Lahore, May 31, 2022 (PPI-OT):A one-day seminar was held by the Character Building Society on May 20, 2022. The guest speaker was Mr. Rana Hassan Manzoor, the world’s former fastest guitarist who is now a religious figure.

Mr. Manzoor is one of those fortunate individuals who serves as a source of inspiration, particularly for youth and others. He recommended that people set their goals first, then refine them before achieving them gradually and methodically. Finally, he urged attendees to ponder upon their purpose in life and their contribution to Islam. The event was wrapped up with shield distribution.

Lahore, May 31, 2022 (PPI-OT):The Lahore School of Nursing (LSN) organized an elucidatory seminar to mark the International Nurses Day. Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ashraf (Rector, UOL) was the chief guest along with four guest speakers, namely Mrs. Farzana Iqbal (Nursing Lecturer, Post Graduate College of Nursing), Dr. Kabir Ozigi Abdullahi (Assistant Professor, LSN), Ms. Rashida Kanwal (MSN, UHS), and Ms. Samina Farooqi (Principal, New Advance College of Nursing).

The speakers presented their talks followed by a panel discussion highlighting the challenges surfacing in the field of nursing. The seminar ended with the distribution of shields amongst the speakers.

Lahore, May 31, 2022 (PPI-OT):Under the direction of Mrs. Ammara Awais (Director OSA, UOL), the Department of Career Services and Corporate Linkages (CSCL) conducted a three-day exhibition at the Pak Chem Expo, which was inaugurated by Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ashraf (Rector, UOL).

As the Exclusive Education Partner, the University of Lahore actively participated in the Expo and prominently displayed its Chemical, Physics, IMBB, and Pharmacy Departments. Each department presented its research, and the Admissions Office got the opportunity to answer questions about admissions.

Furthermore, the CSCL was able to strengthen corporate ties by holding exclusive interviews for students with the 50+ participating organizations, who were able to shortlist applicants on the spot. On the last day of the Expo, May 21, 2022, the International Conference of Chemical and Material Sciences was held under the direction of Dr. Ashraf, with Prof. Dr. Talat Naseer Pasha (VC, University of Education) attending the conference as the Chief Guest.

Lahore, May 31, 2022 (PPI-OT):The Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology of the University College of Medicine and Dentistry (UCMD) hosted a seminar to commemorate the “International Day to End Obstetric Fistula” on May 23, 2022.

Prof. Dr. Saqib Sadiq (CEO, Mid City Hospital) and Prof. Dr. Tahira Rizwan (HoD, Obstetrics and Gynaecology Department) presented their talks on the topic of obstetric fistula and its eradication. The seminar was attended by Prof. Dr. Shahid Malik (Pro Rector, Health Sciences) and Prof. Dr. Mehwish Arooj (Principal, UCM).

Lahore, May 31, 2022 (PPI-OT):The Lahore Business School (LBS) at the University of Lahore (UOL) invited an affiliated company of BOSS Group Pakistan, named “Sahoolatkar” on May 18, 2022, for an exclusive recruitment drive.

The representatives of the company that included Mr. Osama Khalid, Mr. Mozam, Mr. Salman, Mr. Faisal and Ms. Rafia Shafqat interviewed around 25 students from 7th and 8th semesters with specializations in HR, Finance, Supply Chain, and Marketing for the Business Development position in their Marketing Department. Around 13 students were shortlisted for the second interview at Sahoolatkar Head Office based in Lahore. Later, the company also showed interest in signing an MoU with LBS.

Lahore, May 31, 2022 (PPI-OT):The SAFE Society, in partnership with the University of Lahore’s Department of Environmental Science, organized an educational trip and an honour walk to mark World Biodiversity Day on May 22, 2022.

The trip was scheduled to the Lahore Zoo and Jinnah Park, which was graced by Dr. Qamar uz Zaman (Assistant Professor) and Mr. Afzal Hussain (Assistant Professor). To promote awareness for the conservation of the earth’s biodiversity, two Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) were highlighted: 14: Life below water, and 15: Life on Earth.
