IoBM’s First Female Volleyball Team Participates in the HEC Kamyab Jawan Sports Gala 2021

Karachi, December 09, 2021 (PPI-OT):IoBM’s first female volleyball team participated at the HEC Kamyab Jawan Sports Gala 2021 in Islamabad on December 7, 2021. IoBM played against Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan but lost by 2-0. The Scores were 25-22 and 25-18 points. IoBM is proud of its female volleyball team for giving a good performance. We look forward to our team displaying the same sportsmanship in future tournaments.

Commemoration of International Anti-Corruption Day (9th December 2021) 

Chitral, December 09, 2021 (PPI-OT):University of Chitral organized an Awareness Walk to commemorate International Anti-Corruption Day with the theme of” Our Faith Corruption Free Pakistan.” A large number of faculty members, administrative staff, and students participated in the walk.

Acting Vice Chancellor University of Chitral Prof. Dr. Tajuddin also participated in the walk. He said that absence of checks and balances is encouraging corruption. He praised the efforts put in by the National Accountability Bureau in dealing with corruption.

Speaking on the occasion Mr. Zahoor Ul Haq, Director of Student Societies said that the menace of corruption is spreading at a fast pace. It is particularly affecting the developing countries. He urged the students to unite against corruption and play their role in eliminating this menace from the society.

Millennium Fellowship Project GUL-E-SHAOOR from NUST selected as one of the 10 winners in CREATE ’21, Quest for Startups 

Islamabad, December 09, 2021 (PPI-OT):Former Millennium Fellowship Project GUL-E-SHAOOR from Campus NUST lead by Izza Gul Awan (Batch 2K19, Millennium Fellowship Batch 2K21), now along with teammates Syed Sibte Ali Baqar (Batch 2K19) and Muhammad Zeeshan Tahir (Batch 2K18), from DC and SE, NUST College of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering (CEME) got selected as one of the 10 winners in Create 21, Quest for Startups.

CREATE’21 – a quest for startups was held in PIEAS located in Nilore, Islamabad on December 4th and 5th where teams from all over the Pakistan competed for their startups aiming to bag one of the ten 20,000/- cash awards along with attending mentoring workshops on entrepreneurship.

Society for Sustainable Development Goals arranged Seminar 

Faisalabad, December 09, 2021 (PPI-OT):SSDG organized a Seminar on “Sustainable Development Goals and Textile Circular Economy”. It was first awareness based seminar on Sustainable Development Goals, was held on November 15, 2021. Honourable and respected personality Prof. Dr. Tanveer Hussain (Rector NTU FSD) was the guest speaker at the seminar.

He provides awareness about SDG goals and contribution of Textile Circular Economy in achieving SDG goals. The chief guests were Ma’am Nadia Shamim and Dr. Faiza Anjum. At the end of seminar shield was awarded to Rector Prof. Dr. Tanveer Hussain.

Indus Hospital and Health network trains healthcare workers of Engro Corporation

Karachi, December 09, 2021 (PPI-OT):Indus Hospital and Health Network conducted a three-day Post exposure Prophylaxis (PEP) workshop for the doctors and nurses of the Engro Corporation. The training sessions took place at the Indus Hospital, Korangi Campus, from November 29 – December 1, 2021.

Dr. Naseem Salahuddin, Head of Infectious Department, Indus Hospital and Health Network, and Muhammad Aftab Gohar, Manager Rabies Prevention and Training Center, conducted these sessions.

The Engro Corporation nominated four trainees who received lectures, participated in interactive sessions, and discussed complex case studies. The participants took part in a hands-on training exercise, which was then followed by a post-workshop assessment test.

The trainers provided the trainees with the latest WHO guidelines on Rabies PEP as well as publications, videos, and other educational material for awareness activities for both healthcare providers and the general public.

We are hopeful that the training will help save many lives and control rabies!
