ZCRS and Nixor College’s Project Tandurusti 

Karachi, February 08, 2022 (PPI-OT):On 1st January 2022 Ziauddin College of Rehabilitation Sciences – Department of Occupational Therapy and Department of Physical Education, Health and Sport Sciences collaborated with Nixor College on Project Tandurusti. The objective of the mutual efforts was to improve the well-being of students from The Garage School for underprivileged children.

The day started with sensory zumba followed by a treasure hunt. There were a total of 9 activities that targeted psychological, psychosocial and mental wellbeing. After an hour of energetic sensory workout, students were engaged in competitive sports activities that included sprint, quadrant jumping, drop and catch. The session ended with mindful breathing. The Nixor college management and students enjoyed and appreciated the activities. The ZCRS faculty involved in this activity were:

Industrial Visit to Integrated Dynamics Private Limited 

Karachi, February 08, 2022 (PPI-OT):An industrial trip to Integrated Dynamics Pvt. Ltd. was arranged for the students of semester VII-B students enrolled in Aero-Dynamics (Elective) course of the Mechanical Engineering department on Friday, February 04, 2022. Under the supervision of Engr. Dr. Nauman Qureshi, the students visited Integrated Dynamics Pvt. Ltd where they were able to observe the Aero-Dynamics Principles.

A company representative guided the students through the whole process and the different factors that are considered while designing an aero-dynamically stable vehicles. The trip was a great learning opportunity for students as it helped students relate many concepts studied in the classroom to real settings.

First Year Students of UMDC get a Warm Welcome 

Faisalabad, February 08, 2022 (PPI-OT):First-Year Students of MBBS and BDS get a warm welcome with White Coat ceremony at University Medical and Dental College on February 7, 2022. After donning their new white coats they recited the Oath pledging allegiance to the medical profession, their companions, seniors and their duty towards their patients. During the orientation program held in Ali Auditorium, Prof Dr Aamir Ali Choudhry, Principal UMDC in his address welcomed the new students.

He said that we are proud of our highly qualified and experienced faculty and staff. He assured the fresh entrants that we at UMDC with highly qualified faculty and state-of-the-art infrastructure are doing our best to make their education adequate to modern healthcare achievements and give them the opportunity to become highly qualified and successful professionals. Prof Dr Mian Farrukh Imran, Principal Dental College, welcomed the first-year students and called upon them to render hard work for building a bright future. He briefed about the UMDC and affiliated Madinah Teaching Hospital. He urged the newcomers to take full advantage of these opportunities for becoming successful medical professionals and serve the society.

Prof Dr Sundus Tariq also shared her views and briefed the students about TUF, UMDC, Madinah Teaching Hospital and other welfare projects running under the auspices of Madinah Foundation. On the occasion, a few Alumni of UMDC serving in leading hospitals of Pakistan and other countries also shared their views by video messages to encourage the newcomers.

Kashmir Solidarity Week at IIUI 

Islamabad, February 08, 2022 (PPI-OT):In connection with Kashmir Solidarity Week, the Directorate of Students Affairs (DSA) of International Islamic University Islamabad has organized a number of student activities including declamation contests, debate competitions, essay writing, art exhibition, seminar on Kashmir Solidarity Day, various sports activities including football, table tennis, cricket and volley ball matches.

Kashmir Solidarity Walk is also scheduled on Friday, February 11, 2022 from Central Mosque to Faculty Block I and II at the New Campus. On the first day of the Kashmir Solidarity Week, declamation contest and debate competition was held here at Auditorium Faculty block II. 08 Students participated in a declamation contest while they also exhibited their art related to Kashmir solidarity.

Addressing the students, Dr. Tauqeer Hussain Sargana, Students Advisor (Male), Directorate of Students Affairs (DSA) said that Kashmir is the prime objective of Pakistan and the whole nation will remain firm with the people of Kashmir till their freedom. On this occasion he also paid tribute to the courageous people of Indian Occupied Kashmir (IOK) and condemned Indian militarization, atrocities, and human rights violations. He also contested the illegality of constitutional manipulations by the Indian Government that revoked articles 370 and 35A on August 05, 2019. The first day activities of the Kashmir Solidarity Week ended with revived passion for Kashmir cause and slogans of “Kashmir Banay Ga Pakistan” Inshallah.
