Indus Tarbiyat Activity at Haque Academy

Karachi, April 27, 2022 (PPI-OT):On Wednesday April 20, 2022 Dr. Abdul Bari, CEO, Indus Hospital and Health Network along with IHHN team was invited by the Haque Academy to collect the donations saved by their students of their Primary Section. It was a truly wholesome and inspiring experience to see these young kids being so excited to donate and share their contribution to help the patients at IHHN. Some of the students came up with innovative ideas to save money such as running entrepreneurial ventures of giving massages to friends and family or going to their parent’s work place and asking the people there to donate for a good cause.

This activity was arranged under IHHN’s initiative of Indus Tarbiyat which is a program that envisions to create conscientious citizens, who will benefit the country in their individual capacity. Through Indus Tarbiyat IHHN aims to target the youngest members of the society and instill in them the values of compassion, giving back to the community, and that kindness breeds kindness.

This CSR initiative taken by Indus Hospital and Health Network, aims to teach the younger generation that their simple act of kindness can go a long way and make a difference in the world. Through the Indus Tarbiyat program we have a campaign “Box of Kindness” under which we provide the children with saving money boxes to inculcate in them the habit of saving and sharing their blessings with the less fortunate.

In regard this initiative IHHN collaborated with Haque Academy and distributed 700 Indus Tarbiyat money boxes to the students who were briefed about the activity by the school and were asked to save to help IHHN for the noble cause of providing quality healthcare, free of cost and saving many precious lives.

PPP Senator demands reasonable minimum support price for cotton of this Kharif to boost economy

Karachi, April 27, 2022 (PPI-OT):Member Core Committee of the Pakistan People’s Party Senator Taj Haider in a press statement issued today has urged the Government to fix a reasonable minimum support price for the cotton crop of this Kharif. Senator Taj Haider said that cotton crop was the backbone of our economy, textile industry and exports which provided ample employment opportunities for our peasants and workers at many stages of production cycle.

Our cotton crop which once stood at 14 million bales has been gradually going down and now stands at the dismal level of 6 million bales due to its low profitability and shifting to alternate high water consuming crops. Our textile industry has to import large quantities of cotton which also are becoming uneconomical due to the fall in the rate of Pakistani rupee. A reasonable support price of say Rs. 8000 per maund plus can result in larger cotton crop area and sufficient inputs by the farmers and the crop can go up easily by another 5 million bales.

Pakistan needs to drastically cut down its imports. Import substitution of 5 million bales would save us 5 billion dollars in imports, while just for a loan of 1 billion dollars from IMF, we are being forced to raise fuel prices which shall result in an overall increase in our production costs and will further push up inflation. Senator Taj Haider urged an early announcement in this regard. A late announcement when the crop has already been sown will not result in any increase in the cropping area.
