Lahore, June 12, 2022 (PPI-OT):Former Federal Minister and senior leader of Pakistan Muslim League Moonis Elahi has written Bismillah Al-Rehman Al-Raheem in his tweet on the issue of FIA investigation, saying that no matter how many cases are made, we will not leave Imran Khan’s side, our decision is final.

Moonis Elahi clarified that I have been told that you have made a mistake and no matter what you come back. Now they are putting pressure on us. They want to get the budget approved by putting such pressure on us. He further said that I am not yet aware of the details of the allegations made by the FIA, but this is not the first time such false cases have been made against our family. Bogus and baseless cases have been made against our family in the past as well. My assets have been declared already, insha’Allah I will still face all the cases against me like in the past.

Punjab has become a police state, Hamza Shahbaz is not running province but IG Punjab is running it: Ch Parvez Elahi

Lahore, June 12, 2022 (PPI-OT):A joint meeting of Pakistan Muslim League (PML) and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) parliamentary party was held in the Punjab Assembly today under the chairmanship of Speaker Punjab Assembly Chaudhry Parvez Elahi and former Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar.

The meeting condemned the cases and arrests against the opposition members. In the meeting, it was decided to bring a resolution in the Punjab Assembly condemning the blasphemy of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) by the Indian government. Hafiz Ammar Yasir will present a resolution in the House on behalf of the opposition. A full-scale protest was decided in the budget session of the Punjab Assembly.

Ch Parvez Elahi directed the members of the Assembly to ensure attendance in the session tomorrow to protest against the anti-people budget. Opposition MPAs should move for maximum cut motions against the budget so that a tough time can be given to the imported government.

Ch Parvez Elahi further said that the government is committing the worst acts of revenge, Punjab has become a police state, it seems that the province is being run by IG Punjab Police and not by Hamza Shahbaz. He further said that our women MPAs also resisted the tactics of the police like other male MPAs. In hindsight, it seems that IG has retained Hamza Shahbaz as his PA. He said that the matter of IG Punjab Police would come up in the privilege committee and he would be punished. IG Punjab would have to answer for the retaliatory actions.

The meeting also approved important decisions regarding the by-election strategy. The members informed in the meeting that the process of rigging has also started in the by-election constituencies. Members expressed concern over the Chief Secretary’s visits to the districts of the by-election constituencies. Mohammad Basharat Raja said that we are not afraid of reprisals and lawsuits, we will fight the government tactics in the by-elections.

Sardar Shahabuddin said that the government was targeting certain polling stations in the by-election constituencies for rigging. It was decided in the meeting that a special cell of the party would be set up for by-elections. All members should send complaints of rigging to the special cell. The meeting also considered the proposal to impose duties on all members of the Assembly in the by-election constituencies. Foreign Minister’s Telephone Conversation with the OIC Secretary General to Discuss Islamophobic Actions in India

Islamabad, June 12, 2022 (PPI-OT):Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, the Chair of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers, had a telephone conversation with the OIC Secretary General, Mr. Hissein Brahim Taha, today. The conversation focused on the series of Islamophobic actions by the ruling dispensation in India, in particular the derogatory remarks against Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon Him) made by two senior officials of the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP).

The Foreign Minister observed that the derogatory remarks made by the high-ranking BJP officials had deeply hurt the sentiments of the Muslims around the globe. He noted that the BJP’s attempted clarification, and the belated and perfunctory ‘disciplinary’ action against the responsible individuals, could not assuage the pain and anguish they had caused to the Muslim world. He strongly condemned the high-handed treatment by the Indian authorities of the peaceful protests after Friday prayers over the derogatory remarks, which was the latest manifestation of the Indian government’s ongoing persecution of Muslims.

The Foreign Minister urged the OIC and its Member States to step up their efforts for protecting the life, dignity, property, culture, heritage and religious freedoms of the Indian Muslims. He further urged the Organization to take immediate cognizance of the aggravating situation of Islamophobia in India.

The OIC Secretary General expressed deep concern over the insulting remarks, as well as the unending plight of Indian Muslims. OIC was sensitive to the growing trend of Islamophobia and the need to take collective action to combat it. Both sides recalled the resolutions and pronouncements of the UN and OIC on Islamophobia, and decided to remain in contact to explore avenues of combatting Islamophobia in India, and mitigating the sufferings of Indian Muslims.
