شینجن، پائلٹ ڈیمونسٹریشن زون کے طور پر، جی آئی پی سی میں سرمایہ کاری کی اعلی کشش کا مظاہرہ

شینجین، چین، 17 دسمبر 2021 /ژن ہوا-ایشیانیٹ/– 15 دسمبر کو منعقدہ 2021 شینجن گلوبل انویسٹمنٹ پروموشن کانفرنس (جی آئی پی سی) میں 260 سے زائد منصوبوں پر دستخط کیے گئے جن کی مجموعی سرمایہ کاری 820 ارب یوآن سے زائد تھی۔

منافع بخش نتائج برآمد ہوئے ہیں۔ شینجن نے علامتی طور پر جدت کے ساتھ پائلٹ ڈیمونسٹریشن زون کی تعمیر کو تیز کیا ہے جس سے اس وبا کے درمیان تاریک ہوتی عالمی معیشت کو اس قابل بنایا گیا ہے کہ چین اور شینجن میں سرمایہ کاری کی رفتار کو  محسوس کیا جاسکے۔

کانفرنس میں مختلف ہائی ٹیک اور بین الاقوامی عناصر مثلا لائیو اسٹریمنگ اور ایکسٹینڈڈ رئیلٹی (ایکس آر) ٹیکنالوجی کے علاوہ تکنیکی اور مستقبل کے احساس سے بھرپور ایک پروموشنل ویڈیو، دو لسانی میزبان، چینی، انگریزی، جرمن اور جاپانی زبان میں بیک وقت تشریح شامل تھی۔ جی آئی پی سی کی آرگنائزنگ کمیٹی کے مطابق اس کے آن لائن سرمایہ کاری کے فروغ دینے والے نمائشی ہالوں نے شینجن کے ہر ضلع کی جھلکیاں دکھاتے ہوئے ایک مربوط انٹرایکٹو تجربہ فراہم کیا تھا۔

جی آئی پی سی میں 15 دسمبر کو ہونے والی مرکزی تقریب سے قبل 5 براعظموں کے 12 شہروں میں ضلعی سطح کی سرمایہ کاری کے فروغ کی 12 تقریبات اور بیرون ملک تقریبات شامل تھیں جن میں سے آخر میں اے بی بی، میٹرو مال اور امریکن ایکسپریس سمیت 44 بڑے منصوبوں پر دستخط ہوئے۔

فارچون 500 کمپنی چین میں اے بی بی الیکٹرک ٹرانسپورٹیشن بزنس یونٹ کے سربراہ کاو یانگ کا خیال ہے کہ شینجن ڈیجیٹل ترقی کا بلند ترین شہر ہے اور اسمارٹ عمارتیں، الیکٹرک ٹرانسپورٹیشن بہت تیزی سے ترقی کر رہی ہیں۔ابھرتی ہوئی صنعتوں کی تیز رفتار ترقی مسلسل عالمی کاروباری اداروں کو سرمایہ کاری کی طرف لے جاتی ہے۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ ہم دل کی گہرائیوں سے اس بات کو محسوس کرتے ہیں کہ شینجن سائنسی اور تکنیکی اختراعات کے شہر کے طور پر مکمل صنعتی سلسلہ اور صلاحیتوں کے ساتھ ساتھ پالیسیوں کی حمایت کے جامع فوائد کا حامل ہے۔ انہوں نے مزید کہا کہ اس سے اے بی بی کو شینجن میں اپنی سرمایہ کاری میں مزید اضافہ کرنے کے لئے مزید اعتماد حاصل ہوتا ہے۔ کانفرنس میں اے بی بی نے اپنا الیکٹرک ٹرانسپورٹیشن پروجیکٹ چین ہیڈ کوارٹر شینجن میں لگانے کا فیصلہ کیا۔

شینجن میونسپلٹی کے کامرس بیورو کے ڈپٹی ڈائریکٹر جیان ژینگ نے کہا ہے کہ شینجن میں ایئر بس اور سنوفی سمیت بہت سے مشہور فرانسیسی کاروباری اداروں نے بھی جڑیں پکڑ لی ہے اور وہ تبادلے کو مضبوط بنانے اور جیتنے والے تعاون کے منتظر ہیں۔

ایئر بس چائنا انوویشن سینٹر کے سربراہ سَن لُو نے کہا کہ یہ مرکز جس کا باضابطہ افتتاح 2019 میں شینجن میں کیا گیا تھا، دنیا بھر میں ایئر بس کے دو اختراعی مراکز میں سے ایک ہے۔”اس وبا کے باوجود مرکز نے شینجن میں مقامی سپلائرز کے ساتھ 100 سے زائد آرڈرز کے لیے تعاون کیا ہے۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ ہم ہوابازی کی درخواستوں کی نئی مصنوعات فراہم کرنے کے لئے ٹینسینٹ، اپوٹرونکس کارپوریشن لمیٹڈ اور دیگر کاروباری اداروں کے ساتھ بھی تعاون کرتے ہیں۔

سرکاری اعداد و شمار سے ظاہر ہوتا ہے کہ رواں سال کے پہلے 10 مہینوں میں شینجن نے 20.99 ارب امریکی ڈالر سے زائد غیر ملکی معاہدوں پر مبنی سرمائے کو اپنی طرف متوجہ کیا ہے اور 8.8 ارب امریکی ڈالر حقیقی استعمال میں تھے، سال بہ سال نمو بالترتیب 19.8 فیصد اور 24.8 فیصد تک رہی جس سے مستحکم اور اچھا رجحان برقرار رہا۔

غیر ملکی سرمایہ کاری کے گرم مقامات سے دیکھا جاسکتا ہے کہ شینجن نے اسٹریٹجک ابھرتی ہوئی صنعتوں اور مستقبل کی صنعتوں کی ترقی کو تیز کیا ہے، عالمی اثر و رسوخ کے ساتھ سائنسی، تکنیکی اور صنعتی اختراعات کا ایک ہائی لینڈ تعمیر کیا ہے اور عالمی سرمایہ کاری کے لئے نئے مواقع لائے ہیں۔

شینجن کی قومی اقتصادی اور سماجی ترقی کے لئے 14 ویں پانچ سالہ منصوبے  (2021-2025) اور سال 2035 کے ذریعے طویل فاصلے کے مقاصد کے مطابق شینجن نے پہلی بار جی ڈی پی کے تناسب کے طور پر ڈیجیٹل معیشت میں بنیادی صنعتوں کی اضافی قدر کو شامل کیا ہے۔

شرکاء نے عام طور پر اس بات پر اتفاق کیا کہ شینجن، چین کی ریاستی کونسل کی جانب سے جاری کردہ کاروباری ماحول کو بہتر بنانے کے پہلے چھ پائلٹ شہروں میں سے ایک ہونے کے ناطے سرحد پار تجارتی سہولت کی سطح کو بہتر بنائے گا، غیر ملکی سرمایہ کاری اور بین الاقوامی ٹیلنٹ سروسز کے انتظام کو بہتر بنائے گا اور اعلی معیار کا عالمی معیار (ورلڈ کلاس) کاروباری ماحول بنانے پر توجہ مرکوز کرے گا جس سے شہر کی کشش میں مزید اضافہ ہوگا۔

چین میں یورپی یونین چیمبر آف کامرس کے جنوبی چین آفس برائے کامرس کے چیئرمین کلاؤس زینکیل نے کہا کہ میرے خیال میں عمومی طور پر شینجن کےلئے صورتحال اچھی ہے کیونکہ چین کے جنوبی حصے میں خاص طور پر جی بی اے میں ہمارے پاس کاروباری ماحول بہت اچھا ہے۔

شینجن، “شینجن اسپیشل اکنامک زون میں غیر ملکی سرمایہ کاری سے متعلق ضوابط” کے خصوصی اقتصادی زون کی قانون سازی کو بھی سرگرمی سے فروغ دے رہا ہے جس میں منفی فہرست کے انتظامی نظام کے ساتھ پری انٹری نیشنل ٹریٹمنٹ کو مکمل طور پر نافذ کرنے، بین الاقوامی قواعد کی تعمیل کرنے اور کھلنے کی سطح کو جامع طور پر بہتر بنانے کی تجویز پیش کی گئی ہے۔

The Winter Itch 

Karachi, December 17, 2021 (PPI-OT):​Winter and dry skin seem to go hand in hand. Though dry skin is itself not serious, in its more serious form, it can make you feel itchy with red and scaly skin, cause small cracks, and even bleeds, in the skin.

What Causes Dry Skin?

Dry skin is especially common in the winter months. Some causes are:

Cold and windy weather. When the air outside is cold and dry, the water in your skin evaporates more quickly. This makes skin look and feels dry and chapped.

During the winters, sitting in front of fire or heaters may sound like one of life’s pleasures, but not only can it make your skin dry, but also your mucous membranes, leading to dry, chapped lips, nosebleeds, and dry throat.

A long hot bath or shower may feel like the only way to warm up yourself in the winters. But hot water can strip your skin of its protective oils causing your skin to look scaly, flaky or very dry.

Your soaps or liquid hand washes with strong chemicals might make your skin dryer in the winters than they would in the summer.

Dehydration is another cause. Even as you feel less thirsty in the winter, your skin continues to lose moisture all the time.

Reduced consumption of lipids (fats). Fats form a protective layer to keep your skin soft, plump, and flexible. If you don’t have enough fats in your diet, your body won’t have enough building blocks to maintain this protective layer.

Frequent lip licking and using a matte or long-wearing lipsticks can also leave your lips dry, chapped, and cracked.

How to avoid dry skin?

Protect your skin from the cold and wind by wearing protective clothing, gloves, and scarves.

Apply moisturizing lotions every time you wash your hands or take a shower. Pay special attention to your hands, feet, elbows, and knees.

Avoid setting your heater too high; try the lowest setting that you find comfortable.

Use a humidifier to keep your skin hydrated.

Take a shower in warm, not hot water, and limit your showers to 10 minutes.

Avoid caffeinated drinks.

Increase your water intake even if not thirsty.

Eat food containing good fats and Omega 3. Good fats are found in nuts, seeds, olive oil, eggs, fatty fish and even dark chocolate.

If you wear lip colour, switch to a gloss or creamy lipstick.

Cut back on exfoliating scrubs, face masks, and steam treatments.

When does dry skin need a visit to the doctor?

Dry skin can usually be managed at home. However, see a dermatologist​ if the following persist for more than a few days and do not seem to respond to your normal dry skin-care routine:

Redness, in lighter skin tones

Rough patches

Flaking

Cracks

Itching

Stinging

Office of Research Conducts Intellectual Property Rights Workshop 

Lahore, December 17, 2021 (PPI-OT):The Intellectual Property Rights Workshop was hosted on Saturday, December 11, 2021 under the banner of Technology and Innovation Support Centers in collaboration with Intellectual Property Organization Pakistan, and Law and Politics Society, LUMS. The Office of Research (OR) invited legal and industry experts such as Ms. Shakra Kurshid (IPO, Pakistan), Mr. Haseeb Zafar (Zafar and Associates, LLP), Mr. Bilal Farid Rana (Servicer Research and Pharmaceuticals, Pakistan), and Barrister Bilal Ashraf (B and S Advocates) to make this workshop comprehensive yet engaging.

The workshop started with an introduction of the esteemed panellists, and then Mr. Haziq Ali Khan, Research Assistant, OR was invited to give an overview of the topic. He defined intellectual property as “intangible ideas converted into a tangible form” while providing examples of copyrights, patents, and industrial designs.

After a concise introduction to the topic, the audience was ready to delve into details of intellectual property rights when Mr. Rana started his talk on Patents. With his energetic delivery, he explained that a patent grants you an exclusive right to make, use, and sell the invention. For a product to be patented: it must be a process or a product, must be new, must involve an inventive process, and must have an industrial application.

Subsequently, Barrister Ashraf began his talk on Copyright and Related Rights and defined copyright as the expression of an idea instead of merely having an idea in mind. He also explained the Requirements needed to be granted Copyright Protection – must be an idea that is expressed and needs to be original. Merits and demerits do not count.

Moving on from Copyright, a thorough, detailed, and well-explained session was given on Trademark and its application in business by Mr. Zafar, who presented the different forms of trademarks, which include shape marks, sound marks, certification marks, pattern marks, and services marks. He even walked us through the procedure of getting these trademarks registered, including meeting with TM Attorney, prefilling search, filling the Trademark Application, keeping in mind, and checking for any objection raised, then ensuring their removal (if any).

Afterwards, Ms. Sarwan, Senior Legal Counsel, OR engaged with the audience to answer their questions on all the aspects of Intellectual Property. During the session, she explained the concept of dilution of the trademarks and related significance of the enforcement of trademark rights. She also elaborated on how one commercial product may carry different types of intellectual property at the same time.

Lastly, Ms. Shakra Khalid, Assistant Controller of Patents, further detailed the audience on Patent claim drafting, enlightening us with solid facts such as how it gives you the right to exclusivity for 20 years and the creation of inventions are patentable only if they are new and are non-obvious. She even walked us through the steps for Patent Claim Drafting, where certain checkboxes need to be ticked to ensure professionally apt drafting.

Overall, the event was a complete success where the audience felt engaged and informed. The examples and details included by the panellists were very tangible, and an exciting celebration of all things related to law. The speakers were relatable, and stayed true to the essence of legal knowledge that was very practical. It engaged the audience directly with their real-life legal problems leaving them with many questions, which were promptly answered by the panellists leading to healthy discussions.

PCB begins search for NHPC coaches as part of its strategy of investing in pathways cricket

Lahore, December 17, 2021 (PPI-OT):As part of its key strategic objective of achieving cricketing excellence by strengthening the foundation of Pakistan cricket through investment into pathways cricket, the Pakistan Cricket Board today launched its search for highly qualified and skilled coaches, who will be based at Lahore’s state of the art National High Performance Centre.

In this relation, the cricket board on Friday posted advertisements for the High Performance Coach as well as batting, bowling, fielding and power-hitting coaches, who, among other qualifications, must boast a minimum experience of five years.

The High Performance Coach will be required to provide integrated and holistic coaching support to the players across all formats and levels, including life and mental preparedness. He will also be responsible for identifying talent and defining objectives for individual players that would facilitate excellence and augmentation in the players’ game, personalities and leadership, following in the PCB’s vision, Philosophy and approach.

The batting, bowling, fielding and power-hitting coaches, among other qualifications, will lead the PCB’s development programmes. They will also be responsible for identifying objectives for individual players within their areas of responsibilities that would facilitate excellence and augmentation in skills enhancements.

While advertisements for the national team coaches will be posted in due course, last date for submission of applications for five the National High Performance Centre coaches is 17 January 2022. The shortlisted candidates will be interviewed by a panel of experts before the candidates are finalised.

Nearly 6 in 10 (58%) Pakistanis are of the opinion that unemployment will increase in the next 6 months: Consumer Confidence Index Q3 2021 by Gallup Pakistan and Dun and Bradstreet

Islamabad, December 17, 2021 (PPI-OT):According to a Consumer Confidence Index survey conducted by Gallup and Gilani Pakistan, nearly 6 in 10 (58%) Pakistanis are of the opinion that unemployment will increase in the next 6 months.

A nationally representative sample of adult men and women from across the four provinces was asked the following question, “In your opinion, compared to today, in the next six months, how will the unemployment level change?” In response to this question, 22% said ‘increase a lot’, 36% said ‘increase’, 15% said ‘stay the same’, 15% said ‘decrease’ and 3% said ‘decrease a lot’. 9% did not know or provided no response.
