International Conference on Chemical Sciences: A Multidisciplinary Approach concluded 

Khairpur, April 02, 2022 (PPI-OT):International Conference on Chemical Sciences: A Multidisciplinary Approach (ICCS-MA)-2022 organized by the Institute of Chemistry, Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur in collaboration with Sindh Higher Education Commission, Karachi concluded. Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto, Vice Chancellor, Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur presided over the concluding session of the conference. Prof. Dr. Tufail Ahmed Sheerazi, Director Centre for Excellence of Chemistry, University of Sindh, Jamshoro was the chief guest.

Speaking on this occasion, Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto said that conferences always provide a viable platform in order to learn and transform knowledge, skills and expertise. We have provided congenial and conducive environment to our Faculty Members, Research Scholars and Students for embarking research and innovation. Dr. Ibupoto assured the galaxy of scholars that the proceedings of the conference will be published and the recommendations of the conference will be communicated to the relevant quarters. The Vice Chancellor appreciated the efforts of Prof. Dr. Mushtaque Jakhrani, Director Institute of Chemistry and Organizing Committee for organizing this conference in befitting manner.

Prof. Dr. Tufail Ahmed Sheerazi said this University was established after the name of legend and prominent Sufi Saint Hazrat Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai who’s message is for love, peace and progress. The land of Khairpur is fertile in terms of education, culture and literature. He said that the research is a collaborative endeavour. This is the need of the time to concentrate on quality research, commercialization and industrial linkage. He appreciated the contribution of research scholars of national and international repute especially the young research scholars presented their research papers in excellent manner. He commended the efforts of Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto for his in-depth interest in the promotion of education and research at the campus.

Prof. Dr. Ghulam Mustafa Mashori, Acting Dean Faculty of Natural Sciences said that this conference was multidimensional because this age is the age of multidisciplinary approach. He said that conference emerged as consortium in order to foster future linkages. He advised to the Director Institute of Chemistry to launch research journal in the Institute of Chemistry.

Prof. Dr. Mushtaque Jakhrani briefed that more than 66 research papers were presented in parallel sessions. He said the eminent scholars from Azerbijan, China, USA, Sudan, Malaysia and Pakistan participated and presented their research papers in the conference. He said that we will work in the same spirit to embark research and development in the Institute. Dr. Jakhrani commended the untiring efforts of Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto for providing patronage and support in the success of the event.

Dr. Yagut Yusifova from Azerbaijan, Dr. Eltayeb Fadul from Khartoum Sudan, Dr. Saifullah Bullo and Dr. Ambreen Rehana Solangi shared their views. They said this was a marvellous conference and provided ample opportunities to share expertise, views and best practices in the field of chemical sciences. They appreciated the hospitality extended by the University administration especially they appreciated the keen interest of Vice Chancellor Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto in the organizing this international moot.

Prof. Dr. Wahid Bux Jatoi presented the recommendations of the conference. The same will be communicated to the concerned forums. Dr. Qurat-ul-Ain Shaikh, Conference Secretary presented vote of thanks. She extended the especial thanks to the participants of national and international delegates and Sindh Higher Education Commission, Karachi for sponsoring the conference. She also extended her thanks to the University administration, Organizing Committee, Volunteers and Media Persons.

McDonald’s conducts on-campus recruitment drive at UOL 

Lahore, April 02, 2022 (PPI-OT):The UOL always strives to bring jobs closer to its students. A renowned multinational food chain company, McDonald’s Pakistan was invited by the Department of Career Services and Corporate Linkages (CSCL) on March 17, 2022 at the UOL for an exclusive recruitment drive.

A team of HR representatives from McDonald’s interviewed 100s of students mainly from Lahore Business School (LBS) and subjected them to a written test in order to shortlist the successful ones for the second interview at McDonald’s Head Office based in Lahore.

Later, Mr. Syed Hammad Mustafa (Director HR and TLD) addressed a seminar in which he tipped the students on factors for success in business life. Dr. Maryam Kiani (Director EDC and CSCL) applauded McDonald’s Pakistan for maintaining a strong bond with UOL.

UOL signed an MoU with InvoZone 

Lahore, April 02, 2022 (PPI-OT):For strengthening the industry-academia linkages, the UOL signed an MoU with InvoZone on March 16, 2022, aimed at establishing alliance between the two institutions. The MoU will materialize into trainings and job opportunities to the students. The industry experts and faculty will also exploit the same partnership to jointly provide solutions to the industry-based challenges.

Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ashraf (Rector, UOL) and Ms. Farheen Rizvi (Assistant Manager HR, InvoZone) signed the MoU on behalf of the two institutions in the presence of Dr. Maryam Kiani (Director, EDC and CSCL), Deans of Pharmacy, Technology and Engineering and Information Technology, and HoDs of Technology, and Electrical Engineering. InvoZone is a software development company providing consultancy and specialized services to a global clientele across all types of Web and Mobile app development.

Students present skits, simulator performances at Gala Dinner

Institute of Physical Therapy holds faculty development seminar 

Lahore, April 02, 2022 (PPI-OT):The University of Institute of Physical Therapy (UIPT) under Faculty of Allied Health Sciences (FAHS) held its Faculty Development Program seminar themed on “Integrated Neuro-rehabilitation Model of Care, Challenges, Advanced Approach and Outcome Measures” at the Main Campus, Lahore on March 12, 2022.

Dr. Muhammad Arslan Ali (Consultant and Lead Clinical-UK) was the keynote speaker and several distinguished guests from different universities also attended the one-day event. A one-hour hands-on session was also demonstrated. Dr. Syed Asadullah Arslan (HOD, UIPT) gave a vote of thanks. Prof. Dr. Ashfaq Ahmed (Associate Dean, FAHS) delivered the welcoming remarks and Prof. Dr. Amir Gilani (Dean, FAHS) presented souvenirs to the guests and the participants.

Lahore School of Nursing holds conference on “Spiritual Care Nursing” 

Lahore, April 02, 2022 (PPI-OT):The Lahore School of Nursing (LSN) held a video conference on “Spiritual Care Nursing” as an emerging concept in Pakistan on March 10, 2022, at the Main Campus, Lahore.

This pioneer initiative was facilitated by Prof. Dr. Tove Giske (Nurse Lead Scholar and Researcher from Norway). She highlighted the importance of care when one is faced with life-changing events such as birth, trauma, ill health, loss or sadness. On the other hand, Dr. Muhammad Afzal (Principal, LSN) lauded the lecture and promised to host similar educative talks.
