former Federal Minister Moonis Elahi specially participated in the police conference.

Provincial Home Minister Hashim Dogar, Chief Secretary Abdullah Sumbal, Principal Secretary to CM Muhammad Khan Bhatti, Inspector General of Police Faisal Shahkar, Additional Chief Secretary Home Asadullah Khan, Additional IGs, DIGs, RPOs and CCPO Lahore attended the police conference while all the CCPOs and DPOs of Punjab attended the conference via video link. The police officers also gave their proposals for the betterment of law and order situation in the province.

Chairman PPP and FM Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s Young Foreign Ministers moot in New York termed as clarion call to world’s youth to prepare for future challenges

Karachi, September 21, 2022 (PPI-OT):On the sidelines of the UNGA’s 77th session, the Young Foreign Ministers’ Conference hosted by Foreign Minister of Pakistan Bilawal Bhutto Zardari envelopes a clarion call to the youth of the world to prepare themselves for the future challenges posing mounting threats to the climate, economy and peace around the globe.

“Being the Foreign Minister of a nation having 64% population under the age of 30, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has timely opened a channel for the youth of the world communicate with each other, discuss the prevailing and the future issues and sort out,” said Surendar Valasai Special Assistant to Sindh Chief Minister for Human Rights.

The meeting of Young Foreign Ministers was held at the Permanent Mission of Pakistan in New York. Foreign Ministers from Canada, Czech Republic, Hungary, Iceland, Lithuania, Liechtenstein, Pakistan, Panama, Qatar, and Serbia participated in the event.

He said that the six-point agenda, which Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari outlined at the Conference shall greatly help in devising strategy and mechanisms to guarantee security, peace and harmony for the humanity.

“This agenda revolves around such challenges as climate change; the evolving global economy impacted by technological and scientific advances, green jobs, modern supply chains, crises and emergencies; peaceful co- existence and resolution of conflicts; the relentless emergence of new weapons driven strategic competition and new scientific innovations; possible future pandemics; and the need for stronger multilateral cooperation.”

Surendar Valasai said that right from Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto to Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, the PPP leadership has always played leading role in the efforts for world peace, economic and climate justice. Be it the first Islamic Summit in Lahore in 1974 or the Youth Diplomacy moot in New York yesterday.

Around 40,000 youth have been given entrepreneurship training under the E-Rozgaar Programme: Punjab Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports Malik Taimoor Masood 

Lahore, September 21, 2022 (PPI-OT):Punjab Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports Malik Taimoor Masood presided over a high-level meeting regarding Provincial Youth Coordination Mechanism at National Hockey Stadium on Wednesday. Director General Sports Punjab Muhammad Tariq Qureshi also chaired the opening session of the key meeting.

Director General Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) Sajid Latif, DG TEVTA, M Asad of UNFPA, Director Admin Syed Umair Hassan, Deputy Secretary Education Punjab Shahzad Jafri, Deputy Secretary HEC, DEO Literacy Department Ghulam Ahmed, Project Manager PILDAT Faheem Khan, Technical Consultant PILDAT Ms Amna Kausar and Maham Taj and Deputy Director Youth Affairs Nazish Noor also attended the meeting.

The officials of PILDAT, PITB, Literacy Department and TEVTA gave a thorough presentation and briefing regarding their initiatives and measures taken for the empowerment and development of youth. The officials of PILDAT, Literacy Department and TEVTA lauded useful projects of Youth Affairs Department Punjab particularly NPSC E-Library.

Addressing the meeting, Punjab Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports Malik Taimoor Masood said Pakistan is quite fortunate country for having around 63 percent youth. “Our youth is very talented. They just need proper direction, guidance and platform to polish their skills and demonstrate their real potential,” he added.

Punjab Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports Malik Taimoor Masood further said that as many as 40,000 youth have been given entrepreneurship training under the E-Rozgaar Programme. “We are bringing more programmes to give our youth maximum opportunities to excel in their respective skills and fields. We are ready to extend every kind of cooperation and facilitation to PILDAT, Literacy, PITB, HEC and TEVTA Departments in their upcoming youth programmes”.

Punjab Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports Malik Taimoor Masood said that Youth Affairs Department Punjab in the collaboration of PITB is making effective efforts to make the E-Rozgar Project a success. “Youth of Punjab province is being imparted technical skills in various relevant fields through e-Rozgar Programme. Dozens of e-Rozgar Programme centres are working right now in the province where thousands of youth are earning respectable livelihood for their families”.

In his address, Director General Sports Punjab Muhammad Tariq Qureshi said that it is right time for us to chalk out a comprehensive plan which could give real benefit to our youth. “Our youth needs to be given technical education. It is a modern era and in this challenging time every youth must learn a skill along with his/her education,” he stressed.

Director General Sports Punjab Muhammad Tariq Qureshi further said that Youth Affairs Department Punjab is making all possible efforts to empower and mobilize our talented young generation. “The potential young male and female students of the province should take part in the maximum number of e-Rozgar Programme courses to make their future bright,” he added.

Highlighting initiatives of Youth Affairs Department Punjab, Director General Sports Punjab Muhammad Tariq Qureshi said that Youth Affairs Department Punjab is providing platform for sports development facilitation and promotion of talent. “It is working comprehensively for youth empowerment, encouragement, entrepreneurship and development,” he elaborated.

Technical Consultant PILDAT Ms Amna Kausar in her briefing highlighted the significance of skills in this modern era. “We should make collective efforts for a better future for our youth at the platform of Youth Parliament. Besides this, we also need to enhance our coordination under the new sports policy. In foreign countries, every individual is bound to learn at least one skill as per his/her interest and passion and we need to introduce and launch this practice in our country properly,” she explained.

The officials of Literacy Department in their presentation said that effective measures are being taken to make the transgender and inmates skilled and educated.

UVAS holds online meeting of deans, principals of veterinary educational institutes of Pakistan under HEC Flood Relief Campaign 2022

Lahore, September 21, 2022 (PPI-OT):The University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences Lahore in collaboration with University of Education (UE) and Higher Education Commission (HEC) arranged online meeting of deans, principals of veterinary educational institutes of Pakistan in connection with HEC Flood Relief Campaign 2022 here at City Campus on Wednesday.

UVAS Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Nasim Ahmad and Vice-Chancellor (UE) Prof Dr Talat Naseer Pasha co-chaired the meeting to mobilized them and sought suggestions/recommendation from the participants of meeting to contribute their vital role for the assistance of flood victims on maximum level and provide them food/ration, human and veterinary medicine, clothes, animal feed (vunda, silage, fodder) seed packet, kitchen unit (crockery, pot), packets of juice/milk, mineral water and other necessary items.

Addressing the participants of meeting, Prof Dr Talat Naseer Pasha said that we need to focus on livestock sector which is our core area to save animals of flood victims and provide them veterinary services with treatment and vaccination at their door-step in the flood affected remote areas of Pakistan with full of dedication.

He also called for enhancing networking/communication with representatives of all agriculture and amp; veterinary universities of Pakistan for maximum contribution in the flood relief activities especially for the noble cause.

Speaking on the occasion Prof Dr Nasim Ahmad said that livestock is the only source of livelihood for the majority of rural population and this year due to destruction by heavy floods the livestock farming community is facing economic losses.

He mentioned there is also very much shortage of food and animal feed in the flood affected areas. He thanked all the participants of meeting for their suggestion/inputs and their maximum contributions for the betterment of humanity and nation as well. All the participants of meeting praised UVAS initiatives and amp; activities regarding flood relief.

They said UVAS set a unique example for other universities that how to work in the odd circumstances and playing its lead role in serving of nation and especially for the uplift of livestock sector and profitability of poor farming community.

Air Officer Commanding of Central Air Command Zafar Aslam calls on CM Punjab Ch Parvez Elahi

Lahore, September 21, 2022 (PPI-OT):Air Officer Commanding of Central Air Command of PAF Air vice Marshal Zafar Aslam called on Chief Minister Punjab Chaudhry Parvez Elahi at his office and discussed relief and rehabilitation works in the flood-affected areas. It was agreed to continue measures for the rehabilitation and resettlement of the flood victims more efficiently.

Chief Minister Parvez Elahi thanked Zafar Aslam for the valuable services of the air force in helping and rehabilitating the flood victims. He noted that people were timely rescued by Air-force in the affected areas. On behalf of the Punjab government, I pay tribute to the air force officials engaged in relief activities; the CM said and stressed that the rehabilitation of flood victims was a priority.

Pakistan Air Force and the provincial government will continue to provide relief to the distressed population; he further said and appreciated the professionalism and capabilities of the PAF. ‘I also value the contribution of the Pakistan Air Force to social development,’ he remarked.

The unprecedented services of the Pakistan Air Force in national development, which is fully engaged to defend the aerial boundaries of the country, are commendable, he concluded. Zafar Aslam said that the Pakistan Air Force will provide full support in rehabilitation and resettlement works in the flood-affected areas along-with the Punjab government.
