Convocation 2021

Rawalpindi, December 04, 2021 (PPI-OT):The Convocation of graduates from the year 2019, 2020 and 2021 will be held tentatively on 31st January 2021. All graduates (BS/M.Phil and PhD) who want to attend convocation are requested to register for convocation in their respective departments till December 10, 2021. The convocation fee inclusive of all charges is PKR4000.

Do’s and Don’ts for students for Convocation, 2022 to be held on 31st January 2022

Bring registration and invitation cards on both days along with original CNIC (guest and student).

Dress code should be strictly followed (neutral colour dresses, black / brown coat shoes, tied hair, no heavy jewellery, no chappals / sandals).

Do not leave your guest unattended at the time of registration, as it will cause security problem.

Students should strictly follow the timings (which will be conveyed to them by their respective departments) on both days, no entry will be allowed after closing the registration process as well as doors.

On convocation day, no mobile phones, hand bags or cameras are allowed.

Any student not complying the dress code or any other requirements will not be allowed to participate in the rehearsal as well as the convocation proceedings. NO EXCEPTIONS.

Do’s and Dont’s of the Convocation should be strictly followed.

Children of the age 8 – 13 are allowed on rehearsal day, but not on convocation day. Therefore, you should make arrangements beforehand. No requests will be entertained.

No changes regarding guests will be entertained after the registration process is over.

Brothers of the students (as guests) will be allowed only under extra ordinary circumstances after due approval of the Competent Authority.

Students have to complete all degree requirements before registration. Students on thesis extension must have viva before closing dates of registration.

Convocation registration is not mandatory for all the students if they are not attending convocation.

No exception will be entertained in any case.

Guest Speaker Session on Entrepreneurial Identity Development through Digital Media

Lahore, December 04, 2021 (PPI-OT):The Department of Management organized a guest speaker session, HRM and Entrepreneurship, on 25th November 2021. The topic was Entrepreneurial Identity Development through Digital Media, and the guest was Dr Arslan Khalid. He is the secretary of the government’s Social Media department, and he’s currently the focal person to Prime Minister on digital media.

The host started the session started with a recitation from Holy Quran. Head of Department (Management, HRM and Entrepreneurship) gave the welcome address. He welcomed the guest and introduced the theme by highlighting the importance of learning digital media skills for business school students.

After the welcome address, Dr. Aqeel invited Dr. Arslan Khalid to share his knowledge and valuable experiences with students. Dr. Arslan emphasized on the importance of entrepreneurial marketing in making any startup successful. He highlighted the vital entrepreneurial traits required for building a personal brand. Furthermore, he shared his valuable insights on the importance of digital media and available internships and job opportunities in the Digital Media Wing of Pakistan for students. He specifically highlighted the significance of learning new-age skills for students to work in the Digital Media industry.

The session was very informative and interactive. The students received the session well and concluded with a vote of thanks by Ms. Ambreen Khursheed (Senior Lecturer, FMS). At the end of the session, Dr. Faisal Mustafa, Dean, Faculty of Management Studies, presented a souvenir to the guest on behalf of the UCP Business School for sparing his valuable time. He expressed gratitude and thanked the guest for delivering an informative session to the students.

One Day Symposium on Climate Change and Soil Dynamics at University of Haripur on December 07, 2021 organized by Department of Soil and Climate Sciences and The UOH Star Society 

Haripur, December 04, 2021 (PPI-OT):The event is expected to be participated by more than 170 renowned national scientists, research scholars, farmers and industrial specialist working in different fields of agricultural and biological sciences.

The University of Haripur was established in 2012 as a public sector University, which is striving hard to play a dynamic role in academia as well as in research and development. In addition to promotion of Higher Education, we are focusing on introducing new spheres of Research, Entrepreneurship, connection between academia and industry to nurture the economic growth of agricultural community in the country.

Grand Launch Event of Google Developer Student Club at DHA Suffa University 

Karachi, December 04, 2021 (PPI-OT):On 2nd December 2021, Google Developer Student Club at DHA Suffa University conducted its first Grand Launch event for the first time, after arranging 50+ online coding boot camps last year. In Grand Launch Event, Umer Abdullah. A Solutions Engineer from Google was invited to share his journey to Google with all the students. Not only students of DHA Suffa University but alumni also joined. Other GDSC’s of Karachi were also joined by the ceremony.

The ceremony included the introduction of a new GDSC lead selected for this year, Hassam Jawed, preceded by Syed Ateeq. He shared his views to continue the legacy and help students learn to code and land good opportunities in the Tech industry. The session concluded with a vote of thanks presented by Ms. Eram Abbasi, Faculty Advisor of GDSC for the tenure of 2021-2022.

UET signs MoU with Chinese University 

Lahore, December 04, 2021 (PPI-OT):A plaque unveiling ceremony of an MOU between Department of Electrical Engineering UET Lahore and Zhegzhou College of Electric Power was organized virtually by both the signing parties. This MOU was named as China-Pakistan Electric Power Silk Road Institute. It was a stupendous event in which leaders of electrical engineering from the signing institutes and the electric power industry of both the countries were present.

President Yang Jianhua, Vice President Hu Bin, President Sun Shuai of The school of Electric Power Engineering, President Yang Xiaokun of the School of Power Engineering, President Qiu Wenyan of the School of Economics and Management, President Zhao Donghui of the School of Electrical Engineering, President Feng Mingqing of the School of Communication, Director Guo Wei of the International Education Department, Deputy Director Yang Jing, and Miss Joanna focal person from Zhengzou college were present at the ceremony.

However, Dr. Nadeem Mufti Senior Dean, Dr. Muhammad Kamran Dean Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Dr. Muhammad Tahir Chairman Electrical, Dr. Muhammad Asghar Saqib Senior Professor Electrical, Dr. Syed Abdul Rahman Kashif Associate Professor, Mr. Muhammad Salman Fakhar Lecturer Electrical and Focal Person of this MOU from Pakistan Side Mr. Anas Baig Winner of Intelligent Electric Power Supply Competition attended the ceremony. The plauq was unveiled by Dr. Nadeem Mufti, Dr. Muhammad Kamran, Dr. Muhammad Tahir and Mr. Hasan Jafar Zaidi.

In-House Meeting with HE Mohammad Ali Hosseini, Ambassador of Iran to Pakistan 

Islamabad, December 04, 2021 (PPI-OT):The Centre for Afghanistan, Middle East and Africa (CAMEA) at the Institute of Strategic Studies Islamabad (ISSI) had an In-House Meeting with HE Mohammad Ali Hosseini, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Pakistan. His Excellency was received at the Institute by Director General ISSI Ambassador Aizaz Ahmad Chaudhry and Director CAMEA, Ms. Amina Khan. Mr. Ehsan Khazaii, Cultural Consulate at the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Dr. Hamaneh Karimikia, Head of Press section and Mr. Habib Baqir were also present on the occasion.

Ambassador Aizaz Ahmad Chaudhry gave a presentation on the activities of ISSI and highlighted how academic and research interaction between both sides is key to strengthening Pakistan-Iran bilateral relations. Ambassador Hosseini expressed his desire to translate friendly sentiments into practical cooperation and coordination through increased research and dialogue. Both sides pledged continued exchanges and collaboration in future.
