Reception hosted in Honour of Prof. Dr. Ghulam Abbas Shar

Khairpur, January 04, 2022 (PPI-OT):A Farewell Reception was hosted by the Vice Chancellor Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto in the honour of Dean Faculty of Natural Sciences Prof. Dr. Ghulam Abbas Shar on attaining his age of superannuation as Professor. Speaking to the participants, Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto said the academic, research and administrative services of Prof. Dr. Ghulam Abbas Shar are highly commendable.

He performed his duties with devotion and commitment. The Vice Chancellor remarked that he always guided me in the strengthening the academic and research culture at the University. He remained a good member of my team. Dr. Ibupoto said the retirement is the part of the life. I am optimistic that Dr. Shar will continue his research activities for the benefit of community and nation.

Prof. Dr. Ghulam Mustafa Mashori, Dean Faculty of Arts and Languages, Prof. Dr. Taj Muhammad Lashari, Dean Faculty of Social Sciences, Prof. Dr. Mumtaz Ali Junejo, Dean Faculty of Management Sciences, Prof. Dr. Pir Bux Ghumro, Prof. Dr. Mushtaque Jakhrani, Prof. Dr. Abdul Hussain Shar, Prof. Dr. Khalida Mahar, Dr. Shamroz Shaito, Dr. Parvez Mahesar, Dr. Gul Afshan Soomro, Dr. Nazar Kalwar, Dr. Bhajan Lal, Miss Asia Ruk and others also spoke on the meritorious services rendered by Dr. Ghulam Abbas Shar.

They said Dr. Shar is a dedicated professor produced sizeable number of Ph. D Scholars. He is polite person, his attitude remained friendly with colleagues and students. Dr. Shar is versatile personality and soft-spoken person. He encouraged the students in their pursuit of academic excellence. Dr. Shar remained helping hand to guide the students.

Prof. Dr. Ghulam Abbas Shar said my first career started as Lecturer in the Chemistry subject at the Govt. Degree College, Moro. I taught with dedication and commitment to the students. He said I strengthened the Department of Chemistry by providing scientific equipments. He said I believe in proficiency.

I remained the first Director ORIC. I earned different research projects as result University’s image developed academically. He appreciated the untiring efforts of Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto, Vice Chancellor for promoting academic, research and development of university. The efforts of Vice Chancellor are remarkable for bringing the culture of merit and transparency. A large number of teachers and research scholars attended the reception.

On Time Real Registration Spring 2022

The Spring 2022 Semester will begin from 7th March, 2022. On time real registration for Spring 2022 will be opened from 10th January, 2022 till 4th February, 2022. Please go through the below mentioned details for successful registration and to avoid any inconvenience during this process. The on time real registration for Spring 2022 will be opened as per following schedule:

Monday, 10th January 2022

Baccalaureate Seniors (90 or above earned credits) and Pharmacy students.

Tuesday, 11th January 2022

Baccalaureate Juniors (60 or above earned credits) and Pharmacy students.

Wednesday, 12th January 2022

Baccalaureate Sophomores (30 or above earned credits) and Pharmacy students.

Thursday 13th January 2022

Spring Semester: Maximum 17 credits

Pharmacy Spring Semester: Maximum 26 credits

Seat Exception for Spring 2022 will be opened during on time real registration and there will be no seat exception during Add/Drop.

Students falling under the category of sophomore or above class division need to declare their major to avoid any inconvenience in registration of major courses.

Applications invited for Admission in English, Urdu, Chinese and Persian Diploma Courses

Islamabad, January 04, 2022 (PPI-OT):The International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) has invited the applications for getting admission in diploma and certificate courses in four languages including English, Urdu, Persian and Chinese.

The eligible candidates can submit applications by January 17, 2022. Six to two month long diploma, certificate in elementary, advance level courses have been offered separately in four above mentioned languages, an official said.

The courses fee ranges from Rs 21,000 to Rs 10,000. The skills in creative writing, business English, listening, speaking, reading, grammar were being imparted to those, who wanted to improve their English, Urdu, Persian and Chinese languages.

Separate classes for both males, females would be held from Monday to Thursday 9:30 am to 11:30 am; after noon classes for male students have been scheduled to be held from 6 pm to 8 pm. Likewise afternoon classes for females would be held from 3 pm to 5 pm (Mon to Thurs).

According to details, the fee for six-month long diploma course in English language (elementary and advance level) is Rs 21,000.

The fee for three month long English Language Certification course is Rs 12,000. The preparatory courses for two months long (Graduate Record Examinations) GRE/ (Graduate Management Admission Test), GMAT, (Graduate Assessment Test) GAT are available for Rs 12,000. While two months long OET (occupational English Test) fee is Rs 14,000 and the fee for preparatory course for IELTS (International English Language Testing System) is fixed as Rs 10,000.

A six-month Diploma in Chinese Language fee is Rs 12,000 while three-month certificate in Chinese language is available at Rs 12,000. Similarly, six and three months diploma courses in Urdu language fee is Rs 21,000 and Rs 12,000 respectively.

DLSEI-II Registration – IUB 

Bahawalpur, January 04, 2022 (PPI-OT):The Digital Learning and Skills Enrichment Initiative (DLSEI) by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) with collaboration of Coursera International intends to enhance online learning and skills development among passionate students and faculty members of HEIs. This program will provide an opportunity to access the online courses and certifications from top universities of the world and get a chance to enroll themselves in the highest-ranked and most expensive online courses. This program will enhance students’ skills and abilities, and further equip them in a better way for practical life challenges, self-development, etc.

DLSEI is offering a FEE REIMBURSEMENT MODEL for the students and faculty members of PUBLIC SECTOR Universities on a first come, first serve basis. After paying 4000 PKR, students and faculty members will be able to access courses and certifications on a single license from top-ranked global universities and companies. After completing at least 3 courses and receiving certificates, the registration fee of 4000 PKR will be reimbursed to them.

Eligibility Criteria for the DLSEI Program:

1. All Public/ Private University Students currently enrolled in 16-year education programs and above are eligible

2. Faculty members of Public/Private Universities are also eligible.

3. The applicant must have a valid CNIC/ B-form number.
