WHY ROSEN LAW: We encourage investors to select qualified counsel with a track record of success in leadership roles. Often, firms issuing notices do not have comparable experience, resources or any meaningful peer recognition. Many of these firms do not actually handle securities class actions, but are merely middlemen that refer clients or partner with law firms that actually litigate the cases. Be wise in selecting counsel. The Rosen Law Firm represents investors throughout the globe, concentrating its practice in securities class actions and shareholder derivative litigation. Rosen Law Firm has achieved the largest ever securities class action settlement against a Chinese Company. Rosen Law Firm was Ranked No. 1 by ISS Securities Class Action Services for number of securities class action settlements in 2017. The firm has been ranked in the top 4 each year since 2013 and has recovered hundreds of millions of dollars for investors. In 2019 alone the firm secured over $438 million for investors. In 2020, founding partner Laurence Rosen was named by law360 as a Titan of Plaintiffs’ Bar. Many of the firm’s attorneys have been recognized by Lawdragon and Super Lawyers.

DETAILS OF THE CASE: According to the lawsuit, defendants throughout the Class Period made false and/or misleading statements and/or failed to disclose that: (1) safety concerns about Xeljanz and Xeljanz XR extended to Rinvoq and other Janus kinase (JAK) inhibitors; (2) as a result, it was likely that the FDA would require additional safety warnings for Rinvoq and would delay the approval of additional treatment indications for Rinvoq; and (3) therefore, defendants’ statements about AbbVie’s business, operations, and prospects lacked a reasonable basis. When the true details entered the market, the lawsuit claims that investors suffered damages.

From tomorrow I am the Speaker and Custodian of the House, today’s so-called election has no legal status, Hamza Shahbaz is a fake CM: Ch Parvez Elahi

Lahore, April 16, 2022 (PPI-OT):Speaker Punjab Assembly Chaudhry Parvez Elahi has filed a petition at Qila Gujar Singh Police Station against the violence against him in the Assembly House. He was accompanied by Member National Assembly Moonis Elahi, Senator Kamil Ali Agha, Raja Basharat, Hafiz Ammar Yasir, Rasikh Elahi, PTI and PML MPAs.

Talking to media on the occasion, Ch Parvez Elahi said that today in the assembly I was tortured on the orders of Shahbaz Sharif and Hamza Shahbaz. Hamza Shahbaz had ordered to kill me. Women were also beaten and pushed. On the orders of Commissioner, DC, IG, SP, SHOs along with a heavy contingent came on the floor of the Punjab Assembly.

The names of all the PML-N MPAs and the officers involved have been written in the application. We do not want the courts to give justice in the dark of night but seek justice in the light of day. He said that from tomorrow I am the Speaker and Custodian of the House, today’s so-called election is unconstitutional, today’s election has no status in the eyes of constitution and law, Hamza Shahbaz is a fake Chief Minister.

I was brutally tortured at the behest of PM Shahbaz Sharif and Hamza Shahbaz: Ch Parvez Elahi

Lahore, April 16, 2022 (PPI-OT):Punjab Assembly Speaker Chaudhry Parvez Elahi has said that at the behest of Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif and Hamza Shahbaz, I was brutally tortured, my arm was broken by the violence, I was sitting in the back seat but PML-N thugs came there and tortured me. Ch Parvez Elahi said that Hamza Shahbaz targeted me and attacked me as planned. Answering questions from the media, he said which court should I go to? At their request, the courts are open even at night. There is no court for the oppressed. I leave my case to Allah Almighty.

Ch Parvez Elahi said that as Speaker I have always given equal opportunity to PML-N members in the Assembly, issued production orders for PML-N jailed leaders, what did these people do to me today is before the whole nation. He said that PML-N members Sohail Shaukat Butt and Malik Waheed attacked me at the orders of Hamza Shahbaz. These thugs have brought me from their house. I am still the speaker. The thugs who came to do so kept chanting slogans of Hamza! Hamza! Meanwhile, the Speaker Punjab Assembly Media Coordinator Iqbal Chaudhry was also severely tortured. He fell down from the dice while trying to save Ch Parvez Elahi.

The manner in which constitution and law were mocked in Punjab Assembly is unprecedented in Pakistan’s parliamentary and political history: Ch Shujat Hussain

Lahore, April 16, 2022 (PPI-OT):Pakistan Muslim League (PML) President and former Prime Minister Chaudhry Shujat Hussain has strongly condemned the PML-N’s shameful attitude towards Speaker Chaudhry Parvez Elahi in the Punjab Assembly and said that the manner in which the Constitution and the law were mocked in a democratic house like Punjab Assembly is unprecedented in the parliamentary and political history of Pakistan. The black events of today’s dark day will never be forgotten which polluted our politics with violence in such a way that even mothers, sisters, daughters were not spared, they were abused, slapped and their hair was pulled out.

Such a bizarre example of disrespect in politics has never been seen before. He said that Speaker Ch Parvez Elahi was targeted and tortured by bullying. Ch Shujat Hussain said that he was saddened that all this was done with a person who was not entitle of it. Ch Shujat Hussain said that there is a Qur’anic command that Allah is gracious and Allah loves those who do good. Ch Parvez Elahi always treated the Sharif family well in difficult times.

During the Musharraf era, when the two brothers went to Saudi Arabia with their families, Hamza Shahbaz was alone here. Ch Parvez Elahi helped Hamza Shahbaz in every possible way even his factories were running. Hamza Shahbaz once complained to Ch Parvez Elahi that the intelligence people were chasing me and I could not go anywhere to eat. Even as the Speaker, Ch Parvez Elahi not only issued production orders for Hamza but also allotted separate rooms for his family meetings in the Assembly Building and took care of him in every possible way.

Similarly, when Aleem Khan was caught by NAB, he complained to Ch Parvez Elahi that in NAB custody he has to line up for toilet. Ch Parvez Elahi got his complaint resolved immediately. I remember that Ch Parvez Elahi had taken stern notice of an incident of police misconduct with Deputy Speaker Dost Muhammad Mazari and the assembly session was adjourned for several days.

The IG personally came to the assembly and apologized. Ch Shujat Hussain said that we and our family have established good traditions in politics and social relations but now it seems that politics has gone to personal animosity and beatings. What are we giving to Pakistan and the people especially the youth, that is what I will say O Quaid! The nation is ashamed.

HRCP slams security forces for treatment of drivers in Chagai

Lahore, April 16, 2022 (PPI-OT):The Human Rights Commission of Pakistan (HRCP) is alarmed to learn that a driver was killed allegedly by security forces in Chagai near the Pakistan-Afghan border while attempting to speed away in his vehicle when told to stop. Extrajudicial killings are unacceptable regardless of the circumstances and the perpetrators must be identified and held accountable.

Additionally, scores of drivers transporting goods across the border were reportedly deprived of their vehicles by security forces and left to fend for themselves in the desert. Many of them have still not been accounted for. The incident reflects a coldblooded disdain for basic humanity and the right to life.

In a province that has been sorely neglected for decades, the callousness displayed by security forces towards residents continues unchecked. We strongly urge the provincial government to investigate this incident and ensure it does not recur.
