IHHN Signs MoU with Rad-Aid International – Radiology and Medical Imaging

Karachi, September 14, 2022 (PPI-OT):Indus Hospital and health Network (IHHN) is proud to become the first partner of RAD-AID international in Pakistan. The two organizations signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the joint purpose of advancing the fields of radiology and medical imaging to benefit the medically underserved populations and communities in Pakistan.

IHHN will collaborate with RAD-AID International in establishing a holistic advancement program for IHHN’s radiology departments. This includes continuing education of IHHN’s radiology workforce, and assistance in radiology equipment and technology acquisition, planning, implementation, safety, and operation.

In order to maximize support for essential clinical imaging resources and radiology capacity building, the two parties will organize, manage and deploy radiology teams, comprising of expert radiology technologists, sonographers, medial physicists, nurses, health information technologist specialists, and oncologists. These teams will provide comprehensive training and educational resources to staff, personnel, and healthcare workers at IHHN and IHHN’s affiliated medical facilities throughout Pakistan.

Remote and onsite education will be provided through various methods including lectures, demonstrations, clinical case discussions, mentorships, and tutorials, in line with IHHN’s radiology goals and milestones. To measure improvement in personnel knowledge acquisition and skill-development, regular assessments will be conducted by RAD-AID International teams.

As the nation’s largest healthcare network, IHHN is committed to the advancement of medicine via research and training. To this effect, IHHN has partnered with various local and international organizations to improve the delivery of free-of-cost, quality care to all.

International Day of Democracy: PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari says democracy is the best weapon to fight injustice, inequality and polarization 

Islamabad, September 14, 2022 (PPI-OT):Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party and Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has said that democracy is the best weapon for humankind to fight injustice, inequality and polarization. In his message on the eve of International Day of Democracy, the PPP Chairman said freedom of press and freedom of expression are under attack. Disinformation and harmful rumour-mongering by the vested interests and the elements of anarchy are bigger threats to democratic order, he added.

Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said there is a need for strengthening democratic principles of equality, inclusion and solidarity because the forces of chaos and social disintegration have replaced the mission of dictatorial and autocratic thoughts. He said that PPP has been at the forefront for struggle to accomplish democratic aspirations of the people of Pakistan and its sacrificed its Founder and first-democratically elected Prime Minister Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and first Muslim woman elected Prime Minister Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto.

Bilawal Bhutto Zardari pointed out that one-man one-vote was introduced by Prime Minister Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto who laid the foundation of plural democracy in Pakistan through a unanimous Constitution of 1973. Dictators attempted to deface the Constitution but President Asif Ali Zardari restored it through great political sagacity. He pledged that his Party and the people of Pakistan stand for more and stronger democracy and called upon the youth to join the mainstream democratic and positive politics instead of falling prey to the venomous propagandas by anarchist elements.

Balochistan Food Minister calls on CM Punjab Ch Parvez Elahi

Lahore, September 14, 2022 (PPI-OT):Balochistan Minister for Food Engr Zmarak Khan Achakzai called on Chief Minister Punjab Chaudhry Parvez Elahi at his office. Parvez Elahi expressed complete solidarity with the people of Balochistan for the promotion of inter-provincial harmony and expressed concern over the severe shortage of wheat in Balochistan. ‘Balochistan is the younger brother and Punjab stands with it as the elder brother,’ he added.

Although there is a shortage of wheat in Punjab we will not leave the people of Balochistan alone, he said. Punjab will send 64500 metric tons of wheat to Balochistan at a cost rate. Despite the wheat shortage in Punjab, the province is providing wheat to Balochistan in the spirit of brotherhood; he added and assured that the Punjab government will assist in meeting the food needs of Balochistan. Parvez Elahi also expressed his heartfelt grief over the loss of life and property due to rains and floods in Balochistan.

Zmarak Achakzai said that Parvez Elahi has truly acted as an elder brother and the Baloch brethren value his selfless spirit. ‘You have supported the people living in Balochistan in difficult times and this will promote interprovincial harmony,’ he said. The government and the people of Balochistan are grateful to you, he added. Food Minister Punjab Sardar Hasnain Bahadur Dreshak, Adviser Aamer Saeed Raan and the food secretary were also present.

CM Ch Parvez Elahi inaugurates three TEVTA projects 

Lahore, September 14, 2022 (PPI-OT):Chief Minister Punjab Chaudhry Parvez Elahi inaugurated three projects of the Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (TEVTA) at his office. Speaking on the occasion, the CM said that 43 buses of Rs. 620 million have been given to 37 TEVTA institutions including 12 buses that have been handed over to institutions situated in south Punjab.

This would facilitate the students in their daily movement, he added. The best machinery has been provided in Kasur Institute of Leather Technology, built with 20. 44 million rupees, to train 380 students on modern lines. Best-trained manpower in leather technology is in demand not only in Pakistan but worldwide; the CM noted and hoped that the production of quality leather products will significantly increase exports.

Chief Minister Parvez Elahi stated that the upgradation of the Institute of Blue Pottery Development and the construction of a new building has cost 210 million rupees to train 800 students with state-of-the-art machinery and infrastructure to impart the latest skills in ceramics. The students, trained in these institutions, will bring laurels home with their skills. They should learn modern skills, along with formal education, as skilled workers have become a requirement of every industry.

The Punjab government was providing facilities to attract the new generation towards it, he concluded. Hasaranga, Rajapaksa gain big in MRF Tyres ICC Men’s T20I Player Rankings

Dubai, September 14, 2022 (PPI-OT):Sri Lanka players Bhanuka Rajapaksa and Wanindu Hasaranga, heroes of a memorable victory over Pakistan in the final of the Asia Cup in Dubai on Sunday, have made handsome gains in the MRF Tyres ICC Men’s T20I Player Rankings.

Rajapaksa’s blistering 71 off 45 deliveries with six fours and three sixes, that won him the Player of the Match award, has helped him advance 34 places to a career-best 34th position. Rajapaksa had scores of 25 not out against India and 24 against Pakistan in other matches of the tournament played during the past week.

All-rounder Hasaranga, a formerly top-ranked bowler, has advanced in all three lists after a fine all-round effort in the final saw him smash a 21-ball 36 and follow it up with a late triple-strike with his leg-spin bowling. With a three-wicket haul in the previous match against Pakistan two days earlier, he has moved up three places to sixth position. He is also up seven places to fourth among all-rounders and up 28 places to 152nd among batters.

Pakistan fast bowler Haris Rauf, who grabbed three for 29 in the final and two wickets each in the previous two matches, has moved up nine places to 25th. Mohammad Nawaz has progressed seven places to 34th and Mohammad Hasnain has gained 14 places to reach 96th in the latest weekly update.

Former India captain Virat Kohli, who smashed a match-winning 122 not out off 61 deliveries in a Super Fours match against Afghanistan, has leaped 14 places to reach 15th position while seam bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s remarkable haul of five for four in the same match has lifted him to the top 10, from 11th to seventh position. Lokesh Rahul has progressed from 30th to 23rd.

Spinners Ravichandran Ashwin (up nine places to 41st) and Axar Patel (up 14 places to 57th) have also made notable gains, while Afghanistan batter Ibrahim Zadran has advanced 55 places to 63rd after his unbeaten half-century against India.

Meanwhile, Mohammad Nabi has conceded the top place for all-rounders to Bangladesh’s Shakib Al Hassan.

In the MRF Tyres ICC Men’s ODI Player Rankings, updated after the second and third Australia versus New Zealand matches, Steve Smith has jumped 13 places to 10th position after scores of 61 and 105 while Alex Carey has moved up two places to 20th. Mitchell Starc (up three places to ninth) and Adam Zampa (up three places to 15th) have advanced in the bowlers’ list.

For New Zealand, Matt Henry has moved up one slot to take eighth position among bowlers while Finn Allen is in the top 100 for batters.

In the MRF Tyres ICC Men’s Test Player Rankings that takes into consideration performances in the third England-South Africa Test at The Oval, Player of the Match Ollie Robinson is up 11 places to 15th after finishing with seven wickets in the match including a five-wicket haul in the first innings.

Ben Stokes is up three places to 35th in the same list, while Ollie Pope (up 17 places to 29th) and Zak Crawley (up 16 places to 48th) are the batters to have improved their rankings.

South Africa opener Alax Lees has moved up 18 slots and occupies 74th position while left-arm fast bowler Marco Jansen has reached 26th position after a first-innings five-wicket haul.

Former President Asif Ali Zardari’s message on International Democracy Day 

Islamabad, September 14, 2022 (PPI-OT):Former President of Pakistan and President Pakistan Peoples Party Parliamentarians, Asif Ali Zardari in his message on the occasion of the International Day of Democracy said that democracy is our soul. President Zardari said that whenever efforts have been made to crush the spirit of democracy, the leadership and workers of the PPP have sacrificed their lives to save it. The leadership and workers of the PPP have led the people by lighting the lamp of democracy with their blood.

President Zardari said that Quaid-e-Awam, Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto was the flag bearer of democracy. He said that the Mother of Democracy, Begum Nusrat Bhutto sacrificed her entire life for the sake of democracy in Pakistan. Whenever the sun of democracy has risen, it has done so from Garhi Khuda Baksh.

Asif Ali Zardari said that Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto endured imprisonment, oppression and violence for the sake of democracy. President Zardari said that the jiyalas were flogged and endured imprisonment for the sake of democracy. An empowered parliament is the hallmark of democracy, President Zardari said. The Pakistan Peoples Party empowered the parliament with the help of its allies.

Whenever efforts have been made to deviate from democracy and weaken and disrespect the parliament, the country has suffered difficulties. In order to combat challenges, it is important that there is a parliament elected by the people that works for the people.
