Entrepreneurial Extravaganza 

Wah Cantt, December 28, 2021 (PPI-OT):The Students of BBA-7th Semester, Department of Management Sciences organized an “Entrepreneurial Extravaganza” in the University Campus on 21st and 22nd December, 2021, as part of a Project assigned to them. The purpose of this event was to develop entrepreneurial skills in students by providing them a platform for practical learning of the subject matter.

The students arranged stalls for sale of various items, eatables and other products. Prof. Dr. Mushtaq Ahmed, Dean-Faculty of Management Sciences along with the faculty members visited the venue and appreciated the efforts of the students. The Extravaganza was enthusiastically attended and the participants stressed on organizing such activities for the students to nurture their entrepreneurial abilities.

10th Interactive Series ZU Dialogues “Global Warming: From Climate Change to Climate Crisis” 

Karachi, December 28, 2021 (PPI-OT):Ziauddin University organized the 10th interactive series of ZU Dialogues “Global Warming: Climate Change to Climate Crisis” to get the opinion and analysis of the experts about the climate change which affects the world and the challenges, risk factors, and initiatives, if global temperatures rise by 2050.

The dialogue session was attended by the renowned environmental experts including Ashiq Ahmad Khan, Scientific Representative of EvK2CNR; an environmental lawyer Ahmad Rafay Alam, Yale World Fellow and partner at Saleem, Alam and Company; an award-winning environmental journalist Rina Saeed Khan, Chairperson, Islamabad Wildlife Management Board; and Prof. Dr. Abbas Zafar, Dean, Faculty of Health Sciences, Ziauddin University. The event was hosted by Dr. Zulfiqar Umrani, Director ORIC, Ziauddin University.

While talking during the online session experts said that climate change is affecting our country’s economy and health, floods are taking place, glaciers are melting and the study says less developed countries have different reasons to cause climate change as compared to more developed countries. There are several factors that are all working together to push the current climate change.

MoU Signing between FJWU and Saaya Association of Persons with Disabilities 

Rawalpindi, December 28, 2021 (PPI-OT):FJWU signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Saaya Association of Persons with Disabilities. On the occasion, Dr Saima Hamid and Mr Asim Zafar as Executive Heads signed the document. Dr. Aneela Maqsood (Head of Behavioural Sciences Department) and Ms. Ayesha Sajid (Admin Manager Saaya Association) signed the document as focal persons. Dr. Tahir Mukhtar (Reporting Faculty) and Dr. Amad Ud Din (ORIC FJWU) attended the ceremony.

The department of Behavioural Sciences has a long journey of affiliation with Saaya Association. Over the years, many of our graduates have benefited from the exposure and experience of community placements, internship and research projects through the platform of Saaya Association. As an important milestone, MOU will lead us to plan and execute structured efforts to promote the awareness, services, research and community outreach on multiple forefronts.

Workshop on “STATA” held in University of Turbat 

Turbat, December 28, 2021 (PPI-OT):The Department of Management Sciences under its program “Business, Research and Self Development Program (BRSDP)” conducted a One-Day Workshop on “STATA” on 23rd December 2021, at the Department of Management Sciences, University of Turbat. The resource person of the workshop was Dr. Riaz Ahmed, Assistant Professor, and Director, QEC. The workshop was attended by faculty members and students from the Faculty of Economics, Commerce, and Business Administration. In the workshop, practical knowledge and data accessing and analyzing skills through ‘STATA’, was demonstrated.

University of Turbat urged equal opportunities for women 

Turbat, December 28, 2021 (PPI-OT):A delegation from the Women Development Department, Government of Balochistan led by Ms. Shazia Riaz, Regional Director Women’s Development Department visited the University of Turbat (UoT) on 24th December 2021 and met with UoT’s Pro-Vice-Chancellor (PVC), Dr. Mansoor Ahmed.

During the meeting, they discussed the matters related to the upcoming Women’s Expo 2022 which is going to be organized by the Women’s Development Department, Balochistan at Turbat city in February next year. Dr. Mansoor Ahmed appreciated the efforts of the Government of Balochistan for holding such an important social festival in Turbat city for the first time. On behalf of UoT’s Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Jan Muhammad, he assured the visitors of full cooperation during the forthcoming mega event in District Kech.

PVC acknowledged that women can play a very important role in the development of any society, therefore, it is imperative to ensure their participation in the developmental process. He said higher education empowers women to play their due role in nation-building. He said that the University of Turbat believes to provide opportunities of equal participation to women in every field of life.

Ms. Shazia Riaz lauded the efforts of the Vice-Chancellor and his administrative and academic team for creating an academic environment of gender equality in the University where female students are being encouraged and motivated to play their role in every field of life. The delegation also visited different academic departments of the University and interacted with the teaching faculty and students.
