Ahmed Safi Abdullah fined for showing dissent

Lahore, December 03, 2021 (PPI-OT):Central Punjab’s Ahmed Safi Abdullah has been fined 25 per cent of his match fee for a level 1 offence for showing dissent at an umpire’s decision during the seventh round Quaid-e-Azam Trophy 2021-22 match against Northern at NBP Sports Complex, Karachi.

Ahmed showed obvious disappointment after being given out. As such, he was found to have violated Article 2.8 of the PCB Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel.

On-field umpires Faisal Khan Afridi and Ghaffar Kazmi levelled the charge on the batter, who accepted the sanction proposed by match-referee Ali Naqvi.

Nearly 7 in 10 (68%) Pakistanis think that men are able to understand new technology better than women: Gallup and Gilani Pakistan

Islamabad, December 03, 2021 (PPI-OT):According to a survey conducted by Gallup and Gilani Pakistan, nearly 7 in 10 (68%) Pakistanis think that men are able to understand new technology better than women.

A nationally representative sample of adult men and women from across the four provinces was asked the following question, “Do you think men are able to understand new technology better than women?” In response to this question, 68% said yes and 22% said no. 10% did not know or provided no response.

Oxford University Press, Pakistan and Knowledge Platform Form Strategic Education Technology Collaboration 

Karachi, December 03, 2021 (PPI-OT):Oxford University Press (OUP), Pakistan and Knowledge Platform have entered into an agreement to advance education technology in Pakistan. Governor Punjab’s statement on IMF loans exposes Imran Khan policies: Shazia Marri 

Islamabad, December 03, 2021 (PPI-OT):Central Information Secretary PPP-P and member of the National Assembly Shazia Atta Marri has said that statement of Governor Punjab Chaudhry Sarwar regarding PTI government’s IMF loan dealings has exposed the real face of Imran Khan Niazi to public and all the secrets of Imran Khan’s that he made with IMF during three year’s rule being revealed time to time. This she said in a statement issued hereon today.

She said that Imran Khan would be held accountable for every penny of the loan that he borrowed from IMF and other loan giants. Ms Marri added that Imran Khan has sold all the assets of the country and all opposition parties were asking to the government for bringing the loan details under the discussion in parliament but Imran Khan was ignoring the parliament on this issue. She said that Imran Khan has crossed all boundaries in the slavery and implementation of International Monterey Fund policies in the country.

Department of English Holds Poetry Recitation Competition 

Islamabad, December 03, 2021 (PPI-OT):BS English students’ literary society SPELL (Students’ Panel of English Literature and Linguistics), established and patronized by the Department of English, organized its first poetry recitation event “Together We Rhyme” on November 30th, 2021. The event was conducted in the CUST library hall at 2:00 pm and it concluded around 3:30 pm. Eleven students from the Department of English, one student from the Department of Pharmacy, and one student from the Department of Biotechnology presented their poetic extracts and shared their valuable thoughts on various personal, social, religious and political issues.

The HoD Dr. Umar Farooq and the English Department’s faculty graced the occasion and appreciated, encouraged, and supported the young talented student poets. Dr. Hashim Khan, Assistant Professor, Department of English, coordinated the event and made all the necessary arrangements. SPELL plans to work on holding many such events in the future.

Lahore, December 03, 2021 (PPI-OT):Argentine Ambassador to Pakistan H.E. Mr. Leopold Francisco Sahores called on Acting Governor Punjab Chaudhry Parvez Elahi here at Governor House Lahore. Issues of mutual interest, including promotion of cooperation between the two countries in the fields of livestock, agriculture, pharmaceuticals, information technology and industry, were also discussed. The meeting was also attended by Deputy Head of Mission Camilo Emisto Silberkasen.

Ch Parvez Elahi said that bilateral relations between Pakistan and Argentina, which have been established for 70 years, are moving towards betterment and there is a joint commission for promotion of trade between the two countries to further strengthen the ties. He said that a joint business council has also been set up to enhance business-to-business interaction between the two countries.

The Acting Governor Punjab said that Pakistan wanted to take advantage of Argentina’s meat processing technology and trade between the two countries in the field of livestock, sports goods and surgical instruments needed to be further enhanced. Ch Parvez Elahi said that as the Chief Minister of Punjab, I have established Sundar Industrial Estate, through which one window facilities are being provided to the business community.

The Acting Governor Punjab said that the government is providing all facilities including security to foreign investors in Pakistan, adding that Pakistan is a completely peaceful country and there are opportunities for investment in various sectors. Argentine Ambassador Leopold Francisco Sahores said that cooperation between the two countries in the fields of agriculture, pharmaceuticals, information technology and industry would be further enhanced. He said that Argentina wanted to work with Pakistan in the field of biotechnology and would also provide technical assistance to Pakistan in the field of food security.
