Raza and McGrath claim ICC Player of the Month honours for August 

Dubai, September 12, 2022 (PPI-OT):The International Cricket Council (ICC) today announced the winners of the ICC Player of the Month awards for August 2022 which sees Zimbabwe’s Sikandar Raza and Australia’s Tahlia McGrath honoured following their outstanding international performances during August.

Raza claims the ICC Men’s Player of the Month award thanks to an unforgettable series of scores against Bangladesh and India in Harare across two ODI series. The all-rounder struck two magnificent unbeaten centuries (135 not out and 117 not out) during the historic 2-1 series victory over Bangladesh, on both occasions securing victory for his side in dramatic fashion when chasing big targets. He scored another memorable century against India later in the month, albeit in defeat, continuing his sensational form shown throughout 2022. In addition to his exploits at the crease, Raza also highlighted his bowling threat in the shorter format, taking seven wickets during the month.

In claiming the ICC Men’s Player of the Month award, Raza becomes the first Zimbabwe international to win the award, overcoming fellow nominees and leading all-rounders Mitchell Santner of New Zealand and England’s Ben Stokes who also starred during an action-packed month of men’s cricket.

Reacting to being named the ICC Men’s Player of the Month for August, Raza commented: “I’m incredibly humbled and honoured to have won the ICC Men’s Player of the Month award from the ICC. It’s even more humbling being the first Zimbabwean to ever win the award.

Tahlia McGrath becomes the latest Australian star to receive the ICC Women’s Player of the Month award after paving the way for her country to claim Commonwealth Gold in Birmingham. Following in the footsteps of Alyssa Healy, who claimed the award in April, McGrath amassed 114 runs at an average of 57 during the month, together with five wickets at 13.40, emphasising the crucial role she played in securing yet another success for her country. In amongst a series of strong displays, undoubtedly her star performance came in the victory over Pakistan, where McGrath scored an unbeaten 78, before her three wickets and a run out helped maintain her side’s unbeaten path to glory.

On winning the ICC Women’s Player of the Month award for August, McGrath commented: “I’m honoured to have been named the ICC Women’s Player of the Month for August given there are so many great players who are at the top of their game at the moment.

Faizan Global Relief Foundation’s delegation calls on CM Punjab Ch Parvez Elahi

Lahore, September 12, 2022 (PPI-OT):The delegation of Faizan Global Relief Foundation (FGRF) headed by Haji Abdul Habib Attari, a member of the Central Majlis Shura of Dawat-e-Islami, met with Chief Minister Punjab Chaudhry Parvez Elahi at his office on Monday and briefed him about the philanthropic work. The CM appreciated the services of FGRF related to welfare works and assured his full support.

The CM presented a gift of framed Ayah and Hadith about Khatm-e-Nubawwat (PBUH) and a discussion was held about the rehabilitation measures for the flood victims in south Punjab. Both agreed to work jointly on the expedited rehabilitation of the affectees and a joint committee was formed regarding cooperation for the resettlement of flood victims.

Speaking to the delegation, Parvez Elahi said that the flood victims will be housed and houses will be constructed with the support of FGRF. The resettlement of flood victims will be ensured with the joint coordination of the Punjab government and FGRF, he added. The flood victims will be given financial assistance of Rs. 4 lakh for the construction of their damaged concrete houses, while financial assistance of Rs. 2 lakh will be given for the construction of damaged houses; he stated and noted that FGRF has been active in welfare works.

The Punjab government and FGRF will work together for the rehabilitation of the flood victims, the CM remarked. Medical teams have been formed to prevent epidemics in the affected areas, he mentioned. The aid must reach the right beneficiaries. The passion for serving the affectees is admirable. The government will continue to do whatever is possible for the flood victims; the CM said and reiterated that the government will ensure the transparent use of the donations.

Punjab University Institute of Applied Psychology organizes workshop

The resource, Dr Adnan started off with the theoretical basis of Model testing and the role of advanced analysis in this including PROCESS MACRO. He elaborated the models of Process Macro and their application for mediation, moderation, mediated moderation and further through the hands-on training. UVAS Vice-Chancellor visits flood-affected areas, inspect relief activities by UVAS teams in Taunsa, DG Khan, Fazilpur, Rajanpur 

Lahore, September 12, 2022 (PPI-OT):University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) Lahore Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Nasim Ahmad visited flood affected areas in Rajanpur, Fazilpur, Dera Ghazi Khan and Taunsa Sharif and inspected relief activities by the UVAS Flood Relief Volunteer teams. The UVAS flood relief teams provided veterinary services by treating, vaccinating and deworming flood-hit livestock and also distributed ration, necessary daily-use items and animal feed among the flood victims.

The Vice-Chancellor encouraged and appreciated the UVAS flood relief volunteer teams for distributing relief goods among the poor flood-hit livestock farming community. He also felt sad to see the misery of people and destruction in flood hit areas. He said that UVAS also distributed animal feed worth over Rs 3 million among poor livestock farming families in these areas.

He thanked all the donors for their trust on UVAS and generous donations in cash and kind for the flood victims. With the help of donors and efforts of university staff, the Vice-Chancellor said that UVAS successfully completed its first phase of flood relief activities. In the second phase, UVAS will send its teams to Karor Lal Eason Layyah, Charsadda and Rajanpur for relief activities.

During his visit, Prof Nasim also met Commissioner Dera Ghazi Khan Mr Liaqat Ali Chattha and Vice-Chancellor Ghazi University Dera Ghazi Khan Prof Dr Muhammad Tufail and briefed them on UVAS flood relief activities in DG Khan division. Mr Liaqat Chattha acknowledged the UVAS services for the help of the needy/deserving families.

Chancellor/Governor Punjab Muhammad Baligh-ur-Rehman appreciated UVAS Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Nasim Ahmad for personally supervising the relief efforts of UVAS flood relief teams. He observed that on his call more than 40 universities of Punjab are engaged in flood relief activities.
